A lot of people recently seem to have hurt their wrists. Or maybe I'm just hearing about it more. When they ask for stretches, I basically tell them this. Keep in mind, that this may work for grade 1 sprains, but more serious injuries (like ligament tears) will almost certainly require some form of medical attention. Hope you all are doing well!
I had a horrible ex boyfriend last year break a pole over my head, thankfully I put my hand up in time to stop if fully hitting my head. I think it may have snapped on my wrist I had a concussion for about 2 weeks. I'm no longer with him & I pressed charges. But at 1st I couldn't put a bobble in my hair, which tbh is when I realised I had to move it no matter how sore it was. Looong story short I've always enjoyed your video's, but this is the 1st I've felt I needed to see. So thank you. All the best for 2022, stay blessed 💙💜🏴
Wrist injuries are the worst, I'm definitely guilty of the "my wrist hurts, but I'm gonna keep doing handstands" approach. Taking a few days and then stretching and strengthening is what actually works, though, imagine that. Those rotational stretches are awesome, thank you for this.
My wrist pains, not due to exercise, but due to exams, especially Biology and Economics, as they expect a lot to be written in under half the appropriate time... Have been doing this routine for quite a while now and it helped a lot! Thank you so much!
Thank you for this simple, easy to follow, warm and encouraging video. My wrists have been painful and stiff since increasing the frequency of my yoga practice, and admittedly my social media use. I'm taking a break from the latter, but I'm still subscribed to your videos. :)
Im assuming a bunch of us here were just watching you. Im just starting my journey and for the first time in my life i have focus on my strength and ability as a human rather than my weight solely due to all the videos i have watch of you this month. Also got to go back into a full swimm session which until now has been the only time i felt skilled in an activity even with asthma and not swimming for 2 years istill did the mile swim i could do befor my baby. That, along with your videos, has inspired me. I hope to come back to the channel in half a year on each video saying 'darn tootin you son of gun you were right i Can do ....' hahahhaa.
Hey, I'm just starting my journey too! For the firt time in my life I'm not too focused on the number on the scale or counting calories, i too recently took up swimming because I loved it as a child, and i have asthma too! 😆 it's weird reading your comment, it's like reading my own comment in a parallel universe! (Minus the baby part lol😆), anyway i hope you do well, i believe in you, and i'll check in with you in 6 months! 😊
Basically, this in addition to massage and grip strength activities was what my physical therapist recommend when I got a super bad forearm/wrist injury. You can even do some wrists and hand exercises with one hand while you hold your phone scrolling RUclips with the other! Obviously everyone is gonna be different, but this is solid!
@@johannes01 I usually climb in gyms and try to keep the sessions under 3 hours but that also includes breaks between routes! I usually only climb 1-2 a week so I’m definitely not the biggest expert on kinesiology nor climbing, but it’s definitely a great sport! (I mainly like these stretches a lot cause I play both drums and guitar so I want to avoid tendinitis as much as I absolutely can!)
I like that I've done those stretches and still do those stretches for my hands before knowing it was kind of a beneficial thing. I just do it because it felt good when my hands would cramp up while typing. You really do learn something new every day.
Thanks man, you have really improved my life over the last few months. I may not watch your videos religiously but i defiantly take what you say and apply it. It has led me back for more. Appreciate your time and effort.
I just want to thank you! I injured my right wrist at the gym and couldn't rotate or put weight on them. I used this video as reference everyday for 2 straight weeks (and got plenty of rest) and it's now completely healed! Again, TYSM!
Straight to the point, amazing personality, calming demeanor, makes it super beginner friendly without making us feel like toddlers, and gives us simple instructions for quantity of stetches when, all in a short vid, 12/10 vid my guy
I needed this. I’m doing illustrations and digital art for most of my day and fighting games for breaks, so hand cramps are pretty typical for me. Thanks Hampton!
This here completely set my minor tfcc wrist back in action.. I’m so grateful for this simple exercise…. I’ve tried everything from wrist braces to every advice under the rock.. all I needed was the release of inflammation facilitated by this thanks
Bless you for this video, both my wrists are shot and getting steadily worse and I finally decided I'd better do something about it before they betray me completely. Clicked RUclips to look up wrist stretches and this was already at the top of the page! Excellent timing :D
Doooood! I have a wrist injury from my production work. I was talking to my boss tonight, and asked to see the Safety mgr tomorrow. This video came in my feed at the PERFECT TIME!!!
Thanks Brother ! I have pain in my left wrist and left lower trap. I couldn’t do the trap pain relief exercises with the wrist pain, these did relieve the pain temporarily.
It worked, because I came back from gymnastics, I injured myself, trying to do a backbend walk over so thank you so so so much for this tutorial because my hands are much better than before
I've had small pains for a couple of weeks now. It's only started to get a little bad and I no joke did this once just now and I feel like I lost half of the discomfort. Definitely gonna keep doing it cheers.
Great tips Hampton! Best to always keep your injured joint mobile within pain free ROM that it is to let it sit. Especially, once you've stretched it enough to bear weight, as you want to do that as soon as possible, without any pain of course.
Anyone who is getting into calesthenics or rock climbing must do this on a daily basis, as warm up and cool down, will prevent so many wrist injuries from ever happening..
My wrist was hurting few days ago like if I pulled a muscle there and I did majority of these stretches for a few days its kinda common sense stretches cus u can't really do much with ur wrist n they did help. Thanks for giving this for other ppl 💪
im glad i finally ran across this! ive always pressed down really hard when in writing, and every job and hobby ive ever had involves repetative wrist movements. my wrists have gotten really painful in the last couple years. im going to try these to see if it helps! i want to start exercising more, so i know taking care of that will be really important since the pain prevents me from doing certain exercises
oh perfect timing! my wrists hurt a lot and constantly from baking and playing guitar and sometimes even from normal stuff like brushing my teeth… I’ve been teaching myself how to use my left hand to do stuff so I won’t damage my other wrist as much but now I’m going to try this stuff, thanks!!
I'll see if I can remember to do them all in my warm up. I have carpal tunnel syndrome in both of my wrist, and sometimes after workout my wrist do hurt. I got surgery on my left one but unsuccessful so now I just kind of have to live with it : ') Thanks
Yea my wrists are pretty much constantly hurting, sometimes less, sometimes more. I've been doing some stretches for a while too, and while they help a little bit it doesn't fix them completely. It's worse when I have to type for a bit longer, use my mouse a lot and sometimes while drawing (even tho that is usually not as bad). Probably need a way to strengthen them too, instead of just stretching. But I'll be going to a Doctor soon to get them checked out, cause I really have to fix it before it gets any worse. I hope it'll help...
You're right. You need to also strengthen, as well as stretch. If you all you do is stretch, that will help to align fibers, but it also makes the muscle weaker. To prevent injuries, it's always recommended to do both, in pain free ranges of course, as RSI(repetitive stress injuries) are less likely to happen in joints that go through full ROM bearing weights.
thanks Hampton this kind of tips are just the best. Never felt my wrist hurting and now I was looking for something to take care of them. I will also go to the doctor just in case

Maybe the cold weather and wrist injuries are related
