Hi, I want to thank you for this. You have been a great help in me learning LMMS and having already two videos of my music here on RUclips. Keep up the great work.
Watching you make a swingy jazz beat in 4/4 brings up a question. (FWIW, you may want a 12/8 time signature for beats like that with the familiar swing, like 1 + a 2 + a 3 + a 4 + a.) I know Reason has a Shuffle function where you make standard beats in 4/4, but then you adjust the function so the result is swingy. It can also be used to make more like Caribbean shuffles which is somewhere in between a steady 4/4 and swingy 12/8. I don’t know how to explain that any better lol. Is there such a function in LMMS?
Hi Jon. Yes, if I understand the question correctly. In the beat + bassline editor, there is a button to add beat/bassline and then a drop down to choose which one to edit. This lets you use different patterns, but its using the same instruments and it also appears as a separate track in the song editor. Hope that helps.
Stand Up guy! If you hadn't included FREE in the title we would have watched and you would have an FL STUDIO size viewership. I am off to get it for FREE (I'll be back to view 'the how to!') thank you!
Hey TJFREE! Thanks again to take us by the hand in this very detailed lmms guided tour.

Transition out of the last video was fire
Wow. I did not know that I could create "New from Template." Thanks for the tip.
I love that there is a premade TR808 template!
Q1: What if i want both templates in it ?
Q2:Is it possible that you can record what you are doing audacity and then as mp3 file?
how can i play a drum and rythm in half of a step?
you can edit in piano roll and choose notes smaller than sixteenth notes
When using the beat and bass line, are you limited to just one rhythm pattern per track?
