Modified 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 - One Take

- The Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 (sold as the GTO in Japan and overseas) was an incredibly advanced and complex car for its time; it was eventually priced out of the US market at the end of the 1990's alongside the Supra, 300ZX, and RX7. This one has been modified with a full exhaust, intake, coil over suspension, and the darkest window tints we've ever seen.

Hey this is my car! Just wanted to say thanks to all 255k people that watched the video! Also thanks to Matt for having me on. Also wanted to clear up the smoking issue. It was actually the front brakes overheating causing the smoke. Running a 3700 lb with two heavy guys up and down a canyon for 13 minutes will do that lol. I have Hawk HPS pads which are great for spirited street driving but they will overheat on a track or a hard canyon run.
Andrew McIntosh I have a
97 not a vr4 tho i like mine
Granville Friel Nice!
Andrew McIntosh Grab some rotors from BrakeMotive, and it’ll never happen again. Be it canyon roads or on the track. They sell exclusively on eBay, and are dirt cheap. You’ll thank me, I promise.
He is fat...
Lol, thanks for sharing man. Killer car! I was born in 82 so I know the significance of these cars.
VR4 owner here, the hate in these comments is expected. People who've never owned, driven let alone even SEEN a VR4 saying "it didn't break at least 3 times during the shoot". Not sure why these cars attract so much hate, I daily mine and have for years, rain snow or shine and its never broken down or let me down. Apart from regular maintenance like oil changes, timing belt etc. I never had to fix anything.
aryanenzo typical statement by someone who owns a unreliable car
I also had a VR4 for 5 years and it really doesn't have many problems, its a crowded engine bay sure, but I've worked on pickup trucks that are tight as well. You sit so low in these things, its really quite neutral in cornering and the 4ws makes the turnin very crisp, a car I miss owning despite a bit tough to source parts and a bit tough to work on (25spline output shaft set)
The bad reputation comes from back yard mechanics that are in over their heads with trying to mod an unforgiving engine that is difficult on a good day to work on. Coupled with an engine computer that does not like to be messed with or tuned. Most guys do not know how to trick that computer without blowing up their engine. This is the cause of the bad reputation. If you mod this car you must know what you are doing. Most do not then they sell that half assed mod to some body else and it becomes the new owners headache. First time he opens up the throttle and parts fly out. Busted this or that. Story becomes most unreliable car ever. Stock these cars go well beyond 300,000 miles on routine maintenance. But it has an interference engine. meaning if you do not change out the timing belt every 60,000 miles which is not cheap, you will probably trash the entire engine. This by the way is part of the routine maintenance. These cars cost about 2k these days used. The cost of doing the timing belt is about 1,500. Almost the same price as the car itself. It is not a car to cut corners with. If you put off or delay maintenance because you are short of cash it will come back and cost you triple when it does break. I have owned my 95 vr4 for 18 years and it never broke down on me and left me stranded.
YES
I have 3 cars - Mazda 6, Audi A3 and a VR-4 that is 500hp. From the three I trust only my VR4 for a long trips. Sorry, but this car has never let me down, not even a single time!
I know I'm in the minority, but in my opinion, these are the best looking of the 90s JDM heros.
Richard Ross best looking yes but not the most reliable ones😀
This car is all looks. That's the only thing it has going for it. If Mitsubishi brought the 7G and 8G Galant VR4 over nobody would care about this car lol.
Kanaric. No, I definitely would. Since I've wanted one since they were still new on the show room floor when I was 10, and have owned one for almost 7 years. Playing Grand Turismo as a Kid and this being almost a star Car lf the game sealed the deal for me. The Supra, RX7 and GTR didnt do it for me.
First time I saw one Neighbor across the street brought home a brand new 1999 VR4. At the time I had no idea what it was, All i knew was I wanted it.
When I retire at 50, I will have 3 cars in the main portion of my garage among my collection. A Ferrari F50, Jaguar XJ220, and parked between them will be the same VR4 I have today.
I think the 300ZX is the better looking out of the 1990's Japanese trio of sports cars (That were available in the US.) Exterior wise, all you'd really need to do if you were Nissan, is put some modern LED tail lights, Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, and a 17 or 18 inch wheel and you'd have a car that could go on dealership lots today. And if it had the V6 from the 370Z as a base engine option and something like a de-tuned version of the VR38DETT for the higher spec models, along with a good 6 Speed as standard, along with a DCT as an optional transmission.
Designed by Speed In my opinion, look wise the FD Rx-7 does it for me.
In the orginal Gran turismo this thing was a beast.
Hell yeah this would be the fastest car with the upgrades. You could get it to like 246mph i believe. Yeah the 1st 2 or 3 GTs it was the shit.
I always wanted to buy one and paint it in that green or dark purple with the white stripe. Probably would look ricer as hell now but tell me it wouldn't put a smile on your face if you saw one.
hell yeah
Hell yeh man for sure! Fastest up-gradable car in the game back then. :) Thanks for sharing your member berries! :P
that was the one part of the game that made no sense, 1100 hp 3000gt's and skylines and supras stuck at 600-800
I like how they ignore "Danger to manifold" warning for most of the video
lmao!!!
Leuff "But Dude I almost had you"..
the 'danger to manifold' warning ws only an option in the lime green 'buster edition' versions
NAILED IT
Wrong car. It was an Eclipse in FnF
Glad he escaped the Amish and got the whip he always wanted.
Jack1138 W
Jack1138 savage!!!!
RUclips COTD.
hahahaha
Jack1138 loooooooooool
For being a 20+ year old vehicle its a very good looking car
It's HEAVILY modded.
By far the cleanest one I've ever seen
Loved the 3000gt in high school, great to see them still being modified.
What happened to you Mitsubishi? You used to be cool.
Now they make the Mirage GT with 78hp.
They want to make hybrid slow cars now...
bro the mirage is lit thoooooooooo
The did a multi year hard sell on zero down, no payments for a year and no interest loans to anyone no matter their credit. This was mid 2000's before the recession. They didn't think that Americans would sign up for loans they had no ability or even intention of even paying off. Well, many people did - got a free car for a year then gave it back to Mitsubishi saying oh well my credit score already sucked.
They were left with thousands of cars that 1 year later after harsh ownership (and likely not even an oil change) were worth less than it cost them to manufacture. They lost a lot of money and tanked the resale market on their vehicles. Which means why buy a 2008 when a used 2007 costs half as much?
Then the coolant lines they made for San Onofre nuclear power plant north of San Diego were found to be faulty decades before they were supposed to be rated for and the bill was going to be $7.6B in settlements and repairs. Mitsubishi finally gave up on life and now just produces shit.
Yeah the Mirage Cyborg zr maybe!
When the first Gran Turismo game came out this was the car i spent the most time racing .
Same, and I've owned one a decade now...
Awesome , i haven't even seen one of these on the road , only the Dodge rebadged version .
This car was ahead of its time. Still holds up well 20 years later.
This VR4, Stealth, RX7, and Supra are aome really beautiful touring cars...good old days!
"The AC works well, it's pretty cool"
thats when you know matt farah doesnt even care about one takes anymore he just wants to be comfortable lol
/╲/\╭( ͡° ͡° ͜ʖ ͡° ͡°)╮/\╱\ THAT moment when i keep noticing your comments on different unrelated videos lol
Jason W. Morningwood the climate in this car looks so cool
i think this car deserved more respect than it got
Fantastic car. I am not a JDM guy, but this car just appeals to me. Heavy and underpowered vs competition, but sounds good and doesnt scream "rice." And to the guy in the Sentra....shame...
These deff were not underpowered lol.. But I get ya
Yeah, I always loved these cars and this one is very well done. I like it.
ChaosphereIX Heavy and underpowered but still faster than the r32, r33, r34 GTR, MK4 Supra, and FD in the Japanese 1/4 Mile (400M)
don't believe me? youtube Best Motoring 1994-11
blackmount1 was just going by a review I read years ago. The things you learn thx.
Must have been an article/review by some stance fanboy kid. That would mean the Supra, and GTR are also heavy and under powered since they had the same power output...
The only reviews you should truly take to heart on these cars are ones from when they were brand new, and time could not take any effect on them.
I have a large book that has every article written for 3000GT by all the major magazines from 1990-1999. I've read it obsessively, one of the best articles in there is called "Fast Five" from 1991, and features various cars including the 3000GT and the NSX where it tests and breaks down the performance data, the 3000GT killed the test, and even put down a faster lap time then the NSX.
I swear I saw this car almost 3 years ago at Huntington Beach, looks amazing my favorite car of all time only got to own 2 non turbo models SL and Base
one of the best owners to listen to on this show so far. Props for keeping the car clean. Enjoyed this one!
I love when the passenger always try's to sneak a look at the speedo when matt start to rip it
I love the videos where Matt and the owner of the cars have immediate chemistry...makes the videos so enjoyable
great ride man.I friend of mine had the 91vr4 that' thing was great.its nice o see a few pple bringing back out older Mitsubishi
This is the 3000gt I saw at Mod 2015 with the brown interior, one of the best I've seen!!
These cars also didn't sell because of price. I think these VR4's (especially the hard top convertible) stickered in the mid to high $60k range! And for that you could get faster cars. That being said, I have always loved these!!!
shaggyusm26 the VR4 Spider was $63,000 in 1998. That's $92,000 today.
straight the hell up...it's like mitsubishi was TRYING to stunt their sales.
shaggyusm26 wow that's incredible epically considering C5's and Vipers weren't even that expensive.
shaggyusm26 Some VR4 spyders had retarded dealership markup. Some broke $100,000
Michael Felchlin That's true for the 3000GT as a model, but the particular model I'm talking about cost $65,000 new. May have been marked up, but that's what it cost new at a local dealership. At the time (to my knowledge) it was the only power retractable hardtop on the market.
I remember driving this GTO in New Zealand 15 years ago, this 4WD twin turbo beast has been so underrated.
That Beep Sound coming from WaterTemp Gauge overheating lol
I fuckin love the 3000GTs. They're often overshadowed by the Supras, Skylines, RX7s, and even the Z's but these helped me get into cars and tuning so they will always hold a place in my heart.
I TINT MY LIGHTS SO THEY WORK LESS
FrankTheCat lol never understood why people do that. I guess they like rear end collisions...
who needs to see where theyre going when they can look cooler! Other people dont need to see them either!
it looks good when its not THAT dark and it's still usable... but on this is ugly and doesn't fit the car anyways
This is my TOY car... this is my REAL car. LOL
I wonder if you could be ruled partially at fault for a rear end collision by having your tail lights so dark that it's hard to tell if you're braking? I've had a couple of close calls with people that have tinted tail lights and people with shitty eBay aftermarket tail lights that the tail lights are almost exactly as bright as the brake lights so when they brake you can barely tell the difference in the brightness.
That warning sound was driving me mad.
I was like "can anybody hear that or is it just me?"
The car is awesome, timeless style and very good sounds :)
Pretty sure the Hyper Blue Medallion is made by Tanabe, not HKS. Always had a soft spot for these cars. They seemed to never have a bad angle.
correct
Yeah it's a Tanabe product.
Whatever happened to Tanabe? They used to make some dope exhaust systems. Are they still around?
iLL Pearce As far as I can tell, they're still around, even in the US. But they've never been as big or as well known as companies like HKS, Apex-i and Trust/GReddy for whatever reason.
I've been living in Japan for 14 years and I've not seen but a few of these in that time. Always a pleasant surprise when I do see one!
I've always been a fan of this car. I mentioned the Pulsar GTi-R to one of my friends back in highschool and he found this as a counter pick. lol.
this video would have been better if I dint just burn the fuck out of the roof off my mouth and tongue eating a hot pocket. let it cool 5 minutes and then blast. worst part was the middle was still cold.
r u ok
I dont think he is.
Tumleren I'm better now. just can't eat captain crunch or anything abrasive for the next few days/weeks.
I feel you with the cereal abrasion problem. Used to do the same thing with hot pizza.
Bill Murray the worst is with a fresh toaster strudel.
These cars were ahead of their time. Even to this day they're an all time favorite.
I had 4
3000gt's and 4 stealths. love them
Me too then
I'm always amazed at often I still see these on the road and on the used market.
I've always loved these cars... too bad if they were to bring this car back it would be over 80k easy
Mitsubishi car industry is pretty much dead.
nope they now with Renault-Nissan. New hybrid gto-gtr coming up i hope
Yeah, no. We have better AWD systems now and twin turbo V6s are in $40k cars and soon to be in the Fairlady Z at $35k.
Can't express how much I enjoy these videos Matt. Keep on doing what you're doing.
Also gotta say that car is GORGEOUS.
Great car, and I miss mine! Andrew's driver's seat appears to be too high, (driver's knees in the wheel) maybe it's been raised slightly? My personal preference is to be as close to the floor as possible while also maintain a straight line view over the hood. The car translates the road better in a firmer seat, and near the floor. The suspension seems stiffer than stock. The weighty feel is just right IMO. It's a GTO, comfort and cruise is part of the package, a lighter feel would not be a GTO. I have found the base model to vary in performance car to car. Some base models are more torquey, mine had something extra at the top end, easy to light up the tires, (and keep them going through 2nd) and it broke traction (front wheels) at the top end in 2nd range, that would be 68 MPH at red line. I fault the base trans as being too wide in gear spacing... a 6 speed would be heaven. The base model is not a car nobody wants, I disagree.. it's lighter at 3200 Lbs, an advertised hp of 220 varies... some cars develop more than that.. it's a four cam engine (cross flow head) which really should do better than the advertised figure. The 3000GT does corner flat, and these cars are underrated IMO.
after watching this I give a lot more respect for the vr4.this is the cleanest and best looking one I've ever seen. great job beautiful car
why do people keep bringing him stock vr4's? how about a DR750/650 car,19t car, or heck ill settle for a 15g car at this point. someone please bring him a modified version.
misanthropist111 those simply do not exist in CA. Plenty of people offered big power ones in the past; none were within any reasonable distance of me.
check out bboyalan youtube channel he is from san diego. guy do bunch of 3000 gt and dsm
Modded VR4s are the most unreliable car ever, that's why lol. They are worse than a B5 S4 by at least twice over. Wait until 7g and 8g Galant VR4s come, they are better performing and more reliable cars with mods.
Cause it will fall apart lolololol DSM´s are shit. lol
SI RICKO 3000 gt is a pure JDM
Always loved the 3000gt vr4. This one is really clean. Nice ride.
Very nice car ... awesome look too
Good of you to mention the 300ZX in the "trio". Us 300ZX guys and gals always get left out when people start mentioning 90's Japanese sports cars. But I bet it happens even more so with 3000GT's and GTO's.
great car, learned how to drive manual in one of these.
Never able to buy one when they were new but always a good looking car. Have stood the test of time, still look good.
Mandurath Yeah they were freaking expensive when I was in college. I remember the dealer mark up on them being in the 40k range with some eclipsing maybe 50k.
Stealth.
0to60videos and?
Dodge Stealth
+Beavey Dodge Stealth homie...
dodge stealth was hella ugly in comparison
LOL had green 93 dodge stealth i could not stand that car i sold that bitch after 1 year
when these came out the magazine made such a big deal about this car. it was cool but no one seemed to buy them or modify them. nice to see some of them are still around.
You can make 600HP on the stock Bottom end of the 2nd Gens no problem....You are playing with fire with the pistons and the rods but the crank and block are fine. The driveline is the problem. Around 600 crank you start to need to worry about the bellhousing but a couple hundred bucks with a brace and you are set till you start making closer to 700 at the wheels but the community has that solved too.
So can you make it no problem or are you playing with fire your comment makes no sense
What a gorgeous representation of the 3kgt, extremely well kept - nice work man! Next up are some DR650's and supporting goodies (e85 maybe?)!
This car should be as much of an icon as the Mazda rx7 and Toyota supra, The fast and furious did my baby dirty.
Agreed!!!!👍👍
It wouldn't be your baby if it was in that series since you wouldn't be able to afford it. If Paul Walker pulled up with a VR4 on the trailer instead of the Supra it would be the car worth 40 grand now. As much as I would LOVE a Mark IV Supra I would never pay a Fast and Furious tax. I'd rather buy a Mark III Supra and spend the 20 grand I saved on a built motor and all of the goodies. When I was younger I would have never considered the older Supras but they've grown on me for sure. I like how unsuspecting they look; if you made big power you would really piss people off lol. It just looks like any average 80s beater car.
much love for the 3000gt . (yes my picture is my personal 3000gt)
"You better check yo self before you wreck yo self
Cos I'm bad for your health, I come real Stealth
Droppin bombs on ya moms, fuck car alarms
Doin foul crime, I'm that nigga wit'cha Alpine
Sold it for a six-o, always let tricks know"
That's what Ice Cube thinks about the Dodge Stealth.
Always loved these. Amazing interior. Seems like a nice guy who loves his car
Japanese quad,....don't forget about the Supra.
I don't believe it, this is one of my all-time favorite cars!! Thank you so much for this Matt
I don't understand Matt's problem with fitting in cars... I'm 6'3", and owned a 3000gt with a sunroof, never hit my head once
One of my all time favorite cars from the 1990s! Way ahead of its time.
Mane do i love me a car with a clean engine bay, very nice indeed.
This was my dream car back in high school.
amazing cars in this videos that's it!!!
Mitsubishi in the late 90s really had an all star catalog of cars; The montero, 3000gt vr4, eclipse GST, lancer evolution v, etc.
If Matt goes "weeeeeeeeeeee" on your review... your car is slow lol.
ahahaha, yes, I've noticed that..
Kaymoney081 where did he go weeee?
the engine is stock and stock turbos... 300hp stock....i doubt you drive a car and if you do its probably a civic or an accord lmao... kids on the internet will never understand some things.
myrips2fat lol I'm 26 and I drive a C6 Z06. Do I need to go over the specs for that for ya? Lol
Bunka Fas I'm not disrespecting anyone car lol I just noticed he does that with the slower cars lol "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" hahaha
thinking about getting a 3000gt,next day my favorite car show on the Internet posts this video, thanks matt.
8:21 Freddy aka "Tavarish" sold that 3000GT VR4 a few months ago. :(
The reason why this car is so loved is because this was one of the first cars you could reasonably expect to own that broke 0 to 60 in sub sixes. And, while hard to work on, the engine had easily twice the hp just waiting to be unleashed... in the 90s. Let that sink in.
Doesnt sound like much now, but when they came out the vr4s were monsters, and the AWD essentially guaranteed you always won 1/8ths and quarters vs any stock car for the time period. Heavily modded, they basically beat everything. Still beat most things to this day.
Additionally, while everyone complains about the weight on paper--remember it's a grand touring car. You dont want anything that weighs much less because the ride quality becomes shit over the long duration races these cars were made for. GT cars, to this very day, keep roughly the same vehicle weights.
Sadly, them being hard to work on compared to the legendary Nissan 3.0 and rotary of the rx7 killed the car, but for those that knew what they were doing and put in the work you got a up to 640hp car with very little additional investment that drove buttery smoother the point it could be dailied.
Which is what I did with mine until an illegal immigrant took my 94 vr4 out with their prius, but... that's s different story for another time.
When MITSU was quality product :D
Really like the VR-4s! I was convinced I was going to buy one in the event I couldn't find a SupraTT back in the late 90's (before F&F). But then I found my black Supra 6 hours away and am glad it turned out that way!
Color tones on this video are awesome i'm going to take a guess and say it was because of the tinting on the windows
Elias Angulo dark window tint plus very warm colored interior
Great VHS like look for a 90's car.
I was picking up on that and honestly I didn't pay attention to it until I read this comment. lol
Best looking car I've seen in a while!!
+TheSmokingTire, what is the high pitched electronic sound? Was it your camera, or something in the car?
Jim oil temp warning at the end
Beeeeep indeed, not the max boost noice :) >> EDIT Oil noise
I can hear it all the way back at 7:08. Almost sounds like an old CRT TV flyback transformer noise. I know I'm dating myself, but at 38, I'm not that much older. Only seems to happen off boost. I'm watching the video at 1080p, with nice Audio Technica headphones and a DAC, so it's not my set up.
Bottom line, it doesn't matter. My brother in law had one of these cars back in the late 90's, and used to rip 4 wheel burnouts in it. It was black with tan interior, and it was sweet.
Jim i hear it too,i have this same stupid noise in my house...keeps me awake at night...will tear the walls open soon lolll
I watched the video in 480p with my Koss UR40 headphones and I also heard the high pitched tone for a while. Which AT cans do you have?
Another old school model! I remember when these were the hottest thing on the road. Compared to today's cars they seem overweight and underpowered. I used to have a Stealth..fun car
Trust me these cars aren't underpowered lol
Isit Fast? I owned one...Stealth version. They weighed a lot and felt sluggish. Fun car, but certainly not real fast or nimble by today's standards.
I owned one for several years, so I kinda know what I'm talking about
Well to today's standards yea ofcourse but I'm talking against its time period and the power and performance it offered when new ...
Isit Fast? Okay...well I said compared to today's cars, and you said trust me they aren't underpowered..lol
Yes, they are reasonably quick, and were great in the 90's.
320 hp back in 95 if far far from underpowered ..I own a 95 Mark viii and its 280 hp but weights 3700 so to today's standards that's horrific but when it came out that was amazing and to this day still can hold it own especially with a few minor bolt ons
other dream about LaFerrari's
Other about Lambo's
Well i'm the one that dreams about a Mitsubishi GT3000!
You mean 3000gt cant get the name right but you dream about them
I have a Caracas red 95 vr4 and turning the boost up to 15 along with down-pipe and no cats etc was an incredible combo to open it up. It's been running well in that condition for a decade now..... turn it up
Is that Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus?
SO excited to see this when I saw the upload notification :) Just actually searched this car last week.. always loved them ! +1 on the windshield tint.. jesus dear lord remove that awful thing !! Car looks great and sounds good !! Surprised Matt didn't say anything about the steering wheel I always felt they were huge and being flat just made them look akward.
Can we get behind the scenes of the boiling oil ;)
Another great find! Recall these used to have Active Aero spoilers front and rear, keep em coming 👌👌👌
It didn't break at least 3 times during the shoot
I'm in shock
Never mind, just saw the oil problem
aryanenzo He's clearly laughing because he's a madman whos car's Frankenstein electric circuitry and parts has spliced itself into his soul
You have no idea what you're talking about. But I like your profile picture, Great Teacher Onizuka. GTO AKA 3000GT.
It did not break.. just was yelling loudly.
+aryanenzo lol, it just had an oil change let it go!
So clean, kind of want one now.
if you can find one do a Celica gt4
Really clean VR-4! I really miss both of mine VR-4's
Didn't he say this wasn't a vr4 cause it was not awd?
People are surprised this car didnt break while filming, is the quality so bad or whats the issue?
I read in german car magazines that this car (mitsubishi 3000gt in germany) was absolutely reliable
krezo The American ones are pooring oil on your drive- way by a 100,000 miles.
because Americans don't maintain their vehicles worth shit... to Americans "unreliable" accurately translates into "Shit breaks down after 100,000 miles because only pussies change their oil. Yeehaw! Let's go impregnate my sister!" Probably explains why I see so many Mopars barfing out blue smoke...
@@jimgarrity2414 well as an American myself, I couldn't agree with you more. But when it comes to maintenance on my cars that's were I separate myself aswhell. I would probably be considered a little ridiculous and over kill about it. Hince the reason my cars drive perfect with high miles on them. It's annoying to hear people bash a certain brand or car for being unreliable, especially coming from the same people who are the worst at maintaining there vehicals!.
who's thumbs downing this video? eat it, trolls. That car is awesome. I don't think they're underrated, they were just so expensive and sold in so few numbers they're hard to come by. V6, twin turbo, AWD! I'm a Z guy, but I'd grab one of these if I could.
"Japanese trio" how about the Supra? All three he listed are great but I think the Supra should be included to make it the Japanese quadruplet
TotalPlayingGamer yeah hard to remember everything, all the time, while doing it in one take. I did mention the Supra later
quintuplet ;) the NSX too
TotalPlayingGamer I say the greatest 4 are the nsx, supra, skyline and rx7.
Kameron James plus evo; 22b
TotalPlayingGamer 300z
about time you guys had a vr4 on here! I own a 96 SL 3000gt I wanna buy a vr4 this summer
Those tints would be *so* illegal here
there too :D
they are illegal in CA too. sooner or later he will get pulled over for "no reason"
KoG GoK Lol I can see it now.. "all they could find on me was that my windows only let through 10% of the available light, which makes it very difficult to see out - particularly at night, so the policeman gave me a ticket for endangering myself and others. ALL COPS ARE BASTARDS"
RomanCandlle not all tint is illegal. also all it takes is that one bored cop trying to meet his quota to give a rats ass and ruin your day.
KoG GoK Everyone in Texas has tint, even the police cruisers and SUVs do. Unless your windows are pitch black and a trooper sees you then I can see a ticket, otherwise within reason, they don't care.
The aesthetic of the exterior of this car is amazing. And that's not even considering anything relating to performance or driving dynamics.
Also, the Tavarish reference is sort of ironic in 2020.
People always forget that Accords can take a corner.
Discount Comedy XD
Discount Comedy and mustang can take a crowd
Supra Blue Wow. You should be a comedian. Where can I buy your album?
Discount Comedy theres an discount on the album =O
haven't been driving new cars much or driving alone hope to see both soon
Your "trio of the 90s" excludes a very important 4th car. Here's a clue : 2JZ.
Numinous glad somebody else caught that!
These were always cool back in the day. But as you rightly point out in your description at the top, the Japanese all shot themselves in the feet with pricing in the late '90s. The Z, Supra, RX7 and the Mitsu just went nuts.
ive seen more of these cars broke down in a car stall then on the road
Andrew Strahan because its one of the hardest cars to work on and people seem to have a fuck it mentality with them
Andrew Strahan a 25 year old twin turbo car from the 90s that has poor owners ? what do you expect if a supra was treated like that for 20 years it would be broke too
Prodigy, must be a lot of non-car people who own 3000GTs then lmao.
Hype, you don't understand. I own a 30 year old turbo car. No issue. These 3000GTs were always know as being trouble, worse than a B5 S4 even.
These cars are easy to work on, just most people who own them suck at working on anything in general, and have a very basic set of tools.
Also the only ones that truely had any type of issue was 91s, and early 92s. They had a Transfer case seal issue which Mitsubishi recalled and still to this day will fix for free if it hasnt been done.
Otherwise it was strictly a shitty owner issue, like any performance car.
My VR4 has 260,000 miles on its engine. 140,000 of which I am responsible. it has alot of hard driving and track miles on it.
The only things Ive done to it is routine maintenance, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Oil Pump, and Pulleys etc.
I always think of this car together with the Skyline. They were the two AWD cars in the original Gran Turismo that you could get over 1000 horses out of.
I really hated working on those damn things. Not much fun.
Seriously...no room in the engine bay at all.
I've never worked on a Mitsubishi that was fun - they have all been horrible knuckle scraping, oil leaking, poorly engineered nightmares.
Its not too bad, especially when you start deleting shit lol. Ive worked on a TT Z32 and that was tough.
Dang the engine compartment is packed
i always loved this car but the reliability scared me
it should..shit broke my bank account meaning my heart..lol
new01971 lol now that i have the $$$$ i see them for cheap and walk right past
A rich buddy of mine's parents bought him one of these brand new when we were in high school.. It was constantly breaking down for one reason or another..VR4-TT, mind you I graduated in 99 so it wasn't that old... My 88 fox body ate it for lunch every time we raced..haha.. The good ol' days..
Mitsubishi has gone to total crap now,
Not even an Evo now.
I'm more excited about seeing your LS in the background.
man, doing the timing belts on those things SUCK.
timing belts its just the start. wait and see what can do later. ther are UNRELIABLE as............................i dont even. and they are heavy as tanks
i have fix alot of these btw im mechanic.and my sis had one so they are FACTS
+Gold3n GM they are 16-25 years old. who's still driving 1990s cars without problems. where is your 1990 ford mustang, there's about 5 of those in my city, they were the best selling domestic sports car of the 90's where the fuck are they
+Rentless f performance cars from the 90's are never reliable, COMPARATIVELY
"some" cars of the 90's yes but dont forget at that time japanese cars were bulletproof really. but not this
