That back end has major issues. There is more there to be found. The tub could be cracked and moved with the frame. Its shifted for sure. Corvettes dont rub panels...I have 5 of them. Its workable but that car is tweaked hard and pushing the rear cradle is what I suspect.
That would make sense if the rad supports was designed to handle the weight of the car on it. Its made of very flimsy aluminum and the rollers lower the front closer to the ground 1" so just more likely yo break
@Gregory Hicks Likely so, I just think that was their design intent. I know back in 2008 when I was working at a speed shop in KC, a Corvette came in with those and that's what the owner said they were for...?
@@gregoryhicks8902 Surprisingly enough, it does work if you're going slow enough. Where they're placed tends to load the frame directly above since force is transferred through the ends of the support. It's not a perfect solution by any means, but it's better than replacing the support twice a year. It also helps when getting the car on a trailer.
You're video quality is amazing and you guys are usually entertaining and informative but you gotta figure something out for more frequent posting. I know content can be a struggle but I think if you guys really throw into this you'll blow up quick.
agreed, one day we shall but one thing we learned is time is of the essence. everyone has to work at the moment to provide the funds for the content lol. UNLESSSS we vlog but i guess we need to test that out to see if people would be interested 🤔.
The wheels around the front radiator support (aka, "crash bar") are there to keep from breaking the support when, for instance, pulling into a driveway with a sharp incline. It's janky, but it works.
Seems to me like the whole body is twisted. I mean, if one side's big and one side's small... nay, touching, then it's ass is twisted. And that wheel is forward + the break was on that side. One way to figure sh!t out would be to establish the meeting point from the windshield to the roof as holy territory and measure from there with trammel points. Then you'll know for sure. The windshield can't be bent, so it should be the main line for measuring. AND, it wouldn't be out of this world that the whole thing's bent, it is a non metal structure, so technically speaking a bit weaker to stuff like this than a normal car.
I don't know if $10,000 for an 18 year old Corvette is a really good deal , or just proof that there's some sanity left out there . Crazy thing is , I could sell my Ford Ranger . And I would have enough money to buy a C5 Corvette , and then some . Crazier yet the LS1 gets better fuel economy than the 4L V6 in my Ranger .
‘Something going on with the shifter’. Dude you will laugh once you pull the knob and boot and have a look at the janky setup; it’s the worst part of the Vette (besides the mis-matched weird blueish greenish display leds). Upgrade IMMEDIATELY to a billet short shifter from someone like MGW and it will shift like a Porsche
@@StreetBandito It's something Trump supporters squawk when Joe Biden is mentioned. "F*ck Joe Biden" along with Let's Go Brandon. They're literally so brainwashed that even a joke about Biden's Corvettes gets those snowflakes riled up. 😂

I don't know if anybody answered or not. But those wheels on the front are so you don't scrape the bumper going up a driveway or speed bump.
Cherish Layer, I almost died laughing, omg! Great seeing a new upload from you guys, thank you and take care!
Back with fire! Sweet deal you got on that one

Greg content. Nice. It's been a minute.

Those wheel things are supposed to help ride up and over curbs/etc so you don’t bottom out. They don’t work really well, according to some engineers.

Before Covid in 2020 you could get a 05 06 & 07 for under $10,000… my buddy got a 09 corvette for $11,000 with 79,000 miles
The wheels under the bumper are so the lower radiator support bar doesn’t scratch but i don’t know how useful they are really
