Very easy.. you can see have the divider after insert the coin.. the divider function to make sure the real coin only can rolling.. if don't understands can see how coin sorting works... it's same function
Great :) I had thought similar Coin slot, but it was with thickness not siz for falling down. Havent ever made, but in paper I saw major problem :/ But I think this is much better, works better and no failures.
Clever idea...tilting the runway so that the coins experience a torque due to gravity as it travels the path to the "quarter" hole. What people don't realize is it depends on the moment of inertia, so a quarter-sized coin is not guaranteed to make it across by virtue of being the same size alone. Mass, density, etc. must also match. Very creative, and don't listen to any of these morons who naysay without even understanding the actual physics behind the matter. Keep up the good work!
It doesn't rely on torque or moment of inertia, if it did it would affect all coins and not just the coin that is exactly the same spacing as the slot/path it travels. the quarter doesn't fall because as it rolls and begins to fall to the side the diagonal cross section height of the coin is larger than the gap so it jams and then gravity keeps the coin rolling down. it's a simple clever design.
You are ever so gently introducing the quarter to the slot. Slam that quarter in there like people do in a real coin mech. I guarantee if you push a nickel fast enough it will wind up in your accepted coin box. Anywho nice try on working out a problem with a simple solution.
guys i really wanna know how vending machines identifies the coin. i m not gonna hack any machine swear :) i did some research but i couldn't find something real. Yeah this one works you could make it accept 4-5 kinds of coin too. But this system just check the size of the coin. if i put same size of anything it'll accept. so if you guys know any material about that please share it with me ...

Excellent!! I may have to try this. The one thing I'm not to sure about for my mame cab was a working coin slot.
this is so old omg
Very nice mechanism, helped my with my uni project

I have try this with simple steps too.
so i think i missed it but does this thing like only work with quarters?
That's really kind of neat.
@1th3n Yeah but what if you wanted sell something for five cents? Then how'd that work out for ya?
awesome first view!
problem would arise if a coin which is similar in size and thickness.
Wow..... Medieval........
apply some force to push smaller coin.
after two minutes of typing answer i found it thirty seconds later.
I enjoyed the music

I DINDT learn anything

fuckin bg music
I know how to hack this kind of system with a plastic piece only so easy...
2 pesos!!
Who cares? This is totally useless
