I'm glad Apogee is making content to keep kids interested in model rockets.

NOT JUST KIDS! This old fart got into model rockets way back when the Earth was still cooling and I'm still into them today!

Thank you for showing us how to PROPERLY do an instructional video! NO MUSIC to destroy it! I always prefer to SEE, HEAR and FEEL the video and not some horribly over-laid music.
Thank you for your video. I've purchased many kits from you over the years and now I want to start getting into mid and eventually high power rockets. For now I'm on the hunt to make my own motors. I was hoping to find someone who sells the convolute tubes in 18mm OD, 24mm OD and larger, but so far no luck. I've made motor tubes myself years ago with your exact technique, but it would be a lot easier if I could find them pro-made and just cookie them to length. It would save on the kitchen table mess (and the Wife's wrath...lol)

Tim you are a genius when it comes to rockets and especially the use of the tools tou employ as well. I have made my own tubes before just using dowel rod and never knew the strip method. as far as paper I used masking paper found at menards, home Depot, ect. Never thought about the wax paper. Great video Chief!

Thanks. I learned the wax paper trick from Jay Marsh. So hat tip to him.

well shoot, you just set a new benchmark for the term, "scratch built" you ship and pack your for sale items in good heavy paper, this is another use for it besides masking off for painting. thanks TVM

I assume you could do this with a paper tube body that is coupled together to make it a bit stronger. 🧐
