    I don't think the jets just let Huff walk, I remember Huff saying in an interview after the season he wanted to be an every down player and I took note of that and said to myself hes gone, cus no matter how good you are, noone is an every down player on this dline, not even quinnen. The coaching staff preaches the rotation and it works, they're not gonna change that for him. Huff most likely made that point clear and the team agreed that he'd be better off somewhere else and let him go instead of tagging him and trying to trade him knowing they'd get a compensatory pick next year. Feels like a me move by Huff which by all means hes earned it, but putting your own playing time and stats over winning isn't what our team is about now

      Old news we got Hassan reddick and will McDonalds upside is to valuable where we picked him to not utilize the pick we fucked up when we didn’t trade before the deadline, we had offers…

    AVT’s best season he played LG all year, IMHO AVT should slide back to LG and push Simpson to RG.

      @austinberry9405 7 месяцев назад +4

      I honestly believe as long as he's not moving around to every position other than center this year and stays healthy he'll have his best year at the Rg position as well

    • @rashondemond
      @rashondemond 7 месяцев назад

      I agree but at the same time I think he’ll be at RG because if you put him on the left side next to Tyron Smith then the left side will be too strong while the right side might struggle at times. Think about it LEFT SIDE Tyron Smith & AVT. RIGHT SIDE John Simpson & Morgan Moses. They have to balance that out

    So what's crazy about kinlaw is i absolutely loved him coming out of college ik he was going to be a first round pick knew we werent getting him but ya he's been lack luster i just believe jeff and Robert know what they have and can fix him he has elite potential it just hasnt been there on the field

    Off topic I know but if Douglas drafts anything but OL then he’s only thinking short term and his job. As much as Bowers or one of the three top receivers might be sexy moves the more pressing need is OL. Injuries are bound to happen and we need proper back up in the trenches and maybe an immediate starter with Moses a swing tackle.

    Jets will have 14 1st rd picks on team this year...That has to be tops in NFL..
    Javon Kinlaw, Quinnen Williams, Hassan Reddick, Jermaine Johnson, Will McDonald, Solomon Thomas, Sauce Gardner, CJ Moseley, Aaron Rodgers, Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams, AVT, Tyrone Smith this years #10....See u in the playoffs 👍

    Overall this offseason was a low-risk high rewards type of contracts that was given out , but Joe Douglas definitely his thing he still got some more work to do especially in the draft

  • @Otterom
    @Otterom 7 месяцев назад +1

    These signings have a bit to much injury history to be comfortable with
    Having a legit backup QB has been the most pivotal signing
    Overall its fair to give it a C as far as the reddick signing to get a player of his caliber even for short term is a A

    Haasan Reddick's veteran resume with 3 other NFL teams compared to Bryce Huff's resume with the Jets is what gives me assurance that the edge rusher position is well compensated and covered from the FA wheeling and dealing that was done between the two teams. I like BH as the Jets edge rusher but Reddick has been there and done that with the type of stats he's accumulated which will make the Jets defense on the verge of being talked about as possibly one of the best defenses in NFL history depending on how they'll do in this coming season. And besides his birthday is on the same day as mine so that could be a good omen of things to come in 2024.

    What’s crazy is that Odell got 18 million off an acl tear but the jets got Williams for 10. I guess the league saw what Odell did last year which didn’t give Williams much bargaining power.

    Reddick is a three-down player whereas Huff was a pass rusher only. Huff played 46% of defensive snaps. Reddick played 78%. For the same money as Huff got, we have a 1-year insurance policy.

    I love your show ❤ I think the JETS are going to go all in on a WR or TE. There are O-line vets still available to backup the starters. I like moving down and drafting Brian Thomas Jr. Joe Douglas wants to win a SB within the next 2 yrs he's really not building for the future only the very near future probably blow it up when our drafted stars want to get paid.

    I will say, Rivka Boord wrote a great detailed article for Jets X factor detailing how the Jets BLOW the draft and how the Jets signed old broken down FAS.
    Gm Joke Douglas STILL has to draft legitimate O lineman and WRS.
    And yet we are talking about an undersized TE in Bowers.

    Hopefully the draft Joe Alt from Notre Dame or another young starter that plays offensive lineman. I would try to get another quarterback Michael Penix Jr. from Washington because. Tyrod Taylor is injury prone. Zach Wilson is still not the answer. Four quarterbacks make a lot of sense.

    1. Simpson = Though Simpson should be better than Tomlinson, Jets had more choices than Simpson vs. Tomlinson and didn't explore them. Simpson is undisciplined and too heavily penalized. Grade : C
    2. Taylor = good signing. Good backup QB. Grade : A.
    3. Fotu = has yet to distinguish himself on a football field. No idea where or if he fits in here. Grade : D
    4. Mike Williams = would be an A if not coming off the ACL injury. With the injury at 30 years old, you really don't know what you're getting. The uncertainty assumed at a position you really couldn't afford uncertainty at makes this a Grade : B, at best.
    5. Kinlaw = No idea how this guy got all this money. He must have an amazing agent. Kinlaw has yet to grade out as an effective starter, yet the Jets are paying him like he's at least a league average player. Jets had to have been bidding against themselves here. Grade : F
    6. Tyron Smith : A good move, especially if you can draft an effective swing tackle to back him up. He's old, but effective when on the field. Even if he only plays 75% of the year, he'll be worth what they're paying him. Grade : B+
    7. Morgan Moses : Would be an A+ move, if not for the revealed injury and subsequent surgery. Now, he comes with risk at a position the Jets can't afford risk at. As above with Smith, the Jets will absolutely need to draft a swing tackle early to cover this risk. Grade : B+
    8. Reddick : Would be an A+ move, if not for the fact that the Jets could have simply resigned Huff, who is younger and could have carried a lower cap hit for 2024. Grade : B.

  • @mikegreen3613
    @mikegreen3613 7 месяцев назад +1

    They all get a C- other than Reddick, who gets a C+. Other than Reddick, JD signed a huge injury risk or a 3rd sting player. As for Reddick, they let a much younger guy walk in Huff and signed the guy he replaced. Again, age plays a huge part in injuries. The Jets did not win the off-season like most say because they did not sign one so called oak player.

    Totally disagree, Taylor is not the backup the Jets should have signed. He’s an injury risk, he is a totally different QB type from Rodgers. For the $$$ they spent on him, JD should have opened the wallet wider and gone hard after Minshew, Brissett or gone after Howell or Fields.

    • @raymondmcmillan9241
      @raymondmcmillan9241 7 месяцев назад +2

      Maybe he will survive a bit longer? Because 2 of his injuries came against the Jets. Plus, his style of play could benefit? Because it's the opposite of Rodgers... keep the defense off guard.
