Those two hooks or climbing assists at 0.25 are sure to be added afterward. They aren't original. The welding quality is so bad that a German mechanic would be having a heart attack by seeing them there. Also, the hull is Ausführung A (Sd. Kfz. 171)
+Panzer Picture that is not true only the bergepanther G has a kugelblende ;) i have several books who say it is true ;) im investigating it cause i am building a bergepanther aus A
There were Ausf A and G Bergepanthers but they were pretty rare, the most were Ausf D, so you just pretty much answered your one question. Here is a D with a spade, so they did have them. www.achtungpanzer.com/images/bergev.jpg

They are orginal crew editions and can be seen on pictures from 1946.
Am I missing something ... Why is the winch on the ground ? 🤔
Display and they were just finished with restoring it.
TFS, G :)
Bergepanther A ;) not D
It's a D my friend. :)
+Panzer Picture how do you reccognize it as a D? bergepanther d dont has a spade and winch ;)
A ausf A has a kugelblende (mgbal) and maybe the spade is a restoration edition, it does not have the spade on the older pictures.
