I like how they're proud that the protagonist is a "woman of color" in a universe with thousands of alien races, as if said alien races would care about a human's skin color.

Funnily enough, in real Star Wars (i.e. before Disney became involved), there was something similar, except that the concept worked.
The Empire had one alien admiral, Thrawn, who was a blue-skinned humanoid. This was significant because the Emperor was extremely speciesist, he hated all the non-humans.
Yet Thrawn still managed to become an admiral. Because he was an absolute tactical genius. And he was able to glean a deep understanding of an alien race just by looking at their art.
Just don't confuse the original Thrawn from Heirs to the Empire with the ridiculous version Disney had. That was a stupid person's idea of a smart person, since Disney doesn't have smart or talented writers.
And of course this new uncanney valley poster child doesn't qualify at all, since she doesn't prevail against real discrimination, only pretend discrimination as thought up by another talentless, dumb writer.

Yeah I dont think the bots will buy the game.
They expect the majority of consumers to just accept the obvious bots as legitimate, or not be aware of what's going on and essentially buy the game on blind hype alone. They think it works like the film industry (though that's starting to slip, too) where a few short previews/commercials and buzzwords are all you get to decide if you're watching or not. The games industry doesn't work that way, and even worse, they're catering to a population that doesn't have any money to even pretend to support it.
It will take another 3-5 years, if we're lucky, before the publishing companies finally figure it out. It always takes forever for businesses to wake up, especially when they've spent a decade doubling down.
The bots are supposed to convince us to buy it.

I remember when game companies gave us boxes filled with game soundtracks/ art books and other collectibles ontop of having the game itself for only $80.. does anyone else remember the era of "Collectors Editions"?
Blazblue Calamity Trigger, an indie fighting in in 2010... 30€ for the game, an artbook and a 2 hours dvd explaining fighting games to western audiences...
@@utarefson9 I have a collectors edition for Warhammer Online Age of Reckoning from 2010 as well, it came with artbooks/a full 30 page graphic novel hard back/ a custom Warhammer orc miniature (metal btw) and the game and soundtrack and full cloth map of the world.. for $70 usd
Then the market was flooded with the morons who don't realize that I can churn out 10 weapon skins an hour yet they pay $9.95 for them EACH.
I still have a couple of the old Fallout collectors editions, back when games had art books, physical copies of manuals, etc. Believe it only cost me like $60 at the time. I get that inflation is a thing and all that, but it's still wild to me that games are sold digitally and somehow cost MORE than physical games 5/10 yrs ago. Even physical copies of games today are incredibly bare bones, they don't even ship with manuals anymore. Anyone remember when GTA used to come with a full fledged colored map of the entire game and some artwork? Then for RDR2 you had to "upgrade" to more expensive versions just to get a map.

That 'feels great' clip at the start...really hits me in the feels as someone who's earliest clear childhood memory is watching the first Star Wars with the family on Cineprojector at home on the living room wall and being wow'ed by it.

The most amazing thing for me is them charging 70 euros for a game considering the fact that not one month ago they decided to delete another one of their games from their customers' libraries.

We should honestly just stop consuming media. Like every movie, video game, and TV show since like 2018 has honestly felt like when you were a kid and nothing was on TV so you rewatched the same rerun episode of Pokimon or whatever for the 800th time.

It's all an insurance scam. Companies take out big insurance claims on things like this and when a studio fails there's a big payout. So make it TO fail and claim they made *insert amount* money to investors using the words "overall we made *insert amount* off of this product."
This. All they need is a different name on each insurance document. Uwe Boll made a career out of movies that tanked so that he could claim on policies that he got other people to take out on his projects.

Its a giant tax scam that also pushes and agenda. BlackRock gives "investment funds" to get these awful projects made. Then when they fail, both companies get tax writeoffs and breaks from a capital loss. So they don't lose anywhere near as much and get to push an agenda.

Star Wars is the pinnacle of Frankenstein's reboots.
Pretty sure my collector's edition of Gal*Gun that came with *_three_* games, plushies, art booklet, and a bunch of other collector stuff was around $130.
And they're trying to sell a single digital game for that price along with an artbook of ugly characters and content they removed from the game just so they could charge you more for it.
If theres a company that i don't want any online or single player games its Ubisoft.
This would be like watching activision milking guitar hero all the way through the current gen systems
