Pretty sure he’s 75 years old just looks really young 😂😂
Haha, but he can't play that much yet in the NBA, isn't a point guard, more of a SG, and may fall drastically in the draft.
He's NOT the 2nd coming of Luka by any means nor is he Hezonja 2.0. He's the 1st Deni Avdija and it's up to him, luck and his work ethic to carve out his legacy in the NBA.
@Izzar Davis That's a plus for him, but some guys can never utilize their athleticism and full skill set (in games) and tend to fade away. Deni can get his head to the rim at his max leap, but athleticism is only one part of basketball. He'll have to really show his value with his skills to thrive and hopefully he improves on his percentages as well.
Avdija is a true winner. He led the Israeli youth (until 20) to back to back championships with power houses like Spain, Germany, Serbia, Russia and France with payers 2-3 older than him and was named MVP. He was the MVP of Israeli league last year and MVP in basketball without boarders. He is hard working, can be a leader but has no ego issues. He will be an amazing NBA player.

He’s also got effort. He really tries hard to play D and push the ball out there. He’s got tons of potential, to me it just seems like he’s not been trained as well growing up in Israel like you see in players from Spain, Lithuania, Greece, etc.
Once he gets some training from NBA coaches and works on his footwork and shooting mechanics he could be a great player with that effort he displays out there.

A point forward maybe
Deni can and have played 1-4. in the NBA I think he would fit better at 3, but can play 4 as well.
the really good thing about him is his versitality. you can have him in different opsitions on Offense/defense without losing anything.
1:35 shooting from your chest is okay Duncan Robinson shoots like that and he's a 44 percent 3 point shooter go look at his highlights. it givers you a quicker release all he has to do is master it and hell be fine.
Duncan shoots thaf way when he has no time. If hes wide open he dips
He's extremely talented and I really hope the team that drafts him will be smart enough to let him be their primary ball handler. It will take him some time to reduce the turn overs, but his vision, size and speed can make him a lethal weapon as a oversized point guard. The turn over handling you have shown on the vid was basically because lack of experience in that role (usually his team run him as a secondary ball handler), but every time he runs the offense you see how much skilled he's for a player his size. I think he's the most talented player in this draft alongside Edwards.
He's got a decent looking stroke I think that with some changes he can become a consistent shooter in the league
All signs indicate that his jump shot does not have much ceiling--Very poor FT% predominantly along with poor footwork and balance. He can always improve, but most players with his issues don't make big enough strides open up their range.

What kind of research have you done to reach that conclusion? Lebron James averages 27.1 points per game in his NBA career, meanwhile, he averages only 11.4 points per game in international tournaments against "Euroleague players", so by your logic, it means he's a role player and the world championship tournament is stronger than the NBA?

He'd be a perfect in a secondary ball handler like role, such as a Hedo Turkoglu lite. Secondary ball handler with the starters, primary ballhandler with the bench mob.
He's going to have hella turnovers once he gets to the league. But the last primary ballhandler who wasn't a turnover machine thier first couple of seasons is CP3. And that was almost a decade and a half ago.
Dc has hard working players with high potential... bright future ahead DC
Perfect fit for the Warriors
He reminds me a lot of Jeremy Lin. People thinks he got at least capable handles but really he can't dribble left, can't go left, and while he does make some amazing passes, he also have a lot of turnovers. Players guarding him will just have to ball pressure him forcing him to go left and he'll just turn the ball over or go head full of steam into the Big guarding the basket and getting blocked or a turnover. This also combines with the fact that he can't shoot threes off the catch.
Great video on Deni Avdija, he will be representing Israel and Serbia well i wish, i hope he takes some of the advice from this video to step up his game, you should do a video like this on Aleksej Pokuševski hes a 18 year old 7 foot point forward from Serbia
People have compared him to Luka because both are big wings who are versatile and have court vision that could develop into primary/secondary playmakers (a potential that Luka has already reached and may continue to improve in)
I could see Deni Advija developing into something more like a slightly smaller Danilo Gallinari or a more athletic Hedo Turkoglu instead.
I really like his shot form, if he can iron a few things out he could be a sniper with his fundamental basics.
He gonna be allstar in 3-4 years... I hope he goes to an eastern team, cuz in the west there are already many good young players

Deni is not as great as Luka on shot creating and shooting but Deni is more athletic and more well rounded. He will be a good point forward ( not on Luka's level) and defender .
You can't expect every 19 years old kid to be Doncic, Luka had an uncommon maturity and focus for his age on top of his natural basketball talent. Deni looks like a good prospect that could turn to something or not. Depends on him and the organization. Is this what the draft is all about, right?
I think your videos are spot on 99% of the time coach, but i also think you were a little misleading in this one ... he was never touted as a guard especially not a point guard and to add a little bit of context - he's playing in one of the best teams in europe so at 18 unless you're a luka-like prodigy, you'll never get enough minutes to fully prove yourself. he also won the FIBA U20 european championship MVP and i thought he was the best player by far in that tournament which shows his skill level compared to his age group. also, he's he's only 19, i bet he'll deliever in the NBA.

Thank you Coach Nick for the info I am enlightened about Deni Avidija's report
I want deni to the hawks that would be nice
Me too. I am not a fan of having Okoro on the Hawks tho. It's either Wiseman or Avdija for me...Edwards would be a decent fit too, but we already know there's no chance of that happening.
His shot would be ssuper easy to fix.
I'd bet one of his fave players is Klay.
There's little historical evidence suggesting that it's easy to fix a player shot when they aren't even a good FT shooter . Deni's a 56% FT shooter last year, and 60% overall. FT shooting isn't perfect, but it usually tells the story of who at least has a shot at becoming a decent shooter. Good Ft shooters are rarely bad shooters, but bad FT shooters are almost never good shooters.
Clay Thompson on many occasions does not dip the ball down. I agree with you, and know Deni is not Clay, but I am just saying it is possible to shoot really good without dipping down
Deni needs cleans up his offensive deficiency and become a more of a defensive player in order to stay on the roster, the Wizards need better players on the defensive side for real and if he can develop into a 3 and D player, then he can stay. Plus he gets to learn shooting from two of the best in the game: Bertans and Beal.
Excellent breakdown as always!
damn he went hard alot of potential
I’ve never noticed that ‘catching the ball, not bringing it down, shooting’ motion. That’s interesting.
He's definetely not a PG. Maybe a SG but I see him more as a point forward a la Bogdanovic. I think he is very similar to Hezonja, if he reaches his potential he can be what they hoped for Mario because I remember he was pretty good at Barcelona at a young age and got selected pretty high in the draft in his time but then never developed
Sooo he's more like Dragan Bender than Luka Doncic
@Elliott Gold Tatum is great defensively and has size.
@Elliott Gold I really hope you're right.I'm rooting for him.
Could you please augment your analysis of prospective NBA Draft lottery picks and potential superstars? Add Anthony Edwards and James Wiseman. Patrick Williams from Florida State University is also someone who is flying up the draft boards of NBA teams. A lot of analysts are looking at him as another incarnation of Giannis Antetekoumpo in terms of his potential NBA playing career development arc. He may be picked later on in the first round of the NBA Draft. But how can you possibly pass up on the opportunity to analyze a potentially next great development project after one with similar potential has recently been awarded the last 2 MVPs?
Great Video like always. You should coach these players, they can learn some things or two.
After watching Deni for a couple of years now, I would say he reminds me of Danilo Galinari movement wise
The only thing is his best skill is his passing instead of Danilo's shooting
It's just preseason but:
10.3 pts on 64% TS% (5/11 3P, 7/11 2P, 2/5 - FT), 6.3 reb, 2.3 ast (1.7 tov), 1.7 stl per game, and very good defense.
He's certainly one of fastest 6'8'+ players in open court in NBA, he's quick enough to beat many wings and almost any big off-dribble, he's making right decisions on both ends, and he's very good finisher at the rim.
While the coach seems to be still not 100% sure to start 19 year old rookie, it seems to be quite clear that both Beal and Westbrook support this direction...
Once again preseason still doesn't prove anything... but I think this vid describes Deni all wrong
Let's just hope the Knicks don't take him or he won't get the time needed to develop
luka was the euroleague mvp. deni was the 9th-12th guy in the rotation
Deni was a starter on a top 5 Euroleague team. I honestly think he might be going too high in most mock drafts.
