- IN this video I talk about some of the questions I have had relating to the documentary " Rolling Moments" I made skateboarding through northern Luzon in the Philippines. I share some tips related to traveling, videography as well as general advise, plus some personal experiences that hopefully will inspire and motivate others to go skateboard or do something they have always wanted to do.
You can watch the original documentary " Rolling Moments" here

This video was available for rent on Amazon Prime titled "Rolling Moments", but I realized not all Filipinos have access to it so I posted it on youtube for everyone to see.

it was nice meeting you james. i love your work, please be safe!
thank you so much Charles! Hope to meet again someday!
You are amazing! I just don't understand why you are so underrated. For me you are the best! Keep it up and God bless you. 🙏
Thank you so much this means a lot I appreciate your kindness!
Thanks for sharing this backstory of your skateboarding adventure.
I was thinking about at least three things when I watched the actual video
1. Heat exhaustion / heat stroke,
2. Bathroom breaks, and
3. Which roads you have access to amidst road or highway regulations.
It's great that you have the necessary organizational + physical skills, motivation, and attitude for this kind of project. ✨️🫶🏻
And I guess, it also helped that the stars aligned and the heavens allowed for such feat to happen.
I hope the strained calves aren't causing you long term issues.
Big kudos! Looking foward to more videos.
Wow Thank you so much for watching it really means a lot!
Yes all 3 of those points you mentioned were very real things i thought about. Heat exhaustion I had to adapt my body to it through breathing and conditioning, Bathroom breaks well I would always just ask where a CR was at some stores along the way if i had to go. Roads I had no idea what to expect haha but i did try and take roads that seemed less traveled.
Yes when you have a burning desire and you believe it and feels right the stars always seem to align maybe not in perfect order but in a way that always makes it possible. The calf strain is okay , the body is like clay and can be molded in any way its amazing how well it can heal , but it starts in the mind :)
Thanks for your comments yeah I would love to do more in the Philippines soon .

We've watched your video a few times. One of the best story telling and film editing we've seen! Your talent is far and few between. Just one question. how did you get the drone shots?
wow Thanks so much guys for watching it again! that means a lot. The drone shots I actually brought one with me a dji mini, I forgot to mention it in the video lol I would just hold the controller in one of my hands while filming my self on some shots.
Very Awesome adventure
Thank you so much!
I knew it, you brought a gimbal! That's solid hard work, man!
Thanks! haha yes you were right it came in handy but it was kinda heavy! I wish there was one made of carbon fiber ultra light weight
Mahalo for sharing your adventure in Luzon James! There’s a haole guy, Kulas “Becoming Filipino” from Canada that rode his motorbike around Philippines. That’s great advice to “Just Do It” regardless of the situation/circumstances. I recently completed my 53rd/54th cruises departing from Port civitavecchia and port Genoa and rode trains/buses in between cruises to visit countries of San Marino, Monaco, Slovakia, Slovenia, Budapest, and Serbia (where yujic is from). I travel solo and have those anxieties before visiting those places. However, once I’m there, I’m just very busy exploring.
Btw, have you found a good place to have plate lunch in Puerto Rico? If you do, kindly let me know just in case I’ll be on a cruise to visit PR. I grew up in Waipahu and enlisted in the US Army after graduating from Waipahu High where I played varsity basketball. Again, Mahalo for sharing!
Nice! cool to hear your story, too! oh cool motorbike sounds fun actually. Thats so cool, I have never been to Europe besides England, yeah thats good that you just go for it, its true once your there in a place you just go with it and you don't really think about it lol. Yeah there is good food all over Puerto Rico honestly What I got to like was the sandwiches they make the best! There is a place called "Meson" started in Aguadilla its pretty good! and of course they have good Lechon there too. So cool to know you grew up in Waipahu, cool place! Mahalo for the good vibes!!
Good job 👍
Thanks!!!
Soooooo, how did you film shots like 28:15, 28:27 of your "skating through the philippines video"? Those from another trip?
Great question, so I brought a small drone, which I carried in my backpack, and If you look at my right hand you can see Im holding a phone thats controlling the drone through a wifi connection, it took some practice but was able to get some simple shots with no RC controller. Thanks for watching the vid!
saved for later
thank you ~

Yooohh .... Men You made it, I'm proud of you men, make your dream come across the island of the Philippines, I think kinda scared what your doing to explore in a foreign country. But it's an honor to do everything what you wanna do and I'm proud of you boy.
The government of this country want to phase-0ut all the jeepneys it so sad to all jeepney drivers.
Oh no really? when will they do that, its very sad! thats a big part of the culture!
@@jamesxpri it's not true this guy is misinformed
@@HyperionCC its true. i dont know if you dont watch news or just trolling, you know that there is a week long jeepney strike because the Govt want them to buy the new 2-3Million worth of so called Jeepney with bus feature.
@@jamesxpri There are still on going talks among those most affected - drivers, operators, local chassis manufacturers, concerned government agencies, etc. It's kind of status quo until the end of the year.
Some issues include the really high price for replacement units from local chassis manufacturers. Another thing is the opposition of many to the importation of mini bus looking units to replace dilapidated ones.
The "modern jeepney" proposed should have entry/exit doors on the right and ample ceiling height for non-seated passengers.
Here are other descriptions according to a government website:
"All jeepney engines should at least be Euro-4 and PNS- (Philippine National Standards) compliant engines or LPG-powered, electronic, and hybrid. Having GPS, an automated fare collection system and a CCTV camera are other features to look for to be considered as a modernized jeepney. Furthermore, at least 15 years old can no longer be registered or operated."
