I lost my wife of 15 years 6 weeks ago. I thought I would be joining her because her death was unbearable for me. Then I realized that one death in the family is enough. She battled stage 4 cancer for 2 years and died a horrible death. Now that she's gone I have realized the strength that she taught me. She was the most fearless person I have ever known. I wish I had the same story of people understanding....I've been going through different meds for 30 years dealing with the different side effects and my dad was a person that told me to suck it up and drive on soldier...... nobody understood I couldn't help it and only made it worse hearing that and me trying to figure out why I couldn't just change my thoughts like he could.....it took him losing his mom sister and wife in a 2 year span to come to me and break down and apologize for not getting that I couldn't control it....he got in a dark place after those deaths and seen what I was dealing with my whole life...good thing was that he had more respect for me and had a better relationship after that breakthrough but he passed away not long after that he didn't kill himself but people said days before they noticed a change in him and a Friday night we talked and I was going to go see that next weekend....12 hours later I got a call saying he was found dead of a heart attack....I know this sounds stupid but I think he just gave up on wanting to live if you can understand
Why does everyone name pills that they have taken when everyone knows they don’t work and actually made things worse . Is that the attempt to try to fix the problem just take a pill ? People who have these problems never help themselves they always want someone else to do it ... if you only knew most the drugs you need if you need any grow in your freakin back and front yards or the creek next to you or it’s inside your brain like dmt and serotonin dopamine... food is medicine and you are your own doctor don’t y’all know this ?

Been takin Xanax since theyvwere prescribed at the age of 11.. no joke. Dexedrine for school and Xanax or Klonopin to come down at night. Now I'm 41 and WASTED MOST of my 30s trying to stay sober.. but I couldnt do it. I have a relationship with Jesus now like never before but I feel like I'll never be able to live a normal life with out meds so I dont panick and freak people out everytime I go into crowded public places. Gods helped me alot, but I'm afraid if I stop all meds at once after so long I'll lose my mind. Any advice is helpful..

Hang in there. I won't say things get better, as that'd be a lie from my experience so far. But you do learn to deal with things better if nothing else. My life has been a non-stop 36 year war ever since my first thought at age 7. I got help at age 16 through meds, they help but it never really goes away fully. I'm tired. My mind is tired. My body is tired. I'm drained. But I'm a soldier so I keep fighting, I just hope all my fighting was worth it.

I feel you 100%! I finally seeked medication 8 months ago after 33 yrs and it helps me cope. My blessing comes from a 3 yr old boy that keeps me afloat. Don't give up brother. I deal with PTSD. I lost my battle buddy and I was supposed to have been by his side. I got hit by a drunk driver 3 months before the deployment to Afghanistan. I came so far from where I was the day I got the message. I went full rage mode and starting chasing the bottle. I kept fighting cause I wanted to live in his memory. I wanted to end the pain and end everything and fuck it all. Now I am married and have 3 boys. That’s the reason why I wasn’t with him. I still struggle. I battle depression with therapy and I made a COMMITMENT with GOD I will Never end my life. It is HARD in these days but I made this commitment. I battled depression from pre- teens well into my twenties. I read my Bible for years and listened to different preachers. Finally, I came to the end of myself and asked Jesus in one night. I asked him to please take this depression and anger away and he did. Over twenty years ago.

I’ve unsure tried to commit suicide 8 times in my life and have been going through a very hard time between my autistic son having to go to a rehab center and my mom dying shortly after that I fell back into a deep depression and this beautiful song motivates me to step out of the depression and try to rise above it! Went to four locked doors. 5th one was open and I went in and got to talk to a preacher. I told him almost every thing and then we prayed. I felt like all the pain was being lifted away. Next Sunday I'm going to church. I feel like there's hope for me now. Don't let your head and heart take you out. Find God and pray. It saves souls that would be lost forever. I've always told people that are in depression that you only live once. You will be dead for ever ...un less you find God. Were only here for a short time. I didn't believe in PTSD or depression until I got back from nearly 7 years in Afghanistan (Contracting after the Marine Corps) and noticed the changes in myself. @@SaintMesus I've kept that fake smile on essentially my whole life, and have always been the person that helps everyone else even at the expense of myself. After losing my father to suicide, and then my home to a fire a few months later- I broke and turned to drugs to keep me numb to the hell I was facing within myself. But I made it out to the other side, found strength I didn't know I had, and most importantly- found my voice. Finally I was able to stand up for myself and those around me, not let my helpful nature be taken advantage of anymore, and win that war within myself. Now I do my best to live my best life, and help others do the same. Freepresion touched my soul, it validated the feelings I'd felt in the darkest times. In a way that reinforces acceptance- you broke down that wall, that stigma, that voice that tells us we can't admit to feeling that way, that we're somehow weak if we do, that no one could understand and we just must be alone. This should be.... Everywhere! This is the most powerful message I've ever heard, and will absolutely save lives. Why does everyone name pills that they have taken when everyone knows they don’t work and actually made things worse . Is that the attempt to try to fix the problem just take a pill ? Been takin Xanax since theyvwere prescribed at the age of 11.. no joke. Dexedrine for school and Xanax or Klonopin to come down at night. Now I'm 41 and WASTED MOST of my 30s trying to stay sober.. but I couldnt do it. I have a relationship with Jesus now like never before but I feel like I'll never be able to live a normal life with out meds so I dont panick and freak people out everytime I go into crowded public places. Gods helped me alot, but I'm afraid if I stop all meds at once after so long I'll lose my mind. Any advice is helpful..

I was diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety at the age of 13... but people say it’s from being on my phone too much but my past is terrible and I have no one to talk to when I’m sad, so I just feel worse and have more thoughts about hurting myself. I honestly loved this a lot

My life has been a non-stop 36 year war ever since my first thought at age 7. I got help at age 16 through meds, they help but it never really goes away fully. I'm tired. My mind is tired. My body is tired. I'm drained. But I'm a soldier so I keep fighting, I just hope all my fighting was worth it.

I deal with PTSD. I lost my battle buddy and I was supposed to have been by his side. I got hit by a drunk driver 3 months before the deployment to Afghanistan.
I came so far from where I was the day I got the message. I went full rage mode and starting chasing the bottle. I kept fighting cause I wanted to live in his memory. I wanted to end the pain and end everything and fuck it all.
Now I am married and have 3 boys. That’s the reason why I wasn’t with him. I still struggle. Some good days but nothing will allow me to give up now cause for the ones I love I will sacrifice.

I battle depression with therapy and I made a COMMITMENT with GOD I will Never end my life. It is HARD in these days but I made this commitment. I battled depression from pre- teens well into my twenties. I read my Bible for years and listened to different preachers. Finally, I came to the end of myself and asked Jesus in one night. I asked him to please take this depression and anger away and he did. Over twenty years ago.
I haven't experienced depression like I had since. Glory to my Father in heaven. If you don't have a dad. God Loves you..right now..broken and all. Don't believe the lies in your head. God loves you and wants to have a relationship with you through his Son Jesus.

I’ve unsure tried to commit suicide 8 times in my life and have been going through a very hard time between my autistic son having to go to a rehab center and my mom dying shortly after that I fell back into a deep depression and this beautiful song motivates me to step out of the depression and try to rise above it! Went to four locked doors. 5th one was open and I went in and got to talk to a preacher. I told him almost every thing and then we prayed. I felt like all the pain was being lifted away. Next Sunday I'm going to church. I feel like there's hope for me now. Don't let your head and heart take you out. Find God and pray. It saves souls that would be lost forever. I've always told people that are in depression that you only live once. You will be dead for ever ...un less you find God. Were only here for a short time. I didn't believe in PTSD or depression until I got back from nearly 7 years in Afghanistan (Contracting after the Marine Corps) and noticed the changes in myself. @@SaintMesus I've kept that fake smile on essentially my whole life, and have always been the person that helps everyone else even at the expense of myself. After losing my father to suicide, and then my home to a fire a few months later- I broke and turned to drugs to keep me numb to the hell I was facing within myself. But I made it out to the other side, found strength I didn't know I had, and most importantly- found my voice. Finally I was able to stand up for myself and those around me, not let my helpful nature be taken advantage of anymore, and win that war within myself. Now I do my best to live my best life, and help others do the same. Freepresion touched my soul, it validated the feelings I'd felt in the darkest times. In a way that reinforces acceptance- you broke down that wall, that stigma, that voice that tells us we can't admit to feeling that way, that we're somehow weak if we do, that no one could understand and we just must be alone. This should be.... Everywhere! This is the most powerful message I've ever heard, and will absolutely save lives. Thank you for using your gift to break down those walls, and to inspire positivity and acceptance. Simply amazing.
