As someone who was hit by a speeding car five years ago, hearing those idiots say 'it would have been your fault, you should have gotten out of the way' really pisses me off. The car that hit me came around a corner and mounted the pavement, I didn’t even know it was there until it hit me.
Wow that's tough. As a teen I was once _almost_ hit by a taxi driver who was breaking about 3 different traffic laws. Half a meter ahead and I would have been sent to Nirvana. Just emphasizes how little respect some drivers have for pedestrians, you definitely look both sides 5 times after realizing this.
I really hate those people who drive 80mph on a fucking turn. Ill look both ways before crossing, and right before I reach the middle of the road, some asswipe speeds up and almost hits me. They drive so fast that you cant even see them. You look away for 2 seconds and, theyre 5inches away from crushing you.

For real!! I don't think any good kid, going to school and getting good grades is getting influenced to do this. Seems like all the kids suddenly motivated to do this are all problematic and probably already have a record.
My friend's grandson got arrested for this a few weeks ago. He laughed when he got arrested - his friend filmed the whole thing - until reality hit him. Now he feels bad, although he doesn't seem to be remorseful.
Seems he feels bad he got caught and now has to face some consequences, but definitely does not feel bad about what he has done. This whole trend is insane.
How is your friend doing? She must be shocked to know her grandson is such a doink and so lacking in basic ethics. Heck, part of what kept me away from any crimes greater than minor misdemeanors was the thought, "What would my grandmother think?" But then, I'm a 68-year old Southern lady. Mind you, my grandmother didn't expect perfection. I think she would have waved off underage drinking, traffic tickets, minor accidents, and such. And I know for a fact she thought marijuana laws were ludicrous. But I'm tellin' ya, I can't imagine how mortified she'd have been if she were in your friend's shoes. How old is the kid, anyway? Was this little stunt straight out of the blue, or was it part of a pattern of escalating risky behavior?
It's sad that those were the good old days😅 like yeah peeps may have developed health issues or death but not like this. It reminds me of the alcohol challenge when people covered themselves in it and lit it on fire.
For me, the worst part is the total lack of compassion. They do not care. They want to “flex” online and have fun, and the consequences are everyone else’s fault. They do not care about anyone or anything other than themselves.
That’s this generation anymore children - they never will become actual adults despite their age - it’s just a # anyways. Just b/c you’re 21 and can drive and buy alcohol doesn’t mean you’re matured.
@@tiffpollack4857 Absolutely correct. Honestly this generation is one of the most selfish, violent, childish and unsympathetic bunch I've ever seen. To them, the world revolves around themselves, and things that boost their online presents stands above all.
This angers me so much. I have a Kia, to think someone would feel entitled enough to steal it and possibly hit someone and then BLAME THE VICTIM?? They need to be in jail.
Couldn't any crimes being committed link back to the registered owner if there was no clear evidence that the owner is innocent? Even if the vehicle is reported stolen ASAP the cops could always always say it was a lie just so the registered owner can commit crimes.
I hope you got The Club to lock the steering wheel. I got it for mine plus my car has the added security of being a stick shift. pretty sure 99 percent of these morons have no idea what a manual transmission even is
Because of people like this my car was broken into 3 times in a week. I just got out of homelessness and had to pay out of pocket for repairs. People don’t understand insurance at all. I still have problems from the whole altercation today
Ours got broken into once, but thankfully our Kia is 1 year before this design flaw. They still broke a window, tore apart the ignition, and rendered the car undrivable though, and because of all the ones that do get stolen, the parts to repair it were out of stock, and the repair could have taken up to 3 months if we hadn't gotten lucky.
I am absolutely shocked that this is a trend, a popular one at that. The lack of respect and empathy those boys have for others claiming that "you should get out of the way" or that "you should have insurance" if anything goes wrong. I’m a little conflicted on this one. On the one hand, yeah, stupid thing to do. On the other, they were just kids, and kids are very easily influence by what they see. It's the app's responsibly to monitor what they show to their VERY young audience.
I said that very phrase today. Stupid games, stupid prizes. I don't feel bad for the kid that survived OR the kids that died... survival of the fittest doing its job... don't need idiots like this in our gene pool tyvm...
How is it that so many kids are so blind to the reality of what they're doing? They're seeing it as a game, with no consequences. When I was a kid, about the dumbest things we did were pretty harmless...like climbing buildings without permission, or drinking under-age. One of our top priorities was to avoid getting caught. About the only contact with cops was for loud music during a party late at night. It's like these kids want to find out what it's like to be in jail.
TikTok could've EASILY taken action to crush this trend before it even got a chance to become a thing. But most def not just TikTok's fault, it's the fault of the people that part took in this trend and spread it. 4 people died, but they aren't blameless, hope they rest in peace though.
Definitely yes on Tik-Tok's part, being part of the issue. It's a easy shutdown of the hashtag and telling people why doing this challenge can lead to death.
Safe Harbor only applies if the platform rarely outputs outrageous trends. TikTok? Tidepods? Benadryl Chicken? Cha Cha Slide? Da Flu Challenge? No. TikTok should be permanently closed. Even Vine weren't as crazy as this.
@@TheRibbonRed I'd like to add that the benadryl chicken challenge wasn't a real challenge. It was a joke blown out of proportion by news. But if there is actual evidence of people taking that trend seriously, by all means disregard this comment. 😬 But you are definitely right!

@@koolcatcory9975 a much more harmless crime. Stealing is a crime no matter where you go, because it harms another person. Not having insurance is usually a personal choice, because it really only harms you. And it’s still not a 100% solve to have insurance restore you with a car, either.
Not to mention thinking what they are doing is okay just as long as it had insurance on it. Completely disregarding any of the harm that comes emotionally and physically from having a car stolen. The car could have been a gift from a loved one. The first car purchased after saving up for so long. It could have been something they worked hard to restore. It could be the only way for them to get to vital doctor's appointments. Loosing their car could mean they loose their job. Loosing a car is not something to be brushed off for many people. These callous thieves think nothing of the harm they are causing and only think of their adrenaline rush and how they can brag to their equally callous friends. if your sibling or best friend did it, and was also ejected and died. would you have the same firey tone? No judgement here, just playing devil's advocate. would you include that same sentence in their eulogy? morbid and serious, but given how the youngest victim was 14. and how old are you? and how smart are most 8th graders? "Absolutely" huh?
Gonna keep it simple here since you're aiming for "devil's advocate" on the matter..everyone I know or care about is FAR too smart, and have complete common sense not to do this, or anything like this. So I don't have to worry about this, even theoretically. And 14 year old or not, you don't have to actually be very smart to know how foolish this is. But NO judgement right??
Addendum: Say they get away with it somehow and don't pay for their crimes..what's to stop them from doing it again or something even worse? There is always going to be something else or someone else who will raise the bar but meanwhile, I say let Darwinism clean the pool alittle bit, even if it's just a drop in the whacked out ocean.
I have no sympathy for the people that get hurt doing this trend (if someone's a bystander and they get hit then I can understand). Like Atozy said, play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Injury and even death is one of the stupid prizes. RIP to those kids, but I wish they didnt have to be the example of why you shouldn't follow trends like this (or tik tok trends in general...)
And that’s the problem. Empathy is dead. You have no sympathy for someone getting hurt, yes it is their fault, yes it’s stupid, yes they deserve to be punished. But when nobody feels empathy any more, like those guys who said they wouldn’t care if that guy got hit and killed, this stuff starts happening. No one stops to think ‘oh shit wait, someone might get seriously hurt’ because they just don’t care, they have no empathy.
It’s a literal lack of common sense. I can’t believe that these kids are a part of the same generation as I am, I feel sorry for those who got hurt and their parents but those who endangered not only their lives but other lives have below average intellect and have been failed by those around them if they thought this would make them look cool, because it just makes them look stupid and dangerous and death or jail aren’t cool. Tiktok is the internets downfall. And TikTok could have definitely done something to stop the trend from spreading.
Yes, they are dumb as rocks but kids (incl you at some point properly) often do very stupid things without thinking of the consequences. Doesn't mean they deserve to die.

Someone inexperienced tried to do this in the middle of the night, but couldn't get our Kia started. A few months later a crew of pros managed to get it done midday while I wasn't looking, a little bit before the 4th of July so they could joyride and shoot fireworks from it. They hit another car, thankfully that driver was ok (even though they did try to take legal action against us) and ended up totaling our Kia and leading to MONTHS of struggle and financial hardship at an already hard time. We learned through all of this that the reason these cars are so easy to steal was these companies just left out a part that literally only cost a couple of dollars. The most heartbreaking thing....we only had one payment left on that Kia. Our first ever non hand me down car.
issue is that usa poor regs what allow them to cut costs, usa government also to blame as in uk its been mandatory since 1998 to have fitted immobilizers what make it much harder unless you got expensive computer what garages use to by pass the system once got in to the car. in USA Hyundai and KIA vehicles manufactured from 2011 to 2021 that use a steel key do not have immobilizers. a representative for Hyundai, Kia's parent company, said that engine immobilizers are now standard on its vehicles produced as of November 2021 but that some trim levels on older models do not have the equipment. i know my 2011 i20 had one and my newer 2015 i20 has immobilizer and new one has an alarm too and im in uk, looks like they cut costs for usa market due to poor usa regs. this is what it is in uk and rest europe , all kia and Hyundai vehicles sold into the European market are fitted with category 2 immobilisers or category 1 alarms as standard. In fact they have been mandatory on all new cars in Germany and the UK since 1998. its been a standard for 26 years and usa still not caught up, well they starting too as even base models have it in uk, my first 2011 i20 was very basic that had one fitted, even my new car 2015 i20 that has one fitted inc an alarm as standard. sorry for your loss , i feel usa government regs are to blame, Hyundai and kia should face charges and even the one who started the trend should be jailed. im thankful im in europe where we have added security even tho it not fool proof its for sure harder. sadly these days a lot weak points in most modern cars and obd port the mechanics use they cut new key and drive away in few mins it only takes a large down payment for a garage computer and little skill and you can be driving away with $200k car like you own it. and keyless entry that made things far worse so do not buy car with that. i hope karma comes to the scum what doing this and i do not feel sorry for what ever happens to car thieves. thankfully my are full of cars 10x the value of mine even tho it £7k worth and cctv always watching my car i just home that deterrent and choose more expensive car not mine and they get caught, as recently range rovers 100's going missing and insurance getting so high they have to give car back at huge loss as some getting quotes of £30,000 a year what was £2k some insurance company's point blank refusing to cover that car due to such high risk. a lot modern tech may be good but it making it far more easy to take sadly
The fact that they have no empathy really bothers me. Anything can be justified for their favor. I remember being a teen but I was never that self-centered. Nor anybody I hung out with at that time.
The lack of empathy is pretty standard, while obviously there are outliers, empathy itself is something that only fully developes by the time you're in your mid twenties. Not saying that teenagers don't understand right from wrong, and can't be empathetic, but there's a lot more going on in their brains that can override those.

It's not an excuse because everyone is accountable for their actions (or should be in a perfect world), but unless teenagers and children (and to certain degree anyone under the age of 25), are lead by example, punished for serious failings, and routinely taught right from wrong it's a logical step for them to evolve from name calling and stealing minor stuff, to GTA, to assault and even murder, without any remorse. As someone who has had their car totaled in an accident... It's a nightmare process to be made whole again. Not only does it take time to get the money from the insurance company.. But then you have to consider that if you had a car payment all of that money has to go into paying that off first. Even if you're lucky enough not to have a car payment, the insurance company doesn't just give you an identical car. They give you the approximate value of the car and tell you good luck in getting another one. It's really stressful to get a new car and the time you're spending shopping and trying to find something you can afford, you're out a car. If you're dependent on your car to get to work or if it's part of your work.. That's going to impact you. I know that these kids are young, but the fact that no thought has been put into how it hurts the victim is just painful. It's like assumption is that the insurance company just magics you up an identical replacement.
I'm not one for conspiracy theories but I heard one about how tik tok is just a psy-op by the chinese government to attack america. They purposefully push these dumb ass trends to make america look worse and to destabilize the youngest generation. In 2021 I was a political canvasser here in Milwaukee, going to all different neighborhoods throughout the city. I would see this shit daily, genuinely it was terrifying. Rewarding risky behavior with more and more attention and getting kids addicted to the dopamine hits of internet attention, that's what's going on. Pre-widestream social media, you'd only really have an audience of a few of your friends to try to show off to, so you didn't have competition to where you had to constantly do crazier and riskier stuff to stand out. You also did it less frequently. But, now, kids are absolutely glued to their phones at every waking hour and are legitimately addicted to social media. Jesus christ, I feel like an old man shaking his fist at a cloud, yet I'm only 23...
The blame goes 3 ways. 1 on the people who are doing this challenge, 2 on kia for making it so easy to steal a car, and 3, but definitely the largest culprit, being tiktok for not moderating this kind of content the way they need to

One of the juvenile females mentioned how when when was stealing a car this woman jumped in front of the car and threw herself on her hood to keep the girl from taking her car. (I don’t remember if the grand theft auto was successful or not I just remember the girl was caught) and she kept bragging to her peers and just kept saying things like “I just don’t see what the big deal was it’s only a car”. Only a juvenile with no livelihood, career, family to feed, etc would say that 😬 these young kids out here stealing cars, too immature or selfish to care for how it affects the lives of others. They're entitled... Like the "should have had insurance, that's illegal" line.... They honestly don't get it, and they're just too stupid to understand that being a teenage criminal isn't cool. It just fucks up the entire rest of your short, miserable life...
It's "only a car," but if her phone were stolen, it'd be a different story. Her entire _life_ would be gone. Never mind the fact the phone costs a fraction of a car's price. I wonder why the girl had no concept of the value of a car? Holy cats, by the time I was six, I was aware the most valuable items my parents owned were the house, and following at a pretty fair distance was the car, and trailing far behind were furniture and stuff.
She's gonna see the big deal when she can't pass a basic background check and has to flip burgers 7 days a week to pay rent. Suck to suck, but I guess stupid is as stupid does.
This trend honestly scares me as a Kia owner. This year alone I got smash n grabbed (medication stolen), and I got my catalytic converter stolen. As soon as I repair my car from all that, now this is a trend. Considering both incidences happened at my apartment complex, I wouldn’t be surprised if my car is just gone one day… Edit: spelling Also wanna add that leaving my meds in the car was a total accident, I normally carry them on me at all times so I take them at a specific time and just totally forgot 😭 I normally keep my car empty knowing I live in an apartment that deals with crime
Yep my stepfather had his car stolen at gun point, then got a new car a week later. He got his windows smashed, then a week later, got his tires stolen.
My friend’s car was almost stolen because of this. They f-ed up her steering wheel too much to do actually take it so they left her car. But literally her car was right outside her window of her apartment. She got lucky and called the cops but they said there was nothing they could do.
Really should be a class action lawsuit against the prosecutors in those areas for letting it go on and on. It doesn't matter how many people get arrested if the DA just lets them out with a pinky promise not to do it again.
What annoys me, is that we got so use the calling teens ‘kids/children’ that they now feel like they can get away with shit like this. We all as a society need to realize they are YOUNG adults, still legally under the law, and should be treated like so. They know right from wrong, they’re just extremely full of shit that we have fed them, but also fed themselves.
17 is not a kid in most places, America pampers their youth too much thats why alot of them do shit like this, you barely see stuff like this happening somewhere else (with the tiktok trends ect like this)
One day the law may change and convict at least teens (basically young adults) as adults for murder and other crimes w/intention to do them. No longer ruled as innocent or naive...
I remember being a called child was an insult, most kids would try really hard to adult up and act right. Like we were eager to do better to get a better image. We'd still be treated like kids, couldn't make choices, or do much and that was great! Wild childing with moderation and most of us lived to tell the tale. Kids these days don't even acknowledge themselves as kids, can literally demand for things to go their way and play it off with a "I have anxiety disorder" 😢 "I have social anxiety disorder!" -as you blast up a chat on the phone and around you. They are the original Karen's, one tantrum means they can get what ever they want. There were a few girls who killed their friend and sacrificed her to Slenderman, or tried to. They didn't get much punishment cause they're kids. You want to kill like an adult, get punished like an adult. Wanna throw wet crumpled paper at the ceiling like a kid, get punished like a kid. Huge difference and people want to pretend the line doesn't even exist. Already got a few children, teens/literal infants trying to get gender surgery cause they're old enough for that now. Parents went from parents to being your bff they don't help much.
Ok there's alot to unpack here. We do charge teens as adults, depending on the crime.we dont for every crime since children's brains are still developing. You lack the medical and legal knowledge to make these determinations. Also other countries don't incarcerate half their population for profit. So no, they dont treat kids as adults in other countries. Unless you want to use Saudi Arabia et al as examples for the type of justice system you're advocating for.

Did your brother left your car in the garage? The thieves will literally look for those specific car in the street and take it. Thieves can be anywhere and in any states.
@@Rjj2721 thank you for the suggestion! I’ll definitely think of looking into that! But I think for now at least I’ll be safe. My car got a flat tire last I went to check on it and it’s in Alabama so hopefully kids won’t be stupid enough to steal a car where many have guns.
@@sunnyside-hb9ju not necessarily. I don’t have a garage but we did recently install a large fence around my house because of my dog. But the gate doesn’t have a lock so technically anyone can go in by making a bunch of noise. But my house is at the end the street and my brother lives a few houses up the road. So he can see anyone going in and out.
The class action lawsuit against the car makers is the dumbest s*** in the world. Any car can be stolen, it’s not their fault some kid figured out how to steal one car over another. It’s the kid’s fault that stole the car. It’s like trying to sue a toaster company because someone stuck a fork in it & got shocked or suing tide because some kid ate a tide pod.
...Not really? Teach your kids risk assessment. Its literally the parents fault if the kids were stupid enough to get in the car with someone INTENDING to drive recklessly. Its not like we never did it as kids, it still happened. Know how many wrecks I was never in because I was like "nah, I'll be wayyyyyy the fuck back here on this one mate"... then watched my friends roll a pickup in a field? (Note, this was South Dakota....a lot more crazy shit is probably done there as far as hazardous driving is concerned...I guess opting out of idiotic scenarios was more prevalent for me) Actions have consequences. All actions should have risk assessment. "What is the worst that could happen if I do this?" "How likely is that thing to happen?" "How likely is a bad thing but not the worst thing to happen?" "What do I gain from this if NOTHING goes wrong?" "What is the _BEST_ thing that can happen if this goes well?" Even in the best case scenario, "The passenger in the car that was stolen and driven around by an underage kid very stylishly" never blows up with fame, even if in some great miracle, the driver did. Actions have consequences. Parental neglect was the action in this case.
I live right in between Buffalo and Erie. And let me tell you, shit here has been fucking insane. I went up to the mall with my friends to go dress shopping, and got caught in a shooting. I had to watch mothers with their toddlers run for their lives. Eight-year-old boys run for their lives. A mom holding her baby running for her life. A child hiding under a table terrified and confused. I watched as my best friend fell to the ground, she looked utterly terrified. I remember calling my mom and telling her I love her. My exact words? “mommy, I’m scared, I don’t know what’s going to happen to me. I don’t wanna die mommy. Please save me mommy. I love you mom I’m so scared” I heard as my mom started screaming over the phone, terrified and distraught remise safety. I had to go quiet for a second, and I heard her on the other line screaming crying thinking something happened to me. Hearing her scream “ she’s not answering I can’t hear her anymore, I think something happened to her, I’m so scared” was the fucking worst. We had hidden behind an industrial sized trashcan. I witnessed the whole thing, it happened in the food court, and I was about 10 feet or so away from the whole thing. It was traumatizing. I get PTSD every time I hear a loud bang noise. I get brought back to the thoughts of watching children desperately run for their lives. Things here and Erie and Buffalo have not been OK. Erie high got shot up within the first two weeks of school, a young boy about eight years old, was walking out of the barbershop after getting his haircut, and sadly got shot intentionally by a group of teenagers driving by. I keep hearing these stories of car theft, and shootings. It’s become so common here. It makes me incredibly sad, because Erie wasn’t always this bad. Erie is currently dangerous to live in. Shootings, Car theft, robberies… It sucks. I pray for the family of those poor teenagers. I pray for the family of that mother. May God rest their souls.

I'm from Buffalo and this is heartbreaking, they definitely were speeding and most likely first time driving in general. I really hope the driver understands what he did, and learns from it instead of bragging about how cool he is for stealing a car. The car theft rate has definitely gone up around here and sadly not everyone has full coverage or good coverage and can afford to fix the damages caused by it or get enough back to get a new car. I really hope these kids find something more useful to do with their time.

I know it might be too much but if they can find the people doing this channel through the videos they need to find all of them and charge them as an adult. All this “kids” are old enough to know from right and wrong. They don’t deserve to be sentence as juveniles.
The thing that gets me is that as a teenager - I would have NEVER thought this was ok. A lot of this reckless behavior I’m seeing (as a now young adult) is from teenagers who went though the Covid quarantine at 15 and younger. I truly believe that a lot of these kids suffered greatly bc of the mass lack of socialization and no doubt lack of proper parenting so they just don’t care or even have a single thought about consequences. Like I did dumb shit as a teenager but never to the extent of STEALING A CAR ?!?
Plus Not all insurance is equal. You just need liability insurance to drive it aka It's insured when the insured driver makes a mistake against other drivers/while driving. Insurance like that doesn't care if your car gets broken into, stolen, then wrecked by teenagers trying to be cool on a stupid app. They don't know anything about actually owning a car or if they do, they're just so desensitized and selfish. It's rather scary how widespread this is.
I'm from Louisville, about a decade ago two preschoolers were hit by teens in a stolen car and killed. They were with their mom at the crosswalk on their way to a swim lesson. The "should've gotten out of the way" mindset infuriates me.
This happens a lot where I live in East Oakland California. People drive crazy like that everyday, running red lights, driving high speeds. People are always getting ran over and killed.
Living in Wisconsin has been completely changed over the past year. We went from being known for cheese, cows and beer to a serial killer, a volleyball team, and the origin of the Kia Boys 😭
WI has long been known for having the highest drunk driving rate in the US, so driving-related crimes aren't completely out of the blue. Don't feel so bad, though. The whole country is going to hell, not just WI.
banning a social media platform isn’t really gonna do anything cuz they’ll just hop on to another one. not only that but it goes against the 1st ammendant. banning social media has been a very complicated conversation because it either violates your freedom of speech and expression. and/or all the stupidity will go to another social media and ruining it
There’s also a “trend” where kids are calling 911 and reporting 🔫 at schools. The district I work for got locked down twice last week and the poor kids were traumatized.
How is bad parenting suddenly the car manufacturers' fault? Why is there no law suit against TikTok or China? Or the media who themselves explain exactly how to accomplish the theft as they "tell" people don't do it, which is as useful as "don't look down".
Multiple people can be at fault. Just because people shame one source doenst mean others are less guilty. Shitty parenting, a platform that encourages bad behavior, idiotic teenagers, and poor car manufacturing that make it easy to steal are all at fault for this.
This happened in my hometown. Such a sad story. But all the news is talking about is how they were "such good kids that never got in trouble". The saddest thing: How the hell have these tik tok idiots not had to deal with repercussions for their actions? There have been way too many ppl getting hurt. Edit: at 5:18 here... This is what I'm talking about. They look like they're going the sympathetic route. They want u to feel bad for them and not look at the stupidity of their actions.
Parents are just so out of touch, honestly. I'm telling you, all of these teens probably go around malls after school, annoying the employees, hitting each other with products, touching everything and misplacing things. They may not get in trouble, but every retail employee hates them.
@ 2:27 Zero accountability!!! This is the problem! The fact these kids say having no insurance is illegal while talking about stealing cars (also illegal) is astounding!
Welp, if it’s not Tik Tok it will be another form of internet that kids will learn these ignorant ideas from. Parents also need to be held accountable for monitoring their child’s social media. It should be a requirement that parents will be held accountable if they allow for such dumb ideas.
TikTok definitely accelerated it by making such ideas mainstream & easily accessible. There's a reason why RUclips, Instagram, and all other similar platforms cracked down on this kind of content.
While this may be true, Tik Tok definitely has been home to the dumbest shit I've seen or heard of recently. Just like the other comment before mine, other platforms crack down on dangerous content while tik tok just seems to let it be.

@@sunnyandthechlo I'm confused by this comment. Are you saying that because I have no sympathy for their stupidity that this will continue to happen?? And I never said they deserved to die, death is never deserved.
This isn't so much a trend as it is suicide.
Korea International Auto cars suck
That sucks, sorry to hear that
I'm so sorry that you had to go through that. It's sad when people have no respect for other people's property.
issue is that usa poor regs what allow them to cut costs, usa government also to blame as in uk its been mandatory since 1998 to have fitted immobilizers what make it much harder unless you got expensive computer what garages use to by pass the system once got in to the car. in USA Hyundai and KIA vehicles manufactured from 2011 to 2021 that use a steel key do not have immobilizers. a representative for Hyundai, Kia's parent company, said that engine immobilizers are now standard on its vehicles produced as of November 2021 but that some trim levels on older models do not have the equipment. i know my 2011 i20 had one and my newer 2015 i20 has immobilizer and new one has an alarm too and im in uk, looks like they cut costs for usa market due to poor usa regs. this is what it is in uk and rest europe , all kia and Hyundai vehicles sold into the European market are fitted with category 2 immobilisers or category 1 alarms as standard.
They are despicable trash. It has nothing to do with their age. They will be assholes for the rest of their (hopefully short) lives
The lack of empathy is pretty standard, while obviously there are outliers, empathy itself is something that only fully developes by the time you're in your mid twenties. Not saying that teenagers don't understand right from wrong, and can't be empathetic, but there's a lot more going on in their brains that can override those.
@@insertname3977 Yeah this applies to things like being mean to a classmate, skipping class, etc. Not committing gta and putting innocent people & their own lives at risk. There is no excuse.
@@liv-sh5tf Except that's objectively untrue and is very naive at best, and downright ignorant at worst.
It's not even unheard for preteens to do despicable things. Look at the Jamie Bulgar case where two young boys, kidnapped, sexually tortured and murdered a toddler. Neither of them felt any remorse for it.
@insertname3977 BULL-FUCKING-SHIT!!! having this little empathy is not normal at any age past kindergarten!

Exactly in other countries they would be to busy trying to find food and water or fighting in conflicts.

The class action lawsuit against the car makers is the dumbest s*** in the world. Any car can be stolen, it’s not their fault some kid figured out how to steal one car over another. Right?! Can you imagine knowing you raised such a piece of crap moron kid?! Super embarrassing for the parents.
...Not really? "What is the worst that could happen if I do this?" "How likely is that thing to happen?" "How likely is a bad thing but not the worst thing to happen?" "What do I gain from this if NOTHING goes wrong?" "What is the _BEST_ thing that can happen if this goes well?"
Even in the best case scenario, "The passenger in the car that was stolen and driven around by an underage kid very stylishly" never blows up with fame, even if in some great miracle, the driver did. Actions have consequences. Parental neglect was the action in this case.
They should have raised them better.

It either shows me make up tutorials(because I'm a woman), mukbangs (because I watched a few food reviews) ASMR (because I watched stop motion stuff with that in the title) or good stuff that I've already watched a million times. And the ads are even worse because it mainly promotes men products because I'm into gaming. And I've been on this app for years. So I think tik tok would do way worse....
I tried to convince myself today that the youth isn't "lost and/or doomed", but then videos like this highlight the contrary.
bonus points for the kids who told the guy in the mint hoodie that he should have tried to outrun a car.
As much as i hate stereotypeing people but.
If it helps, past generations did stupid stuff too a la the choking game and chicken racing (if you've seen "Rebel Without A Cause", you know what a bad idea that is).
The youth of today isn’t lost or doomed, the dumb shit that teens do is just being recorded now. Just because you’re seeing it for the first time doesn’t mean its new.
@@montague8878 i mean it seems like common sense started Dissapiring the moment tiktok started.

"Bruh, that's illegal!" 😂
You'd think this tiktok trend won't get any worst, fucking imagine 20 years from now, tiktok trend slash your vein and see who last longer.
hopefully it doesn't take 20 years for that trend to take off... survival of the fittest took too long of a break and now we have idiots like this...
don't give them ideas
Didn't they have 1 where guys would but a loaded gun to their dick/balls? I don't remember if it was from tik tok, but I remember this dude blew off his nut or something. Can definitely see your example be real.
Please. So many future catastrophes could be prevented.
Remember people carving Justin beibers initials in their arms?
I wish police could use the tiktoks as evidence to give some kind of charge to the people who posted them. That would maybe at least help stop people from publicly posting and bragging about their crimes.
Why can't they?
@@nonyabusiness3619 because you "can't prove it was them" even if they were in the video. Or they will just sue to department because they got caught.
You can though, it would definitely be classed as circumstantial and hearsay evidence, but it would be admissible in court
Maybe it's not so much that they "can't" so much as they just "don't"
@@h.b.theminimalist489 the police can prove it but the DAs are letting everyone go.
This looks like a more dangerous version of the infinite money glitch with Chase.
it’s kind of a fitting punishment that if there was going to be a survivor, it’d be the driver. He has to carry that now. For what-Clout?
Can't get hyped up by "the boys" when there aren't the boys anymore lol.
@F00DKing Thats...genuinely pathetic. Like, yeah man, third wave feminism is moronic...But you're making the rest of us who disagree with it look like we have the IQ of spaghetti. Please, if you're going to rep anti-third wave-feminism, do it by keeping your mouth closed. The rest of us will do the arguing for you in a far more eloquent fashion.
Honestly I don't even think the survivor will care. He killed his friends for clout and got it; now on to the next "challenge" with new "friends" that'll encourage this pathetic pick-me behavior
I dont feel bad that these people are dying. You know right from wrong at an early age. No sympathy
I feel the same way but was afraid to state that. The only sympathy I have is for the person who had their car stolen.
@@tootsd Same 💯
@@tootsd exactly. Them saying you should have insurance annoys me. The person is left without a vehicle for the time being, insurance doesnt always pay out full value and its a pain. People need to stop being so PC about all this. Some people are just bad people, so if they die while commiting a crime, it as least saves tax payers money having to deal with them. Also stops repeat offenders lol
@@SoHighIFly Let's be honest. That kid talking about insurance doesn't give a fuck. Insurance could not be a thing and he's still do it. If the four kids that died were his friends he still wouldn't care. Guys only cares about himself.
@@strenifstrecs2551 I know it says that the person that survived was released from the hospital but we need to use them as an example. Charge that person with theft and 4 counts of manslaughter. And if they hurt any innocent people then they need crack down on it even harder. Charge them with murder.
Things were going downhill even before that. Quarantine probably just sped things up a bit.
“Get out of the way”
“You should have had it, that’s illegal”
🤨 This boy/man and his friends are going to have to learn the hard way
Sadly it won't be in jail for a day it'll be in a crash because they refuse to arrest people like this for some reason...
Guy stealing car: you should had insurance that’s illegal
Bruh
The irony
also its not illegal. If you don't have insurance you cannot DRIVE the car. You can still own it and keep it parked in your residence.
Plus
Not all insurance is equal. You just need liability insurance to drive it aka
It's insured when the insured driver makes a mistake against other drivers/while driving.
I just can't make myself feel sorry for the driver. He put himself in that position. He knew better, and he knew it was dangerous.
Living in Wisconsin has been completely changed over the past year. We went from being known for cheese, cows and beer to a serial killer, a volleyball team, and the origin of the Kia Boys 😭
So....make some better beer. Its time to turn this trend back around.
I'm English but didn't you guys vote in democrats. If so then the faults on you all that did that....why,???
WI has long been known for having the highest drunk driving rate in the US, so driving-related crimes aren't completely out of the blue. Don't feel so bad, though. The whole country is going to hell, not just WI.
@@JanelleDianeH hell the world is going in a hand basket
Perhaps another great question is, should TikTok just get outright banned from the USA?
Yes
banning a social media platform isn’t really gonna do anything cuz they’ll just hop on to another one. not only that but it goes against the 1st ammendant. banning social media has been a very complicated conversation because it either violates your freedom of speech and expression. and/or all the stupidity will go to another social media and ruining it
I just commented this lol, definitely needs to be a thing
Yes, as it's Chinese and they are stealing our data.
Y E S and say it louder for the people in the back
Hey wait til Atozy sees what they are doing on TikTok now. Bank Fraud. 😂 💀
There’s also a “trend” where kids are calling 911 and reporting 🔫 at schools. The district I work for got locked down twice last week and the poor kids were traumatized.
There was a trend when i was in school where kids made bomb threats to the school for internet clout. They are now in jail.
How is bad parenting suddenly the car manufacturers' fault? Why is there no law suit against TikTok or China? Or the media who themselves explain exactly how to accomplish the theft as they "tell" people don't do it, which is as useful as "don't look down".
50% sure you can't sue a foreign country to be honest.
@@bubblemonkeys they can't. 😂
Bad parenting? They don't have parents.
I think the design flaw that makes them easy to steal is the problem. They knew about the design flaw, but sold the car with it anyway.
Don’t blame the media blame the parents because I grew up with the same trash media but did this shit with sense made pipe bombs with fuses long enough for me to throw and get behind cover
You are an idiot. A parent can be amazing, diligent, and loving, but a 16 year old will still find a way to make stupid decisions.
Knowing that you're now a father, I could see the emotions you felt when you talked about the teen mom getting killed in that dangerous stunt.
Such a terrible thing. I can't relate because I don't have a child of my own. I can only imagine.
He don’t gotta worry, most of those kids lived in the ghetto. Atozy white so he’s fine and smart.
Atozy's a dad?! When was this?!
I live in Buffalo, and this is terrifying! I take that same thruway at the 33/ 198 split multiple times a week for appointments. The city is just starting to breath easy after the May mass shooting at Tops. Can we catch a break?? Especially for the black community who's been through enough!
Ending up dead because you steal isn't cool.... But your dead body surely feels cold.

I’m watching this in the hospital after being in a car accident n when I say I’m wanting to cry. People are really out here endangering others lives is disgusting to me
People are doing it on the freeway in their own cars every single fucking day here in Ohio. The amount of people I watch BARELY make an exit across 3 lanes of traffic and a double white line to cut someone off is....well...I wish they wouldn't make it, okay? Thats how fucking often it happens. And almost always, I find a way to pull up next to them, phone in hand looking at it while trying to type or phone next to ear jabbering away.
I wonder if those boys would have answered differently if he had asked what would they do if one of their friends or family got ran over because of that "challenge"

It's sad all around... this has been going on for months and TT didn't take down the videos. Kia and Hyundai need to address the issue as well. Edit: State of New Hampshire doesn't require car insurance.

You can blame KIA for being TOO easy to steal but the fact that people are willing to steal a car and put everyone in danger for a quick fun and online clout is a bigger problem in itself.
A lot of insurance companies stop insuring Kias and Hyundai because of this trend. And I seen some cases where they were being charged more than a car payment to insure these vehicles. “Shoulda had insurance, that’s illegal” He one of the reasons most these vehicles do not have insurance.
