Today i cook a Jackfruit curry in the Trangia 2.5lt Billy Can. I have come out to Rickmansworth Aquadome. There are multiple lakes and a canal here. The carpark is free and is quite big. I will come back to explore more in the future.

Another great video, Paul. I loved the use of jackfruit, which for me in Nova Scotia, is one of the more exotic fruits. I need to spend more time rooting around local Asian markets.

    A nice looking Billy / Trangia 27 Combo .. with a tasty-looking Veg Curry to boot 😊.
I've similarly scaled up my Trangia 28 Mini with a one litre Decathlon Quechua SS Pot. Another addition, the two largest bowls from a 70's-era 'Evernew Camping Bowl Set' and the Lid. The Bowls with Burner etc, nest nicely inside the Quechua Pot and the Pot in the Camping Bowl Set Lid .. all inside a 70's 'Sea King' Ditty Bag. Should I really feel decedent, all of the fore-mentioned nested inside a GSI 18cm SS Bowl gives me a cook set that enables me to rustle up just about anything .. and still pretty compact. I take / items therein to suit the planned activity.
Some to try sometime. To really bring out the flavour of a curry, cool-fry the curry powder in the oil beforehand. Add some water / wine / coconut water / whatever, stir and set aside. Cook up the other ingredients and then add the fore-mentioned. Allow everyone to introduce themselves and get well-aquainted. Yummy 😊. The wine and driving, not a problem. The alcohol therein evaporates off during cooking.
Thanks for sharing .. take care ..

It was the first time that I heard about this fruit here in this video so I discovered something new once more thanks to you! It's always a huge pleasure to watch you cooking on this amazing Trangia cook set.
Now I've got a suggestion: could you please tell us in your coming videos how much fuel/alcohol did you use during a cook session? At least how many times did you fill the burner to complete your meal. I think it would be fretty useful for many of us to have an image of how much fuel is needed for meals like you cook.
Thank you for this amazing video! Love you, Paul!
Later edit: your curry contains Garam Masala and what? I turned on the subtitles and it gave me ”mildred grass”. Is that correct? And what's that?

    Hiya paul.
Another great video. I love the trangia cook systems, Iv'e had a 27 NS with a kettle for years, However I don't use it anymore due to the health risks associated with aluminium and nonstick. Hard Anodised and Stainless are safe and HA is NS but, unfortunately, Trangia don't make a kettle in either. I would buy the HA pots and frypan but it would be a bit pointless without the kettle.

I have no idea why, but Trangia no longer ships the billy pots to the US. I was lucky enough to order the non-stick 2.5 liter billy pot from them before they stopped shipping to the US. It's a great addition to the 27 cooker. Especially if you have the gas burner for long slow simmering.

I’m experimenting with different cooking styles and stoves, just bought the solo stove lite and trangia.
The thing with twig burners is that it’s hard to control the flame for cooking ‘heavier’ meals like curries.

Hi Andy, I use normal meths. You can mix it with 10% water to keep the soot down. I don't do that in winter as it's harder to get going. Tbh i don't mix it in the summer. I prefer gas in the winter.
