  • I'm Not in Love
In 1975, I'm Not in Love shot to number one and became their breakthrough worldwide hit for 10cc.
When recording back in 1974, a decidedly analog approach was required. Eric Stewart recorded bandmates Kevin Godley, Lol Creme, and Graham Gouldman singing each of the 12 chromatic notes 16 times - 48 voices for each note, and a total of 576 recordings between the three singers.
I'm Not in Love" was originally conceived as a bossa nova song played on guitarsbut the other members of the band were not impressed, so the idea was ditched.
