More volts = more power for some amps...like mine. I decided to run a 14v battery bank that charges at 16.5v because i want that extra power (XS Power Titan S6 Lithium). It is so much more fun making my life complicated. I could have just used normal 12v batteries and been done already. What fun would that be?
Don't forget to start at the beginning of this build playlist so you don't miss out on any fine details. There is LOTS of them!
Anyhow, the entire point of the step down box is to bring that 16.5 charging voltage down to something the Escalade won't mind, such as 14.x or so. The rest of the system can enjoy the benefit's of the extra power while we trick the caddy into thinking nothing has changed. Unlike my Tahoe (see previous video's), i can't run it balls to the wall at 17v (the entire truck). I don't think it will like it too much. The older Tahoe don't mind but then again, that was 2001. This is going in a 2015. The soon i will be controlling the alt and deleting the 12v battery and replacing it with this, which happens to be the proper replacement size. Hang tight, watch me do what i do. Thanks for joining me on this epic journey if you are! :)

sorry it doesn't seem like a lot of progress but this caddy is very computer driven and unlike my old 2001 Tahoe where i feel like i can get away with anything, this one is a little more touchy. I have to tread lightly with this electrical system. I just wanted everyone to know i am still trying to make progress and things are getting done. Pre-testing on something like this is important! Had i ran 12v batteries this system would already be done probably. But i had to make my life difficult! As usual! I have also been busy with regular shop work (see previous video) so i have to balance that with this. Check out everything we make at www.wccaraudio.com and follow me and my little tiny squares at http:/instagram.com/meade916 - thanks for watching if you did! And as always, feel free to shout out your city and what platform you are watching on! I always love seeing where everyone is from!
Hey Steve. Quick question. I just picked up a mechman400amp alt. Mechman told me it’s cold startup voltage is 15v but it runs at 14.8v will that be ok to still plug into cyber6k battery?
@@bretty9446 i don't see why not. But then again i don't even know what a Cyber6k is lol...so don't ask me.
@@bretty9446 it'll be OK
@@bassbrother101 thanks man!
Cloquet Minnesota.
I only use RUclips.
And a little added info:
I got SK-1 00041.
SMD: Hard work + Dedication= Success.
This man never let's me down with how amazing his ideas are.
RITTZ deserves way more recognition than he gets.
Rittz is the shit heck ya! Been listening to him a long while now..
Been watching this build from the start and just got to say it's stunning true passion and craftsmanship at it finest....has inspired me to incorporate a system back into my car.....looking at the memphis MOJO 8s but still haven't decided
I'm a simple man, I see steve Meade drops a video, I automatically click play and then I click like, and then I make sure to leave a comment just so he knows he is appreciated.
It's progress down to every last wire loving the build badass SMD
Install of the year 💯💪🏿
This system sounds and look amazing...keep it bro
Installs that are a work of art!! Kudos to the attention to details!!!
This is seriously insane craftsmanship and creativity, almost takes your breath away!
Steve is a really busy guy but he's always keepin us up-to-date with his projects no matter what. Hello from Suriname 🇸🇷 ❤️
Man that is some bad ass work. I wish I could hear it in person.
Work hard play hard.... very innovative car audio designs for decades!
Wow the knowledge needed for these newer vehicles install is impressive. I had 5 wires to hook up for my install back when I was a punk.
why were you a punk?
@@meade916 ah just slang for young
This is a man that only do QUILTY. 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾💯💯💯💯 TEST A 100 TIME FIX AND RUN 1 TIME. they key🗝️ 💪🏿💪🏿
I had a mech man like 15 years ago. Solid
I love watching this content... this is important educational information.
Bro I'm loving what you doing with that that is absolutely phenomenal man I don't have the words that describe what I'm looking at and how in awwwwe I am .sweet set up bro . My guy you're a professional nodoubt about that
There's no need to apologize for your wiring while testing stuff out, shit half these guys nowadays dont even look half that good once all installed
Amazing work!!!! Never disappoint with your videos. All your builds are awesome u never skip on anything. So clean and detailed. Can't wait to see those amos and subs in there slappin!!!!
twin turbos, damn what a beast of a car. this car is absolutely your style.
Man, seriously awesome stuff! I love the demo vids, but the installs are my jam! I dig the technical side. I'm running a Skar dual SDR12 bass package along with front and rear Rockford Fosgate 6.5's 3 ways up front 2 ways in back for midrange. Axxess DSP and harness, Skar 1200.1, Blaupunkt (I know, didn't have the budget for anything else and Skar was out of 4 channel 200w amps), and 3 farad capacitor. A ton of Killmat sound deadening, front doors, decklid, package tray top and bottom as well. Well balanced, but already have plans for a full on build.
Computer nerd liquid cooled. No disrespected ,but it got me hyped.
it does sound fun!
Watching from New Zealand insane SPL Car Audio System wish I had super roofers like this 😂😅
Woke up saw the notification, already knew it was worth watching, definitely been wondering what was up with the caddy
That set up is unrealllllllll 💦 your the man Steve
Thanks for letting us into the kitchen. Very cool episode!
Omg man, that so damn clean!!! Always coming in with the show stopper details!!
I admire your work, best quality work ever bro, it all takes time and at the end it all be worth it, cant wait to see all this together and done
Awesome job on the system. Hope everything gets installed soon.
There’s always good content on this channel never disappointed
Take your time i will enjoy the videos as they come.
Looking at those amps reminds me of the PPI art series amps back in the day
i have no idea why. lol
Great video Steve it is very cool to learn more about this 👍 loving car audio like I do never stop learning, great information.
Great setup bro... can’t wait to see loaded and playing.
Only haters thumbs downs this man videos. This is creativity at its finest. Congrats on all your hard work sir. Look forward towards more projects 💯 😎
Got to get this truck in some shows. Powder coated turbos are over-the-top badass lol.
sounds like fun but i don't really care about shows anymore. Kinda burnt out on them over the years and 2/3rds of the people i meet at shows are FAKE. I do this for me. lol :)
At minimum this beast needs to be at SEMA selling them sweet SMD products
Big fan of your work man , really inspirational
Love hearing someone else bumping rittz,my man
I just took a paper clip and cut it down and stuck it in both sides of the pin out and taped it up on my 2013 Silverado. I have had it that way since the truck was new pretty much.
Good Shit bro, youll hit that milli soon, keep the vids coming
That engine bay 🤩
Set up So hypnotizing
Run the current wire from the 16 volt bank that's going to your vehicle electronics through some huge diode type battery isolators, the voltage will drop and the amperage would still be high enough for your vehicle electronics, those big battery isolators are rated for 200ah that's good....
". .put it in great, so it stays great " -S. Meade
Hell ya! Progress for sure.
nice work always top quality and very clean
Makes me want to work some more on my truck
Dam and that is the cleanest work
Dopeness
Love the ZZTop i nthe background
nice work ...
could the computer have some sort of safety shut off for like surge protection incase wattage gets too high? maybe some sort of relay that makes the truck think its getting the correct voltage could work? idk just spit balling , troubleshooting really sucks sometimes
Crazy audio system😃
That's awesome
awesome work
Absolutely amazing bro. Jaw dropping work...quick question...any reason u choose the 370 mechman over the 400?
Heck ya some RITTZ!! Bump it!!!
That alternators in there like swimwear LOL
This project is nice man, also is this your Cadillac??
What happened to the jl twk i loved that dsp i get it though the color scheme an audio control just as good
Hey guys I was thinking of getting 2 Kicker Q-Class 41L7152 on a 2002 Chevy Silverado crew cab, Deleting the back seat (single) and I know I might need a costume made box to fit, my question is what amp would go with the subs, my budget is 2k thanks in advance.
Maybe could use a adjustable voltage regulator on feed the wire to ECU.
Could Record voltage that computer see when volts are below 15.7, then feed the computer that low signal voltage it thinks it’s getting.
Pasado de lanza mis respetos
Que es lo que dice el bato cámarara
My 2013 Explorer is exactly the same. Loves 15.7V but as soon as I hit 15.8 I get a check charging system warning and at 16 my ac flips out
Straight up #DOPE
Love the optical cable setup where can I find it
Same here with my CTS over 15.7-volt power steering, abs, ac,... etc stop working.
Just bought a 2013 Explorer. Wanting to do a fresh build on it but im trying to figure out the best way to get signal from the factory head unit. So far the best i’ve found for a good price is an rca and remote harness adapter. Any recomendations?
AudioControl and other companies make a Line Output Converter, or LOC, that can take a head unit's high-level signal and convert it to RCA for your amps. Some amps and digital signal processors also have this functionality built right in but may cost a bit more. Look for an amp/DSP that has "High Level Inputs" in the list of features. Hopefully that helps a little
I’m working on my 08 Tahoe 5.3L and putting two TOD412 Rockford’s with a t15001-bd and 4 focal access 6.5 with a T400-4channel Rockford amp looking to run off a X2 power and my nominal car battery insulator do I still need to beef up the alternator if so just not sure wat brand and Amp I need
Ok phew never owned a mechman alternator before until a month ago and mine makes alil whine noise so does urs so that got to be normal makes me feel alil better lol
Sweet
hey man. the computers are going to shut down due to protection logic to not over draw the drivers in the modules. probably need to isolate the higher voltage to the amps only.
LMAO!!! bro....
All your accessories draw more amperage than my system with a 4x70 and (not doing full power) 2k sub amp
Upload the whole thing already damn I'm getting frustrated 🤣
That motor is tough tho.. 👍
I was in the same situation put the same alt in my Tahoe and the battery light stayed on my guy who hard tuned my vehicle like deleted the code and it never came back on
autotech engineering has your engine light solution
its already fixed.
Nice
Hi from México City
I wish I could put my 4 12's back in my ford ranger
Question : Aren't those two 1500.2 a little bit underpowered for the real rms of those subs ?? #justasking.
they do 3500 each and they are class A AB, not class D. They are underpowered yes, that has been established over and over again. But they are doing good with what they are seeing so far during testing.
Awesome Steve.
As some parts and electrical are made for 12v to 14.6....then on some parts on the ecm n pcm are multiplex...then out comes reference voltage of only 5v on some parts to work @ a low voltage...
As ur toss all the voltage it goes NO WAY and shuts off to protect all components. As NOW days everything is on digital screens... Wasn't it all so simple back in the 90s.... hope this helps alil bud.....stay up bro.
Hp tuner software would not take care of that light ?
Is that a twin turbski LS in there?
🔥💯
Woah Wow wee nice $teve as always...
😍
Nice🤩👌
Make it stock again? Lol yeah right!
Got any used alts laying around?
Casey Cason is recorded from way back I’m assuming. Cause I remembered he died while back. But dam those were the days. Late 80’s early 90’s. Saturday morning TOP 40. No cancel culture bullshit
👍
maybe hook it up to the laptop to turn the light off some how idk just brainstorming
What's the best mid tier sub to buy?
How much for the alt u pulled out ??
Great Success 👍 (in my Borat voice)
What's the intro song's name? Thanks!
