Chopin Nocturne in C sharp minor
arr by Nathan Milstein
Leopold Mittman, piano
Recorded in 1935. 12. 30 Видеоклипы
He had the cleanest technique of any violinist. He made it sound so effortless.
I'm with you 100%. The first time I heard this was from Josh Bell, who also has a lush romantic style, and I loved it. In the last few years I have developed a real appreciation for these older masters, like Milstein, Oistrakh, and Kogan. They were something special.
1:00 -1:05 so nuanced and accurate and aesthetic
better than Chang's, who actually gives a lush romantic rendering of this piece. when i was younger i loved how the modern violinists would let the violin sing against the way that some of the older masters seem to suppress that free resonance of the instrument. now that i'm older i understand that anyone can wail on the fiddle, but these old masters are using the bow as a brush, or as a pen. much more precise and sensitive
I'm very very very impressed with this amazing violinist, he plays beautifully
Great interpretation by the one who transcribed this piece from piano to violin.
"The Black Sea sound" is how it was described by Milstein's new teacher at the Moscow Conservatory. More than half the great Russian musicians came from Odessa. (now Odesa in Ukraine) We all hope this beautiful city will not be destroyed by barbarians...
Beautiful! Thank you for posting!
It IS as good as it gets. Milstein is my favorite.
this is beautiful
Real artwork here. Only the great Izaak Perlman ever pulled this off so perfectly when he played for Ronald Regan at the White House.
Leopold Mittman had a long career in collaborative (accompanist) music, chamber works, as a soloist, and as a teacher.
It's my be one of the ever green in classics! But even more here of one of historical recordings!
The Master
MILSTEIN!!!....only MILSTEIN..
Tear up everytime
"Chopin wrote nothing for the Violin because all his music is written for the Violin."
Jan Leontsky
i dont understand the meaning of this quote, can you explain what it is trying to say
Kitty Scherbatskaya Maybe it means that since every of Chopin's pieces can be played on violin, he didn't need to compose something explicitly for violin only.
Yes, before him we didnt have this kind of melodies in classical music.
it would make more sense if “because” was changed to “but”
@@kittyscherbatskaya8122 Most of Chopin's works are in the cantabile or singing style which sounds so good on violin
Wow.
C'est vraiment beau et propre, net..
I prefer his later recording of this - but this is gorgeous too.
3:24 absolute insane
Chopin is talented.
Thats melody in the the pianis film is relactive
yeh.....pure music..
MUSICAL MAGIC
Just today I heard about 10 times ... not enough!
OMG
FACT! Chang has nothing on Milstein.
When Chang takes off the training wheels (shoulder rest) then she will be closer to Milstein.
Nick P Rubbish
''When Chang takes off the training wheels (shoulder rest) then she will be closer to Milstein.'' One of the silliest ever Troll comments on RUclips.
Who are the 3 people who pressed thumbs down on this recording?
Yeah, well now there's seven of em. Honestly, I don't know why anybody bothers commenting on 'thumbs down'.
No one plays it better....
always the First
bu nasıl bir parça amınakoyayım ya... müthişş
Far less sensitive than chang
I_l_I_l This is a very sensitive and INTERIORIZED piece of music ! It is not Tchaikovsky violin concerto!
Only a Big Master like Milstein can take us inside...
What a despicable comment
Albin P. Moron!
Only to a deaf person, such as yourself.
I wrote this 4 years ago, i would never write this today. It has been 4 years of discovering classical music from which i learnt a lot so yes, i was a moron then.
