Good video. I wish I had found your video before I narrowed my 8.8. Went through a similar process. One thing I did do that worked out well for me when cutting the old ends off was to square off of the blade and drill holes in the saw base so I could use u bolts to attach the saw to the axle tubes. It was solid. No movement whatsoever. The ends came out nice and square. It's in my video "Cutting down the Ford 8 8 differential" if you are interested. Thanks.

Watching through some of your old content. I use a 3350 hood everyday at work and love it. It’s a little heavy compared to pancake hoods but depending on the task that day it’s more than adequate to get the job done.

Thanks for watching. I had an old cheap hood before I bought that one. So it was waaaaayyyyy better. Still have it and love it. 👍

Thanks for the video and links man I’m about to put bigger axles in mine. It’s been narrowed already and tubes welded with stock 31 splines an explorer diff. It’s been a 1.35 60’ on this setup. but I’m about to pull it out and put 35 splines and a spool and thinking about adding some braces. But the links you shared will help me a lot on getting the correct bushings. I already have a bar and bushings for a 9” but I don’t think the bushings will work. Either way I appreciate your time and effort into this video

I did this exact thing when I put a Ford 8.8 in my El Camino.

I was thinking about swapping Ford 8.8 axles into a Suzuki Samurai. Hopefully, this will somewhat increase stability just haven't decided to use ranger/explorer factory width or to go short side/short side width or long side/long side width. Or if I should just go with Ford 9 inch axles. I will also be stretching the wheelbase at least 1"-2" and will be using 30" or 35" tires. What do you think? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I know its been a long time since this video. But did you take into account that the pinion is offset on a 8.8 and did you try to center it by cutting less off the short side and more off the long?

For some reason the Strange listing for those housing ends says they only fit drum brakes. But that doesn't make any sense. Thanks for posting.
