    Good video! I've found Identifix way more helpful than Suretrack. Whenever I tried to find something in Suretrack, it was usually, "customer complaint, replaced part, customer concern did not return".

      Thank you for your input and your comment. I've had some experience with SureTrack and I have seen some of the same. However, from what I've been told, this platform completely changes the implementation of it in the Scan Tool. Time will tell, but I think Snap-On has put a huge new effort behind SureTrack and it's role in the Snap-On Zeus platform.

      It would be a welcome improvement. I'm usually not looking for silver bullets, but being a one-man operation it tends to give me some good direction for testing.

    I have maxisys and i can do more dignostic and programming and i also have a 4 Chanel scope built in to my tool. I have found that maxisys is cheaper ease to use and a great tool to have. Also is ease to dignostic is like using a cell phone. I am very happy that i buy this scanner.

    There is no shine there my friend. The idea of having a hold your hand scan tool is shameful. Save the money spent on this and use it towards training. A Launch or Autel as mentioned will always have more functionality, and with a pico scope separate from the scan tool your processing power is increased . Save the extra 10,000 and use it towards teaching yourself, not letting a tool from some "used to be a tech" snapon employee . If they know nothing at their own tech support , why would you trust the pre-selected pids? The tool itself is a money pit for someone looking to be a better diagnostic tech . Other than that your video was terrific

    • @DIYAutoHomeschool
      @DIYAutoHomeschool  7 лет назад +3

      New Level Auto I understand your position, my first thoughts on the scan tool were apprehension towards the idea that I've spent years learning what PID's to look at for different codes, and someone would just shortcut that and jump to the end. However, I thought about it, there are things I don't know and may be led to look at from this tool, and that will help me.
      I will say I agree with your stance on training, and I don't think anyone should buy any tool in lieu of training. Buy the tools that help you get the job done fastest and keep up on your training throughout your career.
      Thank you for your thoughts and input and thank you for taking the time to check out the video.

    Do that scanner do Cadillac XLR or a 07' Pontiac G6 roof top module. Answer is No. One flaw that i found plus alot more flaws with the snap on scanners. And, yes i do have a verus with the latest software.
    That is one reason that i got another scanner at my shop. Snap scanner is a good scanner but not the best.
    In all i do like your video. I just don't like snap on. I spent over 2k to have the latest software so that snap on can tell me that i don't have the capabilities to scan a roof top module on a Cadillac XLR or a G6. Because, they said there are not many out there to put that software in. 🤔
    There is alot more scanners out there that are way better then that Zeus. That is just my opinion.

    Snap on is just a joke!! The new evolution!! Hahahaha that Zeus is a Verus Edge with a new name. All that change is the software. Snap on sells a tool for $15k that uses windows 7? It is truly obsolete! As I tell all my friends, get your self a Launch or Maxisys and a 4 channel Pico. Snap on is years behind their technology and coverage. Plus you will save $10k by not buying snap on!!

      I'm sorry you feel the way you do. I'm certain I'm not going to change your opinion of Snap-On in the comments section of a RUclips video. In lieu, I'll agree with you on 1 point. If you are looking for a high quality scope, then a Pico Scope is the way to go. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. Have a good weekend.

      I have watched a number of your videos. I have a maxisys 908pro. Love it. Haven't found anything so far that it could do. I don't have a pico scope but it is next, for now i use a snap on modis elite for scope functions only. I like having my scope separate from my diagnostic tool for ease of diagnosing. Check out the graphing of pids on the Autel. Very useful. (Don't get me wrong, nothing like a scope graph, kind of like a kid brother.)

    How's this with European cars?

  • @jacksgarage2925
    @jacksgarage2925 7 лет назад +1

    Let me guess, cost as much as a new Harley Davidson! Yes Identifix is good if you only want to spend 1 hour on diag. Otherwise you need full blown factory diagnostic procedures like Alldata. Identifix is very good on most cars, but still has missing information and relies heavily on the search function or code. Identifix is more than hot fixes now, they have improved. I'm at the point where all I want to work on is quick jobs and classic cars and trucks. Otherwise, I might buy a new Snapon scanner but this late in the game, it wouldn't pay off for me.

    • @RANS87IROCZ
      @RANS87IROCZ 7 лет назад

      Jacks Garage hey hey its never to late in the game! And well I decided to only cause my current scanner needed update and well that cost almost a grand! He gave me 1000 off for promotion sale, 4 grand off trade in of old one plus I get the next 3 years to come free updates, I thought about it for about 10 minutes, my scanner didn't have half the options and at that windows 7 and yep I went for it, I don't know if I did the right thing but I got it

    • @papakernz
      @papakernz 6 лет назад +1

      You really prefer Somedata over Identifix? I have both (I'm an instructor) and think Identifix kicks it's ass across the board! They even stole the color wiring diagram idea that Shopkey uses. Takes 2 seconds to look up brake and other common specs! There's feed back from techs with test procedures, OEM procedures, manual info and component location as well as flat rate time to bill the job at. They even have some new shop manager software for invoicing I'm told. I'm pretty sure Identifix is the 3rd party software to beat these days from my perspective and every tech I talk to, Shopkey probably 2nd but it's harder to navigate than Alldata.

    • @fuckjewtube69
      @fuckjewtube69 4 года назад

      @@papakernz Identifix kills Alldata. AllData is so clumsy and frustrating to use. I can't believe how stupid AllDatas wiring diagrams are I've never seen something so useless before. Hey you need a diagram for a 02 sensor?. Well open up 10 fucking pages of diagrams and look through all of them until you find it. Identifix has everything labeled separately for every diagram that you can search for and instantly find the exact diagram page its in. The Alldata OEM diagrams are OK, but Identifix has the exact same OEM diagrams as well. OEM diagrams have their own problems.

    The Snap-On Zeus is the heaviest scan tool on the market, complete waste of money!!! Instant ID on most vehicle still requires you to type in partial vin. a lot of the feature try to copy the Autel pro. The blue tooth obd module is way to easy to be left behind in the vehicle. Thumbs down!!!

    • @BruceAllentools
      @BruceAllentools 7 лет назад

      12volt Tech this video does not deserve a thumbs down... different strokes for different folks... I have the Autel wireless scanner and it been a to remind me not to forget the dongle in the car. I'm not being a dick but it's hos money and he did a decent job presenting the tool to us.

    So a flash light and looks better then its predecessor I should buy it ,not , same scope same software with some not so intelligent help . My versus pro and its scope works fine . So I’ll purchase a Pico scope and different scan tool that has better bidirectional capabilities and save about $6,000 . Also keep the versus to boot rather then trade back to Snap-on for a little bit to nothing . If wanted a tablet to access shop key better I’d bring my iPad to work . You sell a scan tool and claim its OE LEVEL not even close . Stable will give them that but short life span for software support for that kind of money . Shooting versus pro down at 6 years edge will follow suit so the Zeus expected life span for software big ??????? Up grade the scope get j2534 capabilities built into tool catch up to your competition.

    Just my opinion...

    I am so glad to see these comments and see people are as angry with snap on as i am. I have been dedicated to snap for 15 plus years. I never buy from any other truck. Thoses days are done. I have a verus and am a very capable tech. I see very little that makes this tool so much more money than the verus. It seams like most of the "features" that this tool has that verus dosent is crap to make a low level tech a better tech. So this tool is geared to a tech who would never buy a 16k tool. The simple side is NO scan tool does it all. You have to have several to make sure you can do it all. I own a verus, a solus, a pass thru pro 2 for programming, a mercedes OE scan tool and tomorrow will be buying a launch/ matco maxgo to help fill the void in scan tools. I'm sorry to say this, but snap on is nuts to think this is a "god" of scan tools to charge 16k. My loyalty to snap is over. I also wanted to mention that i talked to my snap on rep today and was told that the "data" package that comes with the tool for 3 years will cost $1499.99 per year after that and if tou choose not to pay it, a ton of features will be disabled in the tool. That $1499 also dosent include the 2 updates per year....... i hope Snap On is reading this when i say, thanks for they loyalty, I'm done......

      Absolutely love it. The tool is fast and accurate and the labscope saves my ass sometimes. I’ve alresdy made my money back using it and can’t be more happy. I used to have a versus edge before but it was kind of clunky and slow. Definitely worth the purchase. Only regret is I should have gotten the work station but I ended up retro fitting a roll cart anyway
