One thing i love about having Nick Kyrgios in court is his father's whistle, if you haven't noticed, each time they make (kok and kyr) a point his father whistles very loud and it's something so nice to hear. Having your father support you like that is heartwarming.
Would be great if these guys plan on playing together more. Dubs has its own exciting qualities; especially when you have a great partner. Nick seems like a team guy (considering he's mentioned he likes basketball more than tennis) and I think having Kokkinakis there with him as a teammate and good friend will help him have more fun and stay more positive on the court. He'll have somebody he can verbally bounce his thoughts/feelings with. (Which was also evident when he played with Venus). Singles can be lonely. VERY different stakes when you're playing for more than yourself and have someone there to support. Despite the gripes I have with some of the over-the-top tantrums he throws between his insane shots in singles, dubs may be a quality fit for him. Hopefully they stay healthy and look to play more in the future. Especially with the confidence given considering the seeds they've beat.
Kyrgios is one of the worst sports in pro tennis. He hit a ball 80-90 mph into the stands and made a young boy cry two days ago. He smashed his racket , threw a chair and swore horribly at the umpire another tournament. I’ve played semi-professional tennis for 35 years and have never acted like that. I’m not an idiot. Kyrgios is sometimes. And now he’s fun to watch play doubles. He’s “great for tennis.” And horrible for tennis. Similar to Jimmy Connors and how he was.
You smack a ball 90 mph into the ground, you know it’s Likely going to land in the stands. It’s an accident but he was reckless. He’s a horrible sport. But he’s fun to watch usually. And sometimes he’s a disgrace to the sport. The crowd forgave him and it’s awesome TV this week.
Thais is how a doubles match have to be. The crowd going crazy, the players vibrating at all points. Doubles nerd that emotion to have the public attention.
Big difference in being confident and being arrogant and disrespectful to fellow players. If you have to the crowd involved as a distraction to obtain points, or just to just to boost egos. Where’s the decorum the Opens once had? These players should not be getting away with such behavior just because they are on home turf.
...lol that crowd. Sounds like the Roman Colosseum "Send out the lions!!!" .... They even outdo the USO and FO crowds. I half expected Nick to start fist pumping and reciting the Braveheart speech in the middle of the match... "Crikey! play and you may lose. Lob and you'll stay in the match, at least a little while. And dying in your beds many years from now, would you be willing to trade all the doubles matches for that one chance to tell the ITF and TA that you can make us wear our masks, take the vaccine, but youll never take our rackets!!! Freeedooom!!!" I thought the lady announcer at the first introduced Nick and Thanasi as "The evil crocodiles" 🤔

When two Aussies walk into a stadium on their homeland and get booed and also when they win the match, that’s not good lol. It’s obvious they don’t care either
I can understand why you think that they're booing them but they're actually not at all. They're saying SIIUUUU from the Ronaldo meme. Kyrgios said in a press conference he finds it annoying but they know the Aussie crowd has their backs.
@@clickstorm847 Yeah I saw another comment that had said that. It really sounds like booing haha. Ok I retract my statement. Thank you for informing me and apologize about the mix up

AO best highlights of any slams. Extended highlights for doubles what a blessing.
Absolutely! I love good doubles.

You gotta live a whistle from someone in a sports game
Rare for a doubles match getting this type of energy nowadays. Great playing from both teams!

Yes - maybe doubles is the arena where Kyrgios can fulfil his monstrous talent.
I hate to admit this but if they make it to the final I will watch my first doubles match.
Very true
I would also, but you are asking too much
doubles > singles
Hahaha. Dubs is more fun.
You should check out doubles matches either way, they can be underrated and very exciting!
Just what Aussie fans need! Well done! I hope they just keep winning to keep Aussie spirits up! 🇦🇺
Tennis Australia banned: "Where is Peng Shuai?" a rape victim as political, but promotes "pride day".
