A rainbow, a mega-length train, and NS with CSX trains, all in one video! That'll make my rails shine for my 66th birthday on Sept 24!. Great video! Thank you!
That was a nice rainbow at the beginning of the video. That 2nd train was a very long train too. You know, those long trains are easier to handle than a short train. Short trains really keep you on your toes more 😅. Hey I love your place, it’s really nice. Sad story about your dog. You know Jawtooth, I think selective logging is the only way to log. That way you’re thinning out the unwanted trees and giving the other trees more sun and space. It also encourages more new growth and reprod. Anyway cool video. 👍❤️
Thanks for watching my video and thanks for your comments! I'm glad I got my farm when I did. At the time I didn't think I could afford it but I know I wouldn't be able to today with the way the prices have gone up. I was land rich and money poor for years and years lol
Awesome, a rainbow in background. Love this train Mr JT. Wish I was there to see some of these trains in person.❤ This video was so good will watch it again. Love your background history of your farm and dreams. Loved the fur babies. Thanks and God bless.❤😊
Trains out in the countryside are some of my favorite videos of yours to watch. Also love when you show us your property with all the trees and fields, it's beautiful! I was raised in the Sabine National Forest in East Texas near the Louisiana border, big trees are special to me. I moved to the Xenia Ohio area back in 2011. So much beautiful farmland and trees have been cleared out to make room for housing developments. It really breaks my heart to see all that beauty gone and the woodland animals loose their home. Thank you for keeping yours and not selling out🙂
Wow! Excellent catching both the trains and the rainbow, I like them, they're awesome, @JawTooth, Brian, thank you very much and have a nice day and night.
Outstanding rainbow behind trains, doesn't get any better than that. Sad to hear about the loss of your dog. That would try my patience. Thanks for sharing. 👍
Nice rainbow!! I got to see 2 trains at the same time this morning at 9 AM. In CARLISLE, PHIO. NS and CSX, both South bound! I got to use the tunnel by pass on the 1st one! CSX had 2 empty box cars with doors open at the end. DPU in the middle!
Im sorry, that was a sad story about you dog, I dont know if I could keep it together if I found my pet like that. Could you take some more videos of Baby, I really like her. Thank you for the good video.
I know .. i sent my message before i found out about his poor dog..omy gosh JT hearing that squeal😢....our cat of 23 years passed ..i have her rosewood box of ashes with paw and nail print..born 11-9-2000 to 1-19-2024..its been very hard but the memories are a blessing😊i like the horse to..baby!..take care.
We started our farm of 20 acres in 1998 after many years of searching. My dearly departed mother found it in a farm weekly newspaper. We also don`t allow hunting either. Terrible to lose one of your dogs that way. We have had to post our property due to to all the crazy people who want to come & ride or play with our Thoroughbreds while we`re gone somewhere! We caught one crazy young girl on one of our young horses! We told her that we had not been on his back yet!! Did you notice the Pan Am rail car in the consist of the CSX train? Wonder if that was a rail car used by the now defunct airline back many years ago at one time? Always appreciate your showing the entire consists. The local rail fan videographers here in Oregon usually don`t. We also have been very dry & are abnormally dry designation by the NWS. We`re to have 1/2" of rain tomorrow.
This is a really great Sunday morning with trains in Kentucky, CSX and Norfolk Southern trains, rain, wind, rainbows, live action pets dogs and cats and of course the train slide show and it doesn't anymore better than this Thank You Jaw Tooth.🚂🚃🚃🇺🇲
Hey jaw tooth awesome trains and rainbow. Your land is cool and huge. Sorry about your dog being killed. You should build a garden railroad in the woods. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
Heh, 216 Cars et.c. + Loco's on that 3-mile consist...from what I could make out anyway. The light picks up better on these electronic cameras so the CSX made it through fine. You must have some choice lumber there. Some trees reach their natural 'Peak Of Growth' so thin them out and let the others get the light and all. Some session. Cheers!
Great spot, super long train, one at dusk. Super. I bet you ordered that rainbow just for your video. Love the farm tours. Hi to Chessie and Loki. Stay safe. ❤
It's a great video, and I think you even hit a rainbow. Also like seeing your Australian shepherd and your Blue Heeler and your back 40 bean field. Brian you done GOOD. THANKS
Another awesome video JT and it looked like that rainbow was pretty close. You should’ve went over there and seen if you could’ve found that pot of gold and you could’ve bought some more land but talking about logging that timber on your land if you don’t at least cut the logs out of it it’ll start thinning itself out. Those bigger trees will start dying and you will lose a lot of money because just by looking at it of what you filmed you got some nice hardwood logs in there and up in there where y’all live they pay good money for hardwood timber cause most time they cut it and use it for furniture or cross ties different things but if you don’t thin it out it’ll thin itself out and then you will be losing a lot of money but anyway as always you stay safe out there and watch your back and we’ll see you on the next one
Thanks 😊 My goal when I was a little kid was to have 5 acres and a wife and kids. I stuck with it and never owned a new car so that I could get there. I’m blessed 😊
Or so cars, including 2, I believe, loads of plate steel and an untagged TTX box car! Great catch, my friend. It could be the longest I've seen east of the Mississippi! A stunning train. Thank you so much! 😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks for the wonderful video today, JT! You fimed awesome trains today, and us a very nice look at your dogs, the woods, and your bean field. I live in the country, too, and enjoy seeing farm land. You and yours enjoy the weekend, and we'll see you later! 😃😃😃😃😃😃❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Ohhhhhh, sheeeeesh!, nice catch on the deteriorating railhead!, that could be trouble at some point! It doesnt surprise me that overlength trains could very easily lose contact with FRED, thats another safety issue❗
That long train had just about every rail car available except for an Intermodal! Nice catch, JT! Nice shots of the farm and dogs but still looking for that ManCave Caboose on the farm.
Well, just watched another great video by yours truly. “Thank you “ and to see the first rainbow this year. That is truly awesome to see God’s work and your work together. God’s blessings on you and your family.
“Smoke Em” Jaw Tooth….! Another great railroad video, thanks a lot Brian….. These videos bring back so many memories of my railroading days…. It’s great to watch…. I always thumb you up 👍…Great job and glad you’re doing something you love…! Greg in IN
my fathers ancestors came from Scotland plus Ireland ended up in the state of Colorado plus San Francisco California way back when plus my moms ancestors came from Spain ended up in central America Panama plus French ancestors sorry for getting off topic.
But wait.. theress moree! A rainbow!😂 live action on the ground and in the air! Nice catch JT👍 as i cont. To watch the end of your video👉..update ..im so sorry about the loss of your dog that is so tragic. And these people were trespassing. Thank you for sharing the history of your land. Love the country as i do a lot of hiking here along the Illinois river..1994 was a big year for you and not so good for me..interesting year.. but your dogs lokey and chessie r so cool..sorry about it i messed that spelling up. God bless you, the pets🐶🐈❤🐕🐈⬛..and your family.
Thanks Jawtooth. Another awesome video. Loved the beautiful rainbow 🌈 and the way you wove it into the story line. That 3-mile long NS manifest was ridiculous and another reason why I dislike PSR. Great commentary, keep it going. Love it.
Thanks JT, Just back from being away, Nice Movements, You can really hear them coming a long way away that's for sure,. Be cool on a nice Clear Frosty, Morning to see and hear these behemoths hard working come along, Big Trains all right, I've heard In some circles at places that they might start Trialling flashing Blue / Red Ditch Lights or mid point I guess on the nose and Reverse End but if they don't stop now I fail how seeing those colours will change anything, I could be wrong...... Thanks For Another Great Video JT, Always Appreciate Them. Me, I've got a 787 to captain tomorrow, Should have listened to my Dad and become a train Driver as we always in our community of Gatton in Qld have lots of Rail Crews, Exchange Driver's and Maintenance Guys and Girls, Always enjoy a Counter Meal and a Drink with them when I Have a run of clear days at the Local Tavern... You Take Care out there...Also Hello from All the Rail Guys here in Gatton, I showed this to them last night our time.... Love your work they say.....
I watch all your videos because I have family in Milford Ohio and I enjoy seeing that area. I grew up in Louisville so the Ky videos are interesting to me also. You have shown me some areas i did not know about. Keep up the good work!!
Its heartbreaking to lose a beloved pet after many years, ive been that route a few times, and if my current house panther passes before i do, i know i will lose it, he has been my buddy through thick & thin.
I have grandchildren in Milford, Loveland and near Dayton. I lived in Cleveland and Ft Wayne. I'm now in Florida close to csx s-line. Not a lot of trains unless I go south toward Tampa. I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up!
You know Jaw Tooth the railroads successfully argued that FRED had made the caboose obsolete. However, when a train is so long that FRED doesn't work then the railroads should be required to have a crewed caboose at the end of the train.
That shot of first N/S with rainbow would make a beautiful screensaver! Awesome 2nd train wow that was long! One of longest I've seen it was moving pretty fast too. Nice CSX dusk train JT, the days are getting shorter! 😮 have a great week JT whatever wherever you are up to, be safe, hugs to all your pets 😊❤👍
Nice catch on that rainbow, JT. Not for nothing, I caught two rainbows on two different days while out railfanning just last week and in each case no rain fell. It's a good omen, I believe.

The first Norfolk Southern train crossing Locust Street in Walton, Kentucky with the rainbow in the background was a magnificent sight, Jaw Tooth! You could not have asked for a better backdrop than the rainbow. The Norfolk Southern train that was close to three miles long must be the longest train that you have captured on video. I agree with you when you say that there are fewer trains on the CSX line at Locust Street so the crossbucks and "Yield" signs are all the protection needed for the CSX tracks. The residents are familiar with the times when the CSX trains come past, so they know when to be more cautious when approaching the CSX tracks. (Posted 15 September 2023 at 1445 CDT.)

213 cars with 3 locomotives. Wow impressive. Great video JT.
seems like more locos needed than 3. Also 213 cars is a lot but Ive seen 300, and that EOTD worked, so maybe a malfunction? JT is the best.
Thank you very much!😊
Good morning to you, JT!! Beautiful rainbow!!!
Good morning!

Hey jaw tooth awesome trains and rainbow. Your land is cool and huge. Sorry about your dog being killed. You should build a garden railroad in the woods. Have a great railroad day. 🚂🙋♀️
The incidence of refraction of water droplets and the requisite sun angle and poof, a rainbow. Great after the storm action, liked it much. Thanks JT!

Awesome catch Jawtooth! With a rainbow in the background! 🌈👍
Great catches and that rainbow was definitely cool as the train went by it
(...as a 23 year road conductor) Yes, we see this problem all the time. It's generally only a problem when we are in areas with lots of curves, rocks and hills that interfere with the radio signal. On very long trains (usually over 12k feet) the RR uses mid train locos with repeaters to relay the signal to the etd at the rear. Most modern ETD's have an internal turbine that generates the electricity needed to operate, and these types seem a bit less robust than the older battery type.
Thanks for your comments! That is interesting. The dispatcher had this train reduce its speed also and I think it was 25mph. Not positive now though. The repeater is a great idea for the mid train DPUs
I may take a trip to that area next summer..Enjoyed the video
The first Norfolk Southern train crossing Locust Street in Walton, Kentucky with the rainbow in the background was a magnificent sight, Jaw Tooth! You could not have asked for a better backdrop than the rainbow. The Norfolk Southern train that was close to three miles long must be the longest train that you have captured on video. I agree with you when you say that there are fewer trains on the CSX line at Locust Street so the crossbucks and "Yield" signs are all the protection needed for the CSX tracks. Good morning Jaw Tooth.
Cool Video with a Rainbow in it too at the Start!
Great video JT, did you notice if there was a pot of gold at the end of that Rainbow.😁
TY. Lots of fun.
Great video today!
Thank you!
Awesome video with a rainbow and more DPUs !!
Nice touch on the rainbow!!
Hello Brian, as usual, great video and scenery.
Curiosity question:
Why some trains have a flashing red light at the end while, others don't?
Is there a regulation about this or each company applies their own rules?
Thanks for sharing ❤
This train No. 178 had about 230 cars. This shows the power of the locomotives to be able to pull this many cars up hills.
Have a blessed Sunday folks..
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Awesome live action
That sure is a beautiful rainbow
Great catches and awesome video of the rainbow
214 cars, thank you for the great video.

Sure do miss Hobo Shoestring and his videos. 😇 🛤
Gm Brian man that 2nd train was so long!
Is that the ex-Southern " Rathole " line to Cincinnati ?
7:14 Jaw Tooth summons the DPU. 🤣🤣
I love how the NS crossing has a thing noting its one track.
Excellent Work: A+
.
Thank you! Cheers!
The trains too long when FRED says "nope".😄
Yup lol
