Russia. The only country where their late 90's and early 2000 planes still require a flight engineer.

Absolute strange communication and coordination. Don't want to be a passenger. Nevertheless interesting video.

Never quite understood all the yelling and the callouts in Russian cockpits. And why do they need a full on soccer team up there?

Wow. Great plane. But it's really to understand what's going on... Russian pilots and crews are completely different to western crews... not to mention that all of the aircraft's systems and displays are in Cyrillic. I would not feel safe on one of those places unfortunately. I'm sure that Russian pilots are great, but there's something not right about it all... and the language barrier... wow. These pilots seem to have had a hard time trying to communicate with Izmir.

It is a different culture of CRM to our western ways but effective enough for them. Before I criticise I better show some respect and understanding. I do not speak Russian but could follow through in terms if piloting anticipation. A bit low on the glideslope at the end and thrust reversers came on a bit late but they got the job done and no harm so it is good enough in my books! I think the heavy nose drop is an aircraft specific feature. Touch down was smooth. Thank you for letting us in behind the iron curtain. These Russian Pilots are not to be underestimated. Their training is much more deeper and difficult then western counterparts plus there is the language barrier. Good video. Please include English subtitles on the next video. Cheers!
