If we remember correctly it was 1.5 miles. It is a rugged rocky walk and slippery. The hike is decently tough. But we wouldn't discourage you from going. The kids did fine we held there hands the whole time. You'll have to make a personal judgment call based upon you and your sons personal capabilities. It is definitely worth it, highly recommend.
