What's even crazier is that even if he WAS filming residents, it's still not illegal. He was on a public sidewalk. Anything you can see from a public area can be recorded.
I love the "where did you get your law degree" question, as 99% of cops have never gotten a law degree either, an informed citizen I'd a dangerous citizen to the police.
Yep, that’s the unfortunate reality…the duty of the police is to know the law completly in order to provide authority and the duty of the citizens is to ALSO be educated in the law to prevent tyranny…yet both cops and citizens fail in that aspect most of the time, it’s unfortunate
Exactly. Where's YOUR law degree officer? Just got back from your law practice? Best case scenario, criminal justice degree, but that's a longshot, they're just the ones who make up the pseudosciences that get taught to cops. High school diploma + 6 months training is what most of these guys have, guaranteed.
This is true, they themselves have to ask lawyers what is and isn’t legal and how far they can go without overstepping (at least the good ones do). But reality is that most citizens also don’t know jackshit about laws and they misinterpret them all the time. They were 100% within their right to detain him and that includes handcuffs while they figure everything out. I know most people coming here want to hate on cops and although I have my gripes with them, I also have to be logical about these situations and not just blinded by hatred.

Judge: Yeah, still not guilty..
The judicial system is corrupt and broken!
At least one party must give consent in order to record an in-person conversation, unless the person recording is a party to the conversation. § 5-60-120. 16:08 in this context he would be doing something illegal due to the fact no one consented (that we know of). Yes he might have been on the side walk but due to this code he would be committing a crime
I like the one where the DRUNK police chief gets handsy with a on duty Sargent, Then tells him he's fired. Corruption from the top down, this is how it works with police in the United States.
If he is a representative of law enforcement, the kid knows the law better.
If billy had a dollar for every time he was told he was suspended, billy would’ve retired that night 😂
“Billy, your suspended”
“Billy’s suspended”
😂
You see how cops treat one of their own with respect and let off with warnings while the people that pay their salary are treated like criminals
They are trained to do that
I guess those are the good cops he’s claiming exist.
I can see why some people are treated this way
Welp ig none of you had to deal with corrupt law enforcement 🤷🏻♂️
_Everybody_ is paying their salary. So? Some of those paying (under the threat of the government gun) happen to be criminals. Should the cops not deal with them or something? Your point?!
w for sedrick getting that bag. guy seemed like a chill working family man who was frustrated and completely fucked over . hope him n his family r eating well.
