After achieving his revenge he is actually very in peace, finally, leaving part of his treasure to a friend and going live in peace with his daughter, haydee
I dislike how he went from such a cool and unique weapon (flaming fists) and that Dantes is permanently gone, to a generic overdone sword, but yeah, I agree, it looks the coolest since it doesn’t have a million other design elements.
absolutely love his 2nd ascension, fantastic design overall, but was kind of sad that rui komatsuzaki (art designer for dangonronpa and OG Dantes and Cleopatra in fgo) didn't come back to design count of monte Cristo, but only because I was checking out his ascensionz=s and noticed it was a different illustrator, Usagi Rōto, not a bad thing as he probably had other plans going on at that time

So he has a NP mod that scales with burn, and he can apply burn easily with face card. Not only that, you can put on Command Codes with burns so he can stack burns even faster. On top of that, his NP can apply a defense down and a pierce invul and can stun. That is actually pretty good.

Didn't think they'd make a whole other unit (though it makes sense given the difference between this end of story ver. and dantés we already know). F/GO might be pulling me back in....
His kit has everything OG Dantes needs to get as a buff. Consistent 3T dmg buffs and star gather up. They went beyond and gave the new version a single target NP with a free dmg modifier, a multi-hit invuln, and good debuff immunity protection. While OG Dantes is built solely for farming, this one is made for challenge content.
I find it a bit funny both versions of Edmond Dantès are in the same Class, not complaining of course. The outfits in all of his ascensions would make Studio Gonzo's Count of Monte Cristo impressed.

With the exception of 2nd ascension, the designs for the other ascensions, as well as the battle animations and the NP itself, are far too excessive: it's quite jarring. Monte Cristo can and should be more elegant and stylish than this.
Sometimes a simple and straight forward kit is better than a kit that is very different, unique and niche which makes them end up in the Mid tier and forgotten tier. Also my man right here is the peak ST avenger (im sorry erice)

3rd ascension is... dissapointing. Skipping over the fact that he is overdesigned on what he has it's not great. His attack animations are lackbuster imo aswell, i feel like for what it lacked they tried to cover it with light shows but that's just me. If they had removed most of the light around him and gave him more sleek clothes instead of what he is wearing he would look better. His second outfit look ten times better, still overdesigned but not as much.
