I just fucking love these guys. They don’t claim to know how music should be, they do it the way they feel is right and that’s it. I am stocked I will see them in October for the first time.
I always find these guys very fascinating. they have a completely different take on what Black Metal is.

I only got into Enslaved recently. I can't believe I missed out for so long.
I just discovered them last year which is insane because they have an amazing catalogue... I find they tend to get overshadowed by contemporary but blander acts
What an awesome moment in your life! A lot of homework to do! I think I like every song from this band, they're awesome. Vikingligr Veldi/Frost/Eld from the first era. The split with Emperor is awesome too! Vertebrae and The Sleeping Gods EP from most recent times. What an awesome band. One of my favorites for sure!
I only discovered them when Riitiir came out and since then they have become my favorite band of all time.

Enslaved is an elite band - as far as musicianship in extreme metal. They are top notch. I only listen to a handful of extreme metal bands...they are one of 'em 🤘🏼
I've seen Enslaved 10 times at least. On frost tour when they weren't very well known. Only 30 people showed up at the thirsty whale in Chicago. They put on an amazing show regardless how many people were there.. Brutal as hell. Hail Enslaved!
Game Metal Damn dude. It's always crazy to me seeing a band that's legendary in their genre of metal (or even just huge to me personally) playing small clubs/crowds. I prefer smaller venues to the point I don't even remember the last "concert" I've gone to....... but I also feel like these guys put in decades of touring as a great band, they deserve more than that you know?
Actually a recent example- I saw Toxic Holocaust in november, opening for Municipal Waste, which was cool but in terms of seniority and impact felt a little wrong lol. They absolutely killed it too.
(Nothing against municipal waste at all, they have put in their own time doing basements I'm sure.)
Definitely working on trying to see them live. Whoever manages their verified Facebook page, considering I am a visually impaired person I wrote especially since I found out they were doing a performance at a metal festival in Germany and my husband had no vacation time and I had no one to take care of my guide dog because that will be too loud for her. I said, love to see you guys in concert and I love you to death, but my husband has no time off and as a blind girl, even though my guide dog loves your music to death to because she’s got a techno Tail good rhythm, it’s a little too loud for her and they appreciated my comment. So we’re working on getting it live one of these days
Frost is one of their best albums IMO. They have soooooo many wicked albums!!!!
I've only seen them twice, but the first time was at a venue in Detroit called The Shelter during the Monumension tour, it was Enslaved, Electric Wizard and third band I can't remember. It was so heavy and brutal, just amazing!

I've seen Enslaved 14 times now. I've always viewed them as underrated as I think they SHOULD be up there with your Dissections, Emperors and Satyrions when you talk titans of the genre.

These guys are legends. Love their first few albums. I discovered them through Frost, around the same time I was looking at early Burzum, Mayhem, Dimmu and Behemoth. On first listen of Frost I was like, "man, what the hell is this?" Good stuff.
Not as much into below the lights or Axioma Ethica Odini?
Gotta be honest tho Vikingligr Veldi is one of my fave metal albums.
lol I had the same experience listening to 'Frost' the first time. Lately though I feel they're releasing too many albums too fast.
Awesome interview! I discovered Enslaved while watching the "Headbanger's Journey" film the first day it was released, and I'm so fucking thankful that I did.

Hakon is a great addition to the band and a genuinely nice dude. After the set he walked over and handed me the setlist directly and I got it and all my other Enslaved albums signed by the band. These are some of the classiest musicians you'll ever see and I love them to death.
Can't wait till these dudes make their way back to Canada again.
All-time fav band, so glad they don't seem to be slowing down in any way (both songwriting and touring-wise). Can't wait for what the future is going to bring!
Greatest black metal band for me! And the guys are pure gold, they recommended me a few Nordic pop acts which are amazing on their live stream. Skuggsja and Huggsja are also amazing!

I saw them last week at Frantic Fest in Italy, so much mastery in these guys.
Fuck yes. I didn't expect to see Enslaved in my RUclips feed not around a time they're releasing something. Needless to say, pleasant surprise. One of the few bands that's become part of my DNA and I'll never forget.

i'd seen Enslaved in Philly---2000ish---i was an instant fan. nope, i had never heard of them prior. that had (have) something in their music i liked.
I saw Enslaved on their recent tour with Wolves in the Throne Room, Khemmis, and Myrkur. I was always more into thier bm focused stuff, but the later progressive content is fantastic too. Great interview!

Been a fan since 94, finally saw them live on Dynamo 1998. Much respect for the groundbreaking works they did paving the way in the early 90s. *Hweh*

Just started listening to Enslaved in the past year. I am gravely disappointed I hadn't heard them before. I have yet to find an album by them that I don't like. They are truly the thinking man's metal.

I've watched interviews with some metal bands and they try to come across as dark and mysterious is so hilarious to me. There's an interview on this channel with the clown guy from Slipknot and the whole time he's acting all edgy and tortured it's so fucking dumb whereas Enslaved just act like regular people.
