It’s weird just how much they overcharge for stuff, charging 200$ to change out your Operating system would’ve taken someone 10 mins like this and the fact that snap-on doesn’t just make an M.2 NVMe slot for their 9000$ product is ridiculous considering it’s way smaller and would require a smaller heat sink while being just as fast if not faster than a ssd Nonetheless great job I always enjoy seeing videos like these
This SSD is not much bigger than a M.2 NVMe drive / ssd. The upgrade to Win10 (Enterprise LTSC) was worth the cost (for me) as I'm not very PC Savvy.... copy & paste I can do! LOL
@@EXOVCDS that’s fair it’s just weird to see it so expensive, I guess that software is where all the cost is lol Also an m.2 can be the size of a kids finger their about a quarter the size of a ssd and are more plug n play
Yeah... I upgraded the m.2 in one of my laptops (bought the cheaper version of the laptop and upgraded SSD & RAM myself). It's amazing how stuff keeps getting smaller and smaller!
Did the RAM upgrade improve the laggy performance while scrolling through saved data? I've been wanting to upgrade the RAM since the day after I purchased the Zeus, fortunately my warranty expires next month so I will be doing this upgrade. Also, since it's been a few months since this video came out, have you had any issues arise?
Still works great. I even added an external 4 port USB 3.0 adapter that I stuck to the back of the scope module. A 90 degree USB plug exits the side of the Zeus and feeds the adapter at the back. I dropped my Zeus 6 months ago and it landed on the straight USB connector that was plugged into the Zeus. With my USB connections now at the back, I won't have any issues should I drop it again.
@@EXOVCDS Yeah I just use true image and finished mine pretty sure it forward. I did this management and used the extra hundred gigs as a separate drive and then my main C Dr. is 350 gigs
I don't know about 8gb... 1TB should work, but can't be sure till I do it myself. Trial version would not let me clone, so I paid for it. Can be used / installed on 3 pc's.
The 32-bit Windows 7 Operating System can only use 4Gb of RAM. It might work, but would give you no more usable RAM, thus no performance gains. The $200 Windows 10 upgrade is tempting but from my research online it looks like it is also a 32-bit OS (which is also limited to 4GB RAM usable). Windows 10 does outperform Windows 7 but because it is still a 32-bit OS I would be hesitant unless you browse a lot on the web and want to keep up with security patches. The Snap-On applications are all 32-bit so even if the OS were 64-bit there would be no major performance gains in the Snap-On apps. I think I saw somewhere that they saw better performance with 500GB vs 1TB because of drive indexing performance. But that may have been because of the quality of SSD chosen. Remember, the underlying hardware is still just a reliable 4-banger, not an LS-1.
@@spacecat7015so do you see any performance gains using the Windows 7 and upgrading the storage and RAM is it worth it to do it? Just purchase the Zeus wanted to see if it was even worth it to upgrade the RAM and the storage
