You’re so right!! I felt a huge burn out during the winter & the problem was everyone at the center was burned out in my opinion. I had no mentors, no one with real experience to help and my only option was social media. It’s actually how I found you, and Dr Carolyn Bobb Green, & few others that I love to listen to.I’m truly grateful to you because you gave me sooo many options and ideas. Thank thank you for all that you do.
Last year I was in my 2nd year of teaching a PreK Special Needs class. My students and parents were wonderful!!! Even though that was the case I still felt that I was a failure! I felt that way because my classroom aides literally told me every day that I was a failure! The one aide told me several times that I needed to find another career because teaching wasn’t for me. Throughout the day there was constant criticism about the way I did things. When I brought up to admin how I was being treated I was told that these aides were golden and that I should appreciate their constructive criticism! I hope and pray that next year is better! I will be at another school next year! I have learned so much from the PreK Pages videos! I would appreciate any advice or feedback!
So helpful. Thank you! I got in trouble my first year teaching with getting all the kids to the bathroom and back to the classroom by myself with no help and no explanation how I was supposed to do it. I was just doing my best. ❤
I've been teaching for over 36 years and still sometimes feel gutted after a bad class. By the way, I'm Secondary trained and then moved over to younger and younger groups as an English as a Foreign Language specialist in Spain. Self-demanding and passionate practitioners are like that. Bad moment? Reflect and move on.

Energy transfer is real. Be mindful of who you let touch you.

I haven't even told you the story of my class of 36 yet! #truestory (spoiler alert: they did hire another teacher, but not until November)
