I am a native Spanish speaker, I'm learning Italian, it's a beautiful language with so many similarities to Spanish, verbs in their infinitive form also have three possible endings which are basically the same but without the e. For I, we say yo, for You we say tu, for He/She we say el/ella... the point is they're very similar.
Pronunciation is definitely different tho
@@Isaac-ou3rrTrue
YEAH! being a spanish speaker has significantly helped me out while learning Italian lol. its almost like having a cheat code haha
I can relate. I am a native English speaker with strong Spanish skills. Italian is easy and very exciting.
I learned spanish first, it makes italiano easy for me
This is the best explanation I've seen for Italian verbs. They get so confusing and I never knew where/how to start learning them. Thank you for breaking them down to basics and for supplying lists/examples I can start with! 😀
Yay! I’m so happy to hear it helped 😀 if you enjoyed this then you’ll love my Italian A1, A2, and B1 courses which follow a similar structure. You can find out more at theintrepidguide.teachable.com
I’ve been taking private Italian lessons for 3 weeks…..this is absolutely amazing. This info is necessary prerequisite gold. I never comment on social media but needed to for this. Instantly following 🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽🙌🏽
I'm so happy to hear that :) I post weekly Italian lessons on my other channel @intrepiditalian if you'd like to subscribe ruclips.net/user/intrepiditalianwithmichele
This was really well explained and something I can watch again and again to let it sink in. Thank you so much for this.
I’m so happy to hear that 😀 Grazie a te 🥰🤩
@@theintrepidguide ciao
EXCELLENT! First teacher I 've seen refer to irregular verbs as being stem changing within a FAMILY! This just organized my brain!! Major insight for me! Thanks! I will now create a graphic/chart of these relationships!
Yay! I’m so glad 😀🇮🇹🤩Grazie mille
Grazie mille per questo. It surprises me how many Italian language teachers on RUclips omit basics like ' What is a mode ? ', ' What is a tense ? ' or ' What are Parts of Speech ', usually dismissing them as ' dry ' or ' boring ' grammar. I promise you it's often difficult to simply find out what they are in English. I had no idea verbs, nouns etc were grouped together as ' Parts of Speech '. It's also interesting to see how many teachers repeat so often phrases like ' Don't worry ', ' It seems scary ' or ' You don't need to know that '. I bow to your experience but I reckon there are thousands like myself who don't have any fear but we severely lack the structure of how various languages are put together and appreciate when people like yourself explain so called ' Simple grammar concepts ' to those of us for whom they are anything but. Cheers.
Figurati! I'm so happy you appreciate the "boring" details. I really like learning about them too as they great for building confidence. Are you currently learning Italian? What is your level? In bocca al lupo!
@@theintrepidguide Si, provo studiare la lingua ogni giorno. Direi che è dappertutto ! Meaning that it's all over the place ! Historically vocabulary has never been an issue, putting phrases together has. I'd heard of nouns, verbs etc but never knew that they can be classed together or how they interact. Grammar, like any subject, doesn't have to be boring, it depends on how it's taught. I like that you mention ' patterns ', I find that sort of mindset helps me a lot. As a suggestion / request, while I'm well aware that tenses are different between Italian & English I'd appreciate any video where you compare and contrast. Auguri.
That’s great! I appreciate the feedback too 😀 Grazie mille ❤️If you enjoy my teaching style, you might be interested in the upcoming release of my online video Italian courses. For updates on its release you can follow my Instagram @intrepiditalian or join my email list here bit.ly/TIG-SignUp
Grazie! Your explanations are great! I’ve been teaching French and English at the federal government for more than 15 years now and really appreciate seeing how other teachers explain grammar. I’m sure I’ll use your explanations as inspiration the next time I teach my beginner students. I finally feel as though I have a better approach to learning verb conjugation in the indicative present in Italian. Duolingo just throws it at you, so this was very helpful. Grazie mille!
the way you explain is absolutely simple and understandable, i speak spanish so i have the idea of the conjugation of verbs but this video made it even easier for me! huge thanks
That’s so wonderful to hear. I’m so glad you found it helpful 😀
I started Italian learning 2 weeks ago, initially I was wondering why there are no pronouns in Italy language. Slowly I found out that the pronouns are combined with the verbs. This clip is really useful which it gathers all the frequently used verbs. There is always a key to unlock the language tool box in order to learn fast, and you are going to be 1 of the important key in my Italian language learning, thank you so much.
Thank u so much 😊. I am a beginner and was really confused about the verbs . I found ur video and u cleared all my doubts . Very good explanation 👏💯
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you.
After your little conjugation quiz yesterday, 6/27/2023 I just had to come back here and really pay attention to these lessons, thank you, Michele, for being such a good teacher😊
Bravissimo! Thanks for joining! You did so well 👏
This is the best video I have ever seen that explains verbs and conjugation. If I would have seen a video like this in beginner Italian, it would have made it much easier to I understand.
Hi how are u, i am really trying to learn Italy 🇮🇹 some time it’s interesting but sometimes its boring, any way i try my best to learn and watching all videos all the teachers given us a very good job 👏
Your too good when it comes to making someone understand, thumbs up..
I'm so happy to hear that this helped you :)
Thanks a lot. Very well explained. I do understand better italian conjugation now as a beginner. Godbless.
Thank you !!!! such a great job, very useful 🧐👌
That was truly helpful…. I have been speaking English my whole life and really never thought about the conjugation of verbs😉. In all sincerity that was helpful.
Awesome video! I've tried to learn italian numerous times and always lose motivation because I was so confused how words change when in a sentence. Once I get my head around this i'm confident when I start learning nouns and putting them in sentences I will continue and finally be able to master the language.
So glad you enjoyed it 😀 It just takes time and patience. I have 3 online Italian courses coming out very soon so you may want to join if you need extra support. Join my email list for updates bit.ly/TIG-SignUp
This is the most concise and understandable guide for Italian verb conjugation I have see. Well done!
I need your help, I read that is In Italian the 2nd to last syllable is by default most usually prolonged or stress like Italiano (it-ta-li-A-no) or legère(lay-GEH-ray) or Nicolo. It recently learnt that the placement of accent marks(diacritical) marks can affect the rhythm (stress/accent) of the word, like Itáliano(i-tA-li-a-no) or lègere (lÈH-gay-ray) or Nícolo (NÍ-co-lo). The word I am trying to understand is a name , if Perugini= (pe-ru-GI-ni), would this be correct= Pèrugini( PEH-ru-gi-ni)

Oh, it reminded me of the game Ages of Empires when you said those verbs. :) Funny, and isn't Italian related to old latin?
Yes! Italian is the closest language to Latin 😉
Love the tips! Great video explanation but that background music is kind of annoying/distracting.
Thank you 😊
I wont live long enough to get the hang of conjugation!
Ok so the stem changes, for the irregular verbs. For example dire, if you were to say “I say” it would be io dico. But if I were to say “you say” it would be voi dite. Meaning the stems would be dic and dit. I’m just a little confused why they change and if it’s just something I have to memorize.

what does "pattun" mean?
Conjugating Verbs kinda difficult for beginners, fottimi comes handy ATB..
are the courses videos? interactive?
Yes 😊
Explained well, but maybe 2,possibly 3 videos would make it all easier to digest!Otherwise,as a novice,It Is Daunting...

The part where she said mangio for all of those different verb forms is interesting.
Apparently Russian is the same (I don't speak Russian by the way)
But Apparently the reason when some russians speak English and they say "I go to store" instead of "I go to THE store." Is because when you translate the Russian literally into English it's "I go to store." The word "the" is Implied not literally said

two out of ten again.I will do my best.My
best is not good enough.I shall give it a try.

Great video and she’s wonderful. My only issue is that she goes way to fast. Please slow down for us older novice learners.
#1. If you look at the small round circle-it looks like a tire-along the bottom right of the video, your can slow down and speed up the video. Sometimes I speed up when I am reviewing vocab.
#2 Sometimes that tire/circle allows you to change into your native or a foreign language for captions as well.
#3 The three little doubts at the bottom right underneath the video sometimes will allow you to see the transcript of the video.
Just to let you know, from my last comment,I have now given up on the Italian Course I was doing.
I did my best, but my best was not good enough.I ask myself, should I give it another go,in the next
two years.I do not know. There must be a way.
I'm so sorry to hear that. Please don't give up. Please follow me on Instagram @intrepiditalian for daily lessons and DM me so I can help you overcome this challenge :)

still don't understand when to use -isco and when -o by -ire Verbs
the stems change and i dont know why--this is difficult
Am a beginner
Be careful, as you all tend to pronounce single consonants as double. For example you read -ano as -anno and the opposite, you read double as single, like sono=sonno (instead of "they are" becomes "sleep"). So single consonant are single, double are double, simple right??
I know this is an old vid but I have a question. Why is lei seen as formal? I thought lei meant she and lui meant he. Why would they be described as formal or informal when their just describing someone’s gender.
lei = she
Lei = you (formal) notice the capital letter which is not always used. It’s optional.
lui = he
Also note that in Southern Italy, voi is formal form, not Lei 😊 Don’t think of it as just gender but as how to correctly address people according to formality and number.
This is just a characteristic of the language that must be learned just like in English we have words that are spelled the same but mean different things eg. ‘I read every day’ vs ‘I read the book yesterday’.
@@theintrepidguide thank you so much!
