  • This physics video tutorial explains how to solve typical gauss law problems such as the insulating sphere which contains electric charge throughout the volume of the sphere and not just the surface. This video shows you how to derive the formula to calculate the electric field inside the sphere and how to express that formula using the volume charge density of the sphere. It also shows you how to calculate the electric field outside of the sphere which behaves as a point charge.
