People talk about how Victor barreled his way face-first into a crime scene with half-a-dozen witnesses or how he stepped out of line by trying to cook Walt's formula but how about when he blatantly sticks his nose into Walt and Gale's conversations here, possibly tipping off Walt on what Gus has planned for him. Victor is the worst evil henchman ever!
It's very easy to forget in BB and BCS that the characters are working for a drug cartel. Guys like Gale, Max, Pryce, they all seem like such innocent victims sometimes, you feel that there's good cartel guys and bad cartel guys. People like Gus, Hector and Eladio are definitely more evil but the fact is that they all broke the law, they were all willing to do what they did for personal gain, in the expense of other people. Like Mike said, there's honorable thieves and despicable cops, it's not so black and white. But facts are facts.
Always loved the skill level between Walt and Gale. Gale himself is an extremely skilled chemist with his own extensive background, and even he still admits that WW’s skill is far beyond his.

So, he had no real reason to doubt that Gus was being honest with him about why he might soon need to replace Walt. And it’s not like those two employees were his only overhead. He also had the laundromat up above ground, whatever expenses came with running the superlab (utilities, materials/ingredients, etc), his hired thugs like Mike and Victor, and a network of street level operators who answered to him and thus presumably worked for him, maybe not on payroll necessarily, but they were all dependent on shipments from him. Then he had his chicken business that he laundered his own money through and used to transport the product, who knows how much revenue it actually brought in and whether it was actually self-sustaining or not. He may have had to subsidize the clean front businesses with funds from the drug operations. Then you have his relationship with the German company that Mike was involved with and whatever amount of money he’s sending to those people. And before he jammed up the cartel’s business by getting the cousins to get into a shootout with Hank he also was expected to consistently kick up a significant amount of money to Don Eladio too. We see him meet with people in a trailer out in the desert, so presumably that’s property owned by one of his businesses or himself that he uses for conducting meetings he wouldn’t be comfortable having in his office at the chicken restaurant. Dude had crazy expenses everywhere you looked. Honestly, if you looked at his balance sheet the cook team was probably one of his lower expenses. Jesse did the math at one point and figured out that for every 100 million in product Gus was paying them around 3 million and some change and $96 million-ish was going to Gus’s operation. His expenses were probably massive given the scale of the illegal operation he was running and how it overlapped with multiple legitimate businesses that may have also needed to be subsidized to some degree by the drug money.
It's amazing that Gus's voice here is the perfect halfway point between how he talks to his staff and how he talks to walter or the other gangsters. It shows that none of them are the fake Gus but it's him who is in command of his own emotions

Two definitely different door openings to Gale's apartment. To be honest, Walt is the one who did mess things up and then fixed them and then messed them WAY UP then fixed most of it in a weird halfway measure.

Gus basically has 2 personalities that he switches on and off. 1 is sort of like a mask and is the one he uses when dealing with civilians or speaking business. He’s a very kind, understanding, and soft spoken person when he needs to be. The other personality is more of his true self, a cold-blooded, cutthroat killer. His voice is also lower and sounds menacing.
Before that even. Gale was meant to be the main cook before he himself recommended Walter. Gus already knew that he was taking a risk working with an incautious man, an arrangement that would not last indefinitely but was advantageous in the short term, and Gale would be the backup to take over when necessary.
If Gus had his way and Walter was killed in the lab and no attempt was made on Gale’s life, how would he have explained the news to Gale who the night before he had a discuss with about that very prospect. Gale can’t just think that’s a coincidence.
Probably not gus would just pressure him to agree and if somehow gale refused which very unrealistic than honestly gus couldn’t do anything he could threat him but having the backbone of your business be on a guy that hates you is a recipe for disaster

That’s a good question. I think he liked him a little bit, but mostly he was using him. Gale is such a nice dude, honest and easy to read. Both. Gus’s life goal, which is revenge, greatly supersedes any relationship he has or may form. Doesn’t mean he won’t like or respect some people he meets along the way. I think he liked some qualities in Gale. To him, Gale was probably like a little puppy. I think the show hinted that Gus liked Gale. When Gus grabbed the green box cutter and stared at it contemplatively, I think it was pretty obvious that the box cutter reminded him of Gale, and that made him momentarily upset.

Both. Gus’s life goal, which is revenge, greatly supersedes any relationship he has or may form. Doesn’t mean he won’t like or respect some people he meets along the way. I think he liked some qualities in Gale. To him, Gale was probably like a little puppy. I think the show hinted that Gus liked Gale. When Gus grabbed the green box cutter and stared at it contemplatively, I think it was pretty obvious that the box cutter reminded him of Gale, and that made him momentarily upset.
Gale is the most forgotten Character and I don’t know why
