Give some respect to the bin men for emptying the bins and making other people pleased and making their hearts be filled with Joy.
I was a bin man in the 60s. It was hard work but I was 17 years old and very fit. we collected the bins from the rear of the house as they never put the bins out in those days. the bins were full to the brim with ashes, tea leaves, dog muck, garden waste, bricks, rubble etc. The tea slops ran down our backs when we picked the bins up and onto our shoulders, sometimes it took two men to lift the bin if the bin had old bricks and rubble in it. The hot ashes burned our backs and our clothes were always soaking, we weren't supplied with overalls as the bin men are today, so we wore our old clothes. We had fires in the back of the waggon as some of the ashes were still smouldering. The men in the video went to a cafe for breaks, we worked without a break so we could get finished. Despite this, I loved the job as the men I worked with all worked as hard as me, there were no slackers. I had a good friend who worked with me who was killed, he was riding on the step of the wagon, as we all did and he was knocked off when the waggon went too close to a lamp post, and his head was crushed by the back wheels. The driver was so shocked he never drove again for several months. The bin men of today have it good, with no heavy lifting, overalls supplied, and a decent wage.
easy job today and there still complain
I worked as a bin man too. I worked for Mercedes and it was hard work but we had some problems with the bins because once we put them onto the thingy of where you empty them it didn’t work and then the waggon broke but despite the face of this. We had a new Mercedes bin truck and it finally worked this time. Once we emptied them,we never put them back in the past because we just left it on the pavement. We had to go into a millions of streets and it really had my arms tired because once I had the bins in my shoulders,my arm was really getting full. It’s really hard as a bin man but the job is actually fun that’s why you get some credit and that’s why you deserve it for emptying the bins around on the streets. People felt very pleased of the bin men and gave some respect to them and that’s why they deserved the respect.
This is great! I’ve found many videos on here to help me fall asleep. Old creaking boat, torrential rain on tin roof and laundry room dryers, all extremely helpful! If this could be put on a 10 hour loop cycle… I may have a new favourite. 👍
this procedure is so absolutely satisfying to watch, every morning when I was younger I would watch the bin lorry slowly creep down the street and the bin men rhythmically loading and unloading the bins and then jump in and go to the next street, so organised.
My 1 year old Grandson gets excited every time the bin lorry comes down the street so this video is perfect. Thanks for posting.
Been 6 years and this is still golden
Thanks so much for filming this, my 15 week old puppy is absolutely terrified of the bin men so have this playing as background noise to try and get her used to the sounds, it’s really helped me and her out :)

The history of bin wagons in fascinating
I work on the bins in Milton Keynes. I love my job, and do it with a professional attitude.
Milton Keynes still got 2009 trucks?
Yes
I love lorry's
this truck was on my black bin round when i lived in north east derbyshire district council
It can’t as it is a rotherham truck
A bin man once said to me years ago if you get a new TV or microwave or item
then
rip the box up and put it in a black bag and then put it in the bin don't put the full box outside on top of the bin
because
Not just your neighbours but other people who are walking past like burglars
or know somebody whose a burglar now knows that you have just got a new item and it is worth trying to break in and get it
it's the same with if you've got a caravan on your driveway and then it stood there for 11 months a year and then all of a sudden in August it's gone
it's only natural that there's nobody in the house because they're on holiday ,,yes ,, somebody might be coming round to check on the place but they're not there 3 in the morning are there
it would be great to get a shot of the top rail as it's job is to stop the bin falling in and it also helps to dislodge any waste stuck inside. The top rails differ in council wagon, but this one here looks substantial and it doesn't wobble at all.
Looks like a normal garbage day in the neighborhood.
Sure was!!

Nice video dude
Nice dustcart
Thank you!!:) we haven't got this anymore unfortunately, up until recently it was at North East Derbyshire District Council
Nice!
The bin men here can't even be bothered to put bins back where they found them.
And the bins have got wheels.
In the 70s bin men had to go round the back and pick them up over their shoulders and carry it all the way to the lorry and empty it themselves.
Now they have it easy and still can't be bothered to do what they are supposed to.
IDLE GITS!!!!!
They probably have to empty 10x the amount of bins nowadays and probably get crap from pencil-pushers in the office if their round takes too long.
Yep because 2 dumps a day that’s why
@@marcussheen exactly mate.

My local council used to have a Mercedes-Benz truck not a Dennis
We have Dennis in Manchester. Only 2-3 Mercedes at the council I work for.
They might just have one Mercedes actually. I know they have 2 I think it was at the council i used to work for where I live
slower than a month of sundays
Thanks for recording
I need to put the sticker with the number and was wondering which side to stick it to.
Looks like the back side would be best as the front gets some lorry support bits touching it
Yeah I think the back bit would be best

@@chicowasp just don't try rush round too quick on your first couple of weeks, take in the areas your covering and give your body time to adjust to doing it, first couple of weeks are normally the painfulist, once you get past them you'll be fine mate
@@davidsimpson8737 Thanks David.Just hope im with a good crew ,who knows im new to it,and lets me updapt with a bit of patience.
@@chicowasp it took me a matter of a week you will be fine but being with a good crew makes all the difference good luck
Not as good as the ol automated sideloader...
If you get a good crew, like the ones in recent videos, with the truck VN16 0ZX, then theyre definitely faster than a side loader however this crew a side loader would be faster
They need to buy automatic trucks
That is automatic.
Haha no bro I’m talking about the once with side arm like heil trucks we have in the USA 🇺🇸 we do about 15 to 16 hundreds accounts per day
Where abouts in rotherham

During when we STAYED in the EU I remember when bin men used to take every bit of rubbish or recycle every week but now they LEAVE rubbish all over the grounds this day and age. ABSOLUTELY DISGRACEFUL!
Ok KAREN.
How about it isn’t collected at all
