Great conversation. Kids definitely need to hear what they can do more than what they can't. It can be tough sometimes!

This is so great, and really helpful! I do question if the word "No" in itself is negative, or just the way in which its being used. If a child is being influenced to do something troublesome by peers, encountering a stranger, or are involved in an uncomfortable or unhealthy situation, the word NO is a boundary. I completely understand positive reinforcement/redirection, but they'll also hear the word no from others as they grow. How can they truly develop healthy character and self-regulation without hearing a good healthy "No" sometimes? I like that Dr. Green talked about explaining No, and talking through what that means.

Going back to catch up is often confusing on RUclips. It would help if you put the links in your descriptions.

I am so glad I found these videos. I do have a question about not saying no. So when a child has their hand raised with a wooden block over another child's head, I say no, no. Stop!. We don't hurt our friends. And I do see tears because they dont like "no" but is there any other way to handle it?
