❤ It Jonathon. ❤ the blending and ❤what you did with all those colours. It would have been interesting to see where you were going when you first started! Maybe another time ! ❤ all your work no matter what you do .
Awe, hello, Lily! ❤❤❤ I think you should try the first one again sometime. You weren’t far enough along to be able to tell what the end result would have been. Go for it! Riskit for a biscuit! ❤
I love that blending is your go to for something quick and easy. It’s something I’ve tried and can’t get the hang of. Nice little project. The finish looks like a sigh. Soft. Airy.
❤❤❤ Evelyne France
I think the first idea was simply too busy, whereby it is really a question of taste. I could imagine a part of a bigger furniture with this pattern, maybe a top of a large table or a side and one or two feet of a big wardrobe ending somewhere at the door could be very interesting, great and modern. The final solution is just wonderful. To see all these beautiful muted shades blended together on that small piece of furniture is a fairy tail for the eyes and the heart. Love it!
I like the end result but would also be very interested in seeing you do the other technique on something to see what you really had envisioned! You're right that they're both different from your style but that's fun for us to see now and then! Beautiful piece!
Turned out beautifully. However, I would have loved to watch the first idea go ahead. I was thinking that it didn't work out as you expected maybe blending all the colours in a whirl motion with a rounded brush would ended up nice. Sometimes is good to go out of our comfort zones to discover other aspects of our art. You have all what it takes to do it.❤
I didn’t like the patch work BUT I LOVE the finish product. Maybe patch work for later when you have lots more time. Great work as usual my Artist 🧑🎨 ❤🇨🇦🥰🤗👍👏🏼♥️♥️❤️♥️❤️
This is pretty for a beach house. I just might try it! I love all of your work Jonathon and think you’re one of the best teachers in furniture painting!
I think the first idea has a place somewhere but I think the final product was more appropriate for this piece. It’s one of my favorite pieces that you’ve done. Great job!
I love the idea of your project. I love even more that you chose black and mixed it with the colours. I’d normally choose white which makes everything so much more pastel and light. Thanks for releasing the black idea. I think the different shades is a great technique for someone to choose should they wish. Thank you
I think this piece is just so so pretty😍😍😍😍😍 I thought your original idea would have looked really different… in a good way😊 maybe if you had had more time and a few more paint brushes…, but I love the cabinet❤️
*It looks like a High end Decor Item, in a magazine.* The muted shades and blending are the en-Vogue at present, interior Design Colors too. I'm just a bit too OCD, requiring a clear vision, Colors with Flavor, rather than the edging towards the foggy and even pastels. But, that's just where my preferences are. The market has a following, lol, you pick it call it the new/now, and the young, naive, follow it like ducks to water. However, be that as it may, the Design Challenge resulted in some very worthy color samples, and the piece only needs a "Signature" or Initials, and a Price Tag. Your 1st idea (I totally got that, but it requires about 10 times longer, to get it "fit"), and I would have done exactly what you did. I think you met and surpassed the challenge. Me? I would have gotten out the Benjamin Moore Caliente Red and "Fired that Box up!" ... and a little dark wax, and some Gold Gilding on the knob. *Gotta have some Bling when "Challenged!"* I'm a Rebel, I kid you not, I would have shown up with the Red Box and Matching Accessories, including Red Suede 👠 my Red Gator handbag, Red lipstick 💄 and a Red Hijab! Dolce Gabbana Style ! Imagine That... 🍸 You got yourself a Winner 🏆 😘
My new Decoupage Papers Arrived!!! Got to get in the Package and check out my selections, cause I don't remember what I choose. (My Short Term Mem got wacked with RAI radiation for Graves Disease). But, it's always fun to "Surprise Myself!". lol
I love it! I was also intrigued by the first idea. It just didn’t look like something you would do, so it would be fun to see the end result. However, you nailed it the second time around. Thank you for the tutorials, I started with you and I’m Still here learning.
Yes very unusual to have the drawer and the lower part I think this is a sewing box Annie Sloan gave it to me which was really kind of her and it was that reason that I loved it

❤ all your work no matter what you do .
Luv the muted tones and the subtlety of the end product…it is colorful without being in your face…understated equals classy and that is what you are!

Missed your live, catching up on replay. Looking forward to seeing this.😀

That's the sweetest little sewing cabinet, I'm a sewing nut and would love that in my sewing room, it turned out beautifully ❤️❤️
I prefer the final outcome. It's subtle and works beautifully on a small piece. Lovely, Jonathon. Thank you.
Both approaches would have produced a stunning result IMO, but appreciate you sharing the change of mind that got you to the finished piece.

Turned out very nice. Gold leaf accents I think would really compliment the soft dreamy blending you did.
The blending was way nicer than your first attempt. Great job
Great challenge, beautifully executed.
I am glad you went to blending. I was not sure about colour blocks, but the lovely blended colours look wonderful.
I like the end result but would also be very interested in seeing you do the other technique on something to see what you really had envisioned! You're right that they're both different from your style but that's fun for us to see now and then! Beautiful piece!
Just beautiful John...
You are the blending master!
I was ver curious to see where the original idea would take you but I ❤️ that you recognized that it was time to pivot! The outcome is beautiful ❤❤❤
Ur brave.... LOL. Can't wait to see finished project.... Shared with friends

The original idea is really cool, but the final result is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING 🔥🔥🔥 I would buy it in a heartbeat!
Oh that’s wonderful thank you. I really appreciate your lovely comment 😊❤️
I had my doubts but you made it work because you’re the blending master. Well done
I love the final piece. And the bit you started with was brilliant and it inspired me for a piece that I've been stuck on for a long time. Thanks!
I agree with you about the interesting way you were taking your first design! Great job as always! Love from Iowa USA
I love the colors you created. I’d love to see you try the first idea again but of course what you did is beautiful as everything you do is.
Always going with your gut works. You've done well up to now because you've put in a lot of hard work and your work is always magnificent.
I love your blended look.
Definately love the end resul. Would have liked to see the first idea completed too though 😉

Love the blended look!
Love this piece

Like second idea better.... PHEW
This paint job is better than the first on this little sewing cabinet. The first pattern you did was to large for such a small piece of furniture

Hey, thank you very much, happy creating 😊❤️🙏
Can’t wait….🎉❤
Where did you get the color blend wheel/chart?
❤❤❤
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Is that a drawer on the bottom of the piece? Kinda different
Yes very unusual to have the drawer and the lower part I think this is a sewing box Annie Sloan gave it to me which was really kind of her and it was that reason that I loved it
@@JonathonMarcMendesPaintedLove I have 3 pieces like that where I love the piece and I love the person that gave them to me.
Starts230 pm what time zone.... It's 330 EDT n not playing????
Well, I have to be honest and say, this is not my style or look. But you always know how to use all colors.
Looks very bumpy in parts, like you rushed it and didn’t sand or prep it first
