- On a perfect winter morning we are on the old Detroit, Toledo, and Ironton Railroad in Allen Park Michigan. Today we had the pleasure of catching a pair of CN Locals making their daily run on the line. First is CN L572 with GTW 4921 for power. This old Blue and red unit was an awesome sight to see with its original GTW paint scheme in tact. Next was CN L573 with IC 6200 for power Long hood Forward. This unit was painted into CN scheme but kept its IC reporting marks.
These trains are caught on the old DT&I mainline which was once electrified. This is evident with the old concrete arches still standing to this day. When the electrification was turned off, it was deemed too expensive to dismantle the heavy arches, and they were left for nature to take its course.
This is an awesome spot to catch some trains, and we were very lucky to catch two moves back to back!

Nice areal shots.
4921 used to be a GP 9 back in the 70's. I've seen it many of times in the rail yard in Muskegon.
Love the cab view! Would e great to get the Canadian National Shoreline with a cab view 😀😀😀
Nice job!! The old GT unit and the cement wire structures really a lot of visual interest. Thanks for posting!
Cool catches! Love that GTW blue!

IC 6200 built for the Illinois Gulf Coast??? Never heard of that railroad. Perhaps built for the Illinois Central Gulf?
