Yes he's using a lot of effects, but he knows what he's doing. They apply well to the mix and make the performance feel more alive and more human, and less of a playlist. Maybe he didn't nail it 100% of the times, but no human does. I think he did a good job. Plus, it's almost a tech demo, so...
Humans aren't perfect, use to watch Carl Cox back in the day take serious gambles on 4 decks alot of the time he wasn't on point but when he locked in it was great. Oh and he was playing records.
Hi, I'm French and it's Google translate that translates, I had two dreams, to be a pro footballer or a DJ, when I see that, I say to myself that being an airline pilot is surely simpler
Really fun routine u have going here, but why do a lot of DJs like to only touch the low end knob? I find that during live mixes it absolutely ruins the transition because the frequencies become very harsh as both tracks are clashing.
@@mikelannister960yeah, i mean i think the equivalent to crossfading in tech and techno is flipping the basses, but I’ve seen some DJs use the crossfade for vocal chops and whatnot. But that’s about it
Question: to beat match can you just match it starting from wherever and then press the hot cue with quantize and this will not mess up the beat match? Or is this not a good way to beat match?
Hello, I don't know for sure on this model if there is a sync / quantise button as I don't have this model, generally most standalone players can beat match to the main track by pushing the sync button, the trick is to know when to layer your matched track, good luck with your endevours 🙏
One thing I’m not sure about with cdj DJs - they never touch the pitch / tempo faster but often nude the track with the platter slightly. Is this because cdjs sync your bmp but not quantise the phase of the tracks (You need to hit play perfectly in time)? Maybe it does quantise but it’s just that they didn’t beat grid accurately in rekordbox before hand? Just trying to work out what I’m seeing compared to vinyl DJing.
They can sync in both phase and bpm, but he is matching manually. In this video, it looks like almost every song is 130 bpm except one where he does speed it up a couple bpm with the slider.
Hi I am planning to buy first dj controller and I am really confused between the ddj 400 and inpulse 500... Now I know that ddj is better if I want to take DJing Seriously and make a career in it but I'm just a bedroom dj who loves to dj just for entertainment and to persue a hobby. And I need a controller which is kind of big in size and looks cool. So is it fine to go with the inpulse 500 or shall I go with ddj 400? I mean is there significant difference between them except for the fact of their softwares?
I personally think the ddj-400 is a lot better, or at least better for the techniques I use, you can do a lot of different thing with the ddj-400 considering is a £250 controller plus the layout is similar to profesional pioneer DJ decks
For me Impulse 500 is really good, don’t get me wrong, it’s got interesting features such as the slip and Vinyl mode in the deck rather than the software and the size is nice as well, if I was you I would watch a review of each one of the decks and see which one you like. I don’t like they way you do loops in the impulse 500 tho. As I said, it really depends on how you mix
I got the DDJ-400 last Christmas as my first ever piece of DJing kit as I wanted to pursue a new hobby and I found it to be a real high quality piece of kit for the price. Its a nice size and fits a lot of good features in it when compared with other controllers. It also gets you familiar with pioneer layouts which is good as they're the club standard. I got to grips with it quite fast and it made me really enjoy mixing and I've already moved on to a DDJ-1000 in the space of 10 months.
Word up Crossfades. Who is the smoothie who tells us how to do everything, but is giving out scripts that cripple our computer? I am a fan of you, but not that a hole.
Some LA idiot with hearing damage (prob from being kicked in the ear) you must know who I mean? I need to make contact, to say "don't come to my town buddy"
He is good not bad actually despite the effects "probably to bypass RUclips or other copyright allogarithm". I have one think that I can't stand though, "Useless and excessive touching of knobs". I hate it. Why you you want to take on this habit, it doesn't make you a better DJ, on the contrary it may switch of new noobs who like your mixing but get confused following you fake touch moves... This tiny critic above is my opinion and doesn't make you a bad DJ at all however without it you are better. Cheers
Unlike many other DJ's, his touches of the buttons, are not there to mislead the viewer. He mixes very quickly, many buttons and knobs must be operated and this is only possible if you have repeated the sequences many many times. Many things must be observed simultaneously and quickly, one look at the gain and at the same time his hand goes to the gain, gain is OK so the hand has nothing to do. Only in this way is it possible for him to do so many things at the same time and so quickly. It is the coordination of looking and acting at the same moment!
Denon is technically a few years ahead, pioneer has stopped for a long time. The only thing that can copy a lot from denon, pioneer is not what it did 20 years ago.
What's horrible, a few requests for a playlist an no answer?!? That's very poor. And it's easy to get the data back via recordbox. For me there's no respect.
Actually VDJ is very first ever "DJ equiptment" for lots of beginners. It's good but after a while you know you're missing something 😅 Now I'm owner of real dj controller and I feel this power and vibes 😉 Of course I couldn't play on real controller without knowledge that I've had from VDJ which of course teach you basics of DJing ;) Still using VDJ till this day to prepare my sets and check lots of tracks. It's basically faster to run software on my pc than put dj controller and plug all the cables 😅

I was stuck on the hihats at very distinct parts and this comment helped me realize how I use delay
Agreed
I like how pioneer's design becomes more and more cytus like. It just looks futuristic.
Amazing skill always thought that dj's that play with effects frequently make electronic music and live performances so much interesting
22:45-23:10 that... was amazing. I'm speechless. instantly subbed
Some good skills here! Great stuff, wicked mix ❤
Your hands at 2:57-2:58 made me lol other than that amazing skill!

For a channel called crossfader, he touches the crossfader very infrequently
Anything tech and techno crossfader is never used
For somebody watching advanced DJing surprised you don't know this

nice, loved it!
Love it❤

how is he recording video? i want to do the same but i'm not getting where is the camera, like he is using a flexible stand or what ?
nice set, enjoyed it :)
BRAVO
Great mix 🚀🚀 He is using beat loop to make 1/2 or 1/4 beats but how is he managing to mix in phase? Anyone?
What is the set up you use to film your DJ sets like this?
Wanna hear some deep and groove house!
