Thanks for the video. Good info. The hard part is finding a reliable machine shop to mill the head deck flat. Did you replace the valves? Are you going to do a video on the valve adjusting? Thansk again for taking the time to share your knowledge. 👍
Yep 8 of the valves were bent. I do have a video on the valve adjustment, here u go:

LOVE Bundy's Vids, but At 18:40, it says to do a FULL Valve adjustment. BUT, you only need to adjust those which are out of spec. So don't assume you need to losten all the valves and then check them. Check the valves and adjust ONLY the ones out of spec, which if reusing the same head are probably NONE! The only time they MAY be out of spec is if you are replacing the head.
Mine has 12 point head bolts, 22 ft lbs, 90 degrees x 3. I wanted to see what the final torque on those-they all clicked at 120 ft lbs and I believe its still a bit higher. Not a fan of TTY bolts n the cheap angle gauges aren’t that accurate.
New cylinder head bolts are 22 ft lbs then 90 degrees x2

Hey bundy i feel what you saying but the cam jumps when you turn it with a wrench or socket to set the marks for the heads
The new bolts only have half the thread of the 12 point one...are they for different applications?
What can happen if you don't clean properly the engine block or the Piston cylinder head? And what can happen if you touch the new gasket with your fingers and leave behind a track of little grease (organic or inorganic) from my hand
Hello Bundys garage. I was wondering if a v6 3.2 j series have the same casket on both sides front and back heads I know they have guide pins on the engine block.
The caskets look the same right.
Yes I believe they are the same but they might have an UP and DOWN symbol you might have to take into account.

Go with a MLS Fel Pro blue head gasket kit. For the WP go with an Aisin timing belt component kit. Comes with everything you need to do the WP timing belt tensioner and pulleys.
Any where could I get those 2 things. Amazon or rockauto???

Ok, ok, ok, What do you mean with a full valve adjustment before firing up the engine? Can you explain better for me that I am not famyliarized with it at all
Just CHECK the valves before putting on the valve cover. If you are just replacing the headgasket, using the same head, there is PROBABLY no adjusment needed. If you are REPLACING The head, then there may be some difference, and either the valve may be open when it should be closed (Too tight), or you'll hear a lot of tapping if not adjusted.
Do I need to take the strip the whole head apart before I take it to the machine shop? Like take off the cam etc? Someone said that's common courtesy but I really dont want to pull everything off the head considering I'm already tearing half the engine apart
Remove anythinf you don't eant to lose. It's not the machine shop's job to keep track of anything you have left on.
Usually how much to get the head done at the machine shop?
On a Honda V6, between $150 and $200 per head. But it also depends on the machine shop. If your in So Cal I recommend A1 Cylinder Head in Riverside, CA. Tell’em Bundy sent you.
