When I saw Verdant Landscape's verification video and the gameplay, the music. That made me rethink of coming back to GD seriously, solely because of this level 👀
I had much more fun creating after LN which is why I think they turned out better. also concaved is a sequel to LN, same with lucid chaos, They both are sequels and it will make sense once I finish infinite and explain the entire series. Fun side note, with anoxysm I playtested that and made sure lemons didn't butcher it, I think I did a decent job :L
30:44 As a Stalemate Redux victor I wholeheartedly agree, I kinda love the last part in particular just because it being easier makes the nerves way higher since you'd be thinking "I've beat all the hard parts, and there's still a lot of level left, but I could clear this now if I lock in", like the part convinces you that it could be the run the moment you make it there and it's very unique in that way
I couldn't agree more about your Heat Wave take. I'll go like many months without thinking of the level but whenever I see a video of it I'm always just blown away by the energy
making a 1 hour review video feel THIS interesting is very very impressive, your energy kept me on my toes throughout the entire thing, not once did i want to click off. amazing work, i know how hard it is to make videos like these and how much effort it takes, and im here to tell you that you succeded in a fashion like no other!
For anyone wondering, he got the score by doing (I'm going to take an example): GP: 0,5 X 70, RESULT : 100 = 0,35 DECO: 4,5 X 25, RESULT : 100 = 1,125 MUSIC: 4,5 X 5, RESULT : 100 = 0,225 THEN : 0.35 + 1,125 + 0,225 = 1,70
if im being honest sphere is imo probably one of the worse creo songs, feels needlessly repetitive and kinda empty. it does have a pretty decent melody all things considered i dont blame creo tho, it's a pretty old track and he's improved a lot since then.
As someone who beat Acu as their first extreme and Cata as my second I can agree that it is truly a much better option. Had I not beaten Acu before Cata I wouldn't have even tried going for it.
I am kind of disappointed that Shape of the Sun wasn't there but other than that, INCREDIBLE VIDEO! If you do see this Technical, please play Shape of the Sun!
47:17 Acu was my first extreme demon that I’ve beaten, I remember it still to this day. The level is so fun and I would always recommend to try it and play it again. Edit: Ok, Quaoar being number one on your list is something that I feel really good with.
i dont know why but this video was just what i needed today and it released at the best possible time, rankings aside there are a lot of memories i got to relive throughout this video that were mentioned and i dont know i just needed that, really awesome video
TBF I could see how it would get annoying when playing the level over and over, and the fact it doesn’t sync properly with the level in some parts. As a song though it’s gotta be at least an 8 for me
Dude i love how much you can tell in this video that tech has such passion for this game, its something ive failed to find in any other game community and probably why ive stuck with GD as my main game growing up. Thanks tech for all the content over the years.
WHAT an amazing video! I thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing, it's so interesting to hear your perspective on all these levels ESPECIALLY having beaten a good chunk of them now! I ABSOLUTELY want to do a video like this once I've completed the demonlist (I've done almost 50% of the levels to this point!!!). Here are some extremes I've beaten that I think you would really enjoy! Quaoar by Flosia: I beat this this morning and it was INCREDIBLE, certainly one of my new favorites. It's incredibly satisfying to play and feels completely fair despite being incredibly chaotic. Seeing how much you enjoyed Viprin's Quaoar I think you'd love this one. Maybe not more than Viprin's, but still. SPEEDRUN by Kaito: Like Quaoar, this is incredibly satisfying to play, and feels fair despite being chaotic. It's very second half-heavy, but it's super consistent. (At least it was in practice, I can't say solidly how it is from 0 because I beat it in quite literally ELEVEN attempts from 0, albeit with a steady progression and no massive fluke) Pandemonium by Yakimaru: An XL wave-based level that is ABSURDLY intense while playing from 0. The last wave intimidated the fuck out of me when I practiced it for the first time. But GOD it was so fun to do. UltraSans by PlebKingdom: Just a solid Ultrasonic remake with very few gameplay flaws if any. I would also recommend Dry Out Copyable 2, I haven’t beaten it but I learned it and it was incredibly fun despite being Top 60 and despite the dumb name, like the Ouro one you did
I recently started putting real attempts into bloodbath and I really have to say that I'm having a lot of fun with it. Yes, of course, it's incredibly difficult, but the click patterns are really fun and aren't horribly difficult to get consistent.
I am so happy to see my favourite extreme demon at number 3. Jenkins has always been one of my favourite creators, and zettabyte is the best level he's made. Sad that it is flying under the radar more and more...
for Trollmachine, I think a good part of the reason for big differences in people's gameplay enjoyment is the amount of updates it's gotten; the older version(s) were relatively janky, but as it is now it feels basically as close to perfect as a sync level can be
I thought I was the only one to have Quaoar as one of my favorite levels of all time, and seeing you have it at number 1 (in extreme demons u completed) is so SATISFYING. You don't have good taste, you have the CORRECT taste in GD levels. but I still prefer CICADA3302 over Quaoar, you definitely should give it a try btw!
I dropped napalm a year ago cause I hated the gameplay so much, but now that I'm so much better at the game I'll give it another try because I think levels have a very different feel when they are at the top of your skill ceiling versus being just another level
agreed with your Rate Demon opinion, i loved playing that level so much even though it took me a while. its so consistent but the last ship part is a big difficulty spike and i had nearly 50 deaths there
13:51 Cataclysm was actually almost MY first extreme demon! LuigiDB heard about this but I was actually play-testing a level I was buidling one night and decided to play Cataclysm afterwards, but what happened was I was using noclip to playtest something in the level I was building and forgot to turn it off after saving it to go play Cata, so it looked like I had one attempted Cataclysm after not having played it the whole day. I looked back through the twitch clips and was so mad. Had Noclip been off, it would have been a fluke from 64. I think I took like a month long break from Geometry Dash after that...
You should really try Black Flag, one of the funniest extreme demons I've ever played and imo it could easily be top 20 - 10 with your criteria, really hoping you try it someday
In my personal experience, the orbs that i put in ship parts are to make it sync to the song better or to make it so u dont click an extra time and go up to high to get into the next structure
I'm so glad that Falling Up got a rating of 9 for the song, Time Leaper remains one of my favorite songs of all time Also I'm gonna press X to doubt for the statement at 40:30
Cataclysm was going to be my first extreme. But I ended up dropping it 3 times and going for a different extreme (hidden is the sand as my first, bloodbath as second, Acu as third). And after Acu it took a month with a lot of breaks to beat that pile of garbage. Also, I like phobos and carnage mode. I didnt beat phobos yet because its a bit boring, but it is super consistent all through out (except that one transition from wave to dual ship). Carnage mode is simply fun because of how simple the game play is. Im doing it rn and its very enjoyable. The only issue is that I have to re-learn the first ship every seision as its super hard but its not that bad.
I didn't remember him mentioning the spreadsheet in the description, so I just watched the entire video, writing down every name, ranking, and score. I spent over an hour on it, Tech already did that work, and I cant even post it, it's too large 😭
i think all of these combined are harder than clutterfunk
pretty hot take but honestly I could see it
idk the first ship in clutterfunk is pretty tough
nah the mini cube on clutterfunk is impossible. almost tho. maybe if this gets some buffs it can beat clutterfunk.
Hmm, not so sure about that.
Only the current version, unnerfed clutterfunk clears this entire list
When I saw Verdant Landscape's verification video and the gameplay, the music. That made me rethink of coming back to GD seriously, solely because of this level 👀
