Brilliant!
I loVe creative minds for creative problem solving or simplifying ease of use.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge. 🙏
Thanks for watching😊
Freaking genius. Seriously.
ALL of these ideas are GREAT!!
Love it
This is the only sewing "hacks" video that I have ever seen that actually has unique ideas, not simply rehashing what most accomplished sewists have been utilizing for years! Thank you!
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely brilliant ideas! I even took notes the fourth time I watched it (which was still as interesting as the first time), and have saved the link to watch again. And again. Love your presentation - so smooth and calming.
Some who watch these hacks are brand new sewers. I watch them because I like to learn new things...
thanks so much!
Absolutely agree!
I've been sewing for almost 60 years. I wish I had your hacks years ago. These are great ideas and I thank you sincerely. 😊
The hacks were around, but we had no way of sharing them back in those days
Thanks for watching😊
Yes so lucky to have the technology now😊
I can't even imagine the things you can make! ❤
😊I’ve made a lot of stuff over the years….. Thanks for watching!
The sheet metal under the cutting mat is brilliant!!!
Agreed! ❤ So is the hem marking hack!❤😁
Right?!!
Omg, head blown! So many great tips n tricks. Amazing! Thank you soooooo much.
Agreed
Truly one of the best videos on sewing hacks I have ever seen.
thanks so much😊🙏
Отличные лайф хаки спасибо!
This video is worth its weight in gold...if one can weigh it 😄😄
Just superb. Thanks so much. As a mom of three littles, I could use every minute saved!
Glad it was helpful!
I ADORE these genious ideas! And I am not joking, the tall spool holder hack with the mug, ruler and bulldog clip is JUST what I need. Thank you so much!
Great to hear! Thanks for watching😊
Your hacks are genius! So handy. The mounting tape, Teflon , and chop sticks are things are things I already had around the house! Thank you 🙏!
Great!! Thanks for watching!😊
The zipper jig is Genius!Thx! Actually all your tips are😉
Brilliant!!! I'm in my 70's and probably started serious sewing when I was in high school. I so appreciate that technology allows the easy sharing of great ideas and in a mere 12 minute video I learned all sorts of things I will be able to apply to my sewing routine. Thanks so much!
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching and please share😊
terrific. So often 'hack' vids are just silly, but these are all great. Thanks
thank you!!😊
Stapling the faux leather seams before you stitch is perfect! I was assembling a 3 piece banner that required precise matching in 5 places along the seam. This is the first time that I didn't have to rip out all or part of the seam. Thank you so much!
So glad it was helpful😊
Thank you Angela! These are brilliant! I’ve been using the towel holder jig for a couple of years and it’s a game changer. Another trick I use - I attach my filled bobbins to their matching threads with a golf tee.
Great tip thanks!😊🙏
Leslie… can you put a pic on here of the bobbin and threat I can’t visualise it. Maybe I’m too tired I can quite see how the golf t would stay in place
@@thnkonthis there isn’t a mechanism to post photos here, sorry!
I do the same. Poke the golf tee through your bobbin, then drop it down into the top of the thread cone. The bobbin rests on top because the tee is wide enough to keep from slipping through and long enough to hold them on top of each other. I never have to search for the matching color bobbin. Get the longest tees and stack a couple bobbins because who wants to run out?!
Oh. My. Goodness! 😊 I have NEVER seen a better sewing hacks video! I sat watching this entire video with my mouth hanging open 😮 and thinking, 'I need to watch it again and again to write down everything that I need to buy!'
I have always loved your videos ❤, and this one has succeeded in amazing me! Thank youuuu! ☺️
Wow, thank you!
Me too! My thoughts exactly.
Thank you😊
I did the same thing!! Mouth open! Love this video.
Thank you🥰
I love that the video is filled with so much information and no neverending blablabla. This is why I don't like the most sewing videos on YT. It takes "hours" and really much boring *blablabla* until it comes to a little bit informations.
But you don't ❤ Your video is pure tips.
By th way this is very ADHS/Autism friendly❤️
Thank you so much for watching😀
76 years old and I've seen and will use most all of these hacks, Thank You.
Thanks for wstching😊
Fantastic ideas I am 78 and wish you had been around when I started sewing at 9 still better late than never. Thank you so much for such great ideas I will use quite a few of them xx
Great! Thanks so much for watching😊🙏
As usual, we are so blessed by your gift of cleverness and clarity in teaching!
Aww thank you. That's so nice of you.
The slap bracelet is a great idea!
I’ve watched several people’s videos on sewing hacks. None of the others had as many good ideas as yours! I have been sewing for 67 years, and today I learned several things that I look forward to implementing, thank you for taking the time to share your creativity! We appreciate it!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for watching. I will share more in the future.😊
The BEST hacks EVER!!!! The plastic tubes for the bobins, was one of my favorites
thank you!
These are great. Now I need to come up with some projects so I can use them! Sheet metal under the cutting mat, different rulers to turn back the seam allowance and trim batting, mounting tape on BOTH sides as a seam guide, stair rail as a round presser and doubling as a clapper, thin cheap cutting boards as pattern templates. SO many useful tips in 12 minutes. Great editing quickly showing how. New Subscriber.
thank you! Have fun shopping😊
Love the use of magnet to hold down patterns instead of pinning (and spoiling) them ❤
Hope you try it. You’ll love it! Thanks for watching😊
These are great tips. I am 78 and have been sewing since I was five. Certainly wish I had known these wonderful tips many years ago when I made suits and really nice items. Now I sew just for fun and not to perfection.
Thanks for watching😀
For me the best hack was cutting a clear pipe and using as a bobbin holder❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you for this GREAT idea👌👌👌
Thanks for watching😊
1. use transparent duck tape to use as a handle on rulers by gluing it and making glue to itself as a handle. (like the omega sign)
2. Hem on white cloth - I use cinnamon powder.
Oh I love that tape trick! Does the cinnamon powder stain at all?
after sewing it brush away.

Omg THANK YOU for simply going through the list and not spending as much time on each as so many other you tubers do!
You're so welcome! I’ll share more soon😊
Because most people who sew are probably pretty creative, this may not be a new idea, but it might give someone the nerve to deface a solid wood dining room table. When my mother passed away, none of my siblings wanted her dining room table and chairs. It's the maple everyone had in the 60s and 70s. I already had a beautiful antique dining table but I didn't want to get rid of my mother's, so I turned it into my sewing table. It is round with two leaves that make it into a huge oval. After a moment of asking my mother's forgiveness, I drew a huge grid on it and then used a wood burning tool with a very fine tip to make it permanent. That gives me a workspace of 6ft x 4ft. I do a ton of crafting as well, so it gets a lot of use. I'm blessed to have a dedicated room for all my mess, so having to move this massive heavy maple table isn't necessary unless I need that room as a guest bedroom. I think my mother would approve considering how much use it gets.
Thanks for sharing your story. It think your mother would be very happy knowing how useful you've made it! Did you have to raise the legs at all? I use bookcases all around as the bases for my cutting table as I like my surface to be high.
@NotchesSewing no, it's the perfect height. I'm only 4 foot 11 inches. But, sometimes I need to be raised up.🤣😁
Oh my gosh, where have you been! What wonderful ideas. I surely will be using all your ideas. Thanks so much for sharing!❤❤❤❤
As usual your instructions and presentation are the best I have seen. Can’t thank you enough.
I'm dumbfounded by all of these very practical tips. You are a genius! Thanks a lot!
Happy to hear that!
Agreed
This is 1 of the best sewing hack videos I've ever seen. I don't sew that much anymore, but you make me want to go buy every last thing on this video just to see how convenient they are.
LOL Thank you! You probably have half these items.. Thanks for watching😊
Thank you for your wonderful video. Your ideas are amazing!
I use empty Dental Floss containers to make a travel sewing kit. They're great for storing a bobbin (wound with thread, along with pins and needles. Plus the dental floss cutter is great for cutting the thread too.
Great tip! Tell me your first name so I can credit you when I share this tip😊
These are so brilliant, I am definitely saving this video!
I added extra elastic to my wrist pincushion so it would fit around my sewing machine ~ very handy to stick your pins in while sewing.
Wonderful!
You have perhaps the BEST and most inclusive "sewing hacks" video I've ever seen.
Thanks so much! I’ll share more in the future.😊
I totally agree!😊
I showed this to my husband, he quilts with me. Never too old to learn a new trick, or two. Wonderful video with things we have in the house. Thank you for thinking out of the box and sharing.
nice to hear you quilt together. Thanks for watching🙂
Love these tips, at last things we have already no matter where you live, not just American only stores. Thank you 😊
You are so welcome! Thanks for watching!! Where are you watching from?
@@NotchesSewing England
@irenebaxendale8367 Hello from Australia
Genius, pure and simple! THANK YOU sooooooo much!!!!🌹🌹🌹
Thank you!
Cleqned up metal spanners/ wrenches from my husband's work benches are super pattern weights😊
Fantastic idea!
GREAT ideas !! Here's another one... "Glad"PressNSeal to remove lint or pet hair - lay garmet flat, tear off an 18 inch sheet and lay the "sticky" side on the fabric and smooth over it with your hand.😊
Just bought 3 rolls of that stuff. I love it for everything. Love that it’s waterproof too. Thanks for tip😊
Painters tape makes a good guide ledge, spoon handles & crochet hooks are great for turning.
thank you! I also use painters tape on the machine itself when sewing vinyl so it doesn’t stick .
Brilliant ideas!
I liked the slap bands to hold paper rolls and the metal sheet - but I have to watch again- too many great tips to remember
thanks for watching.😊
The bobbin holder using clear tubing , BRILLIANT ❤🙂🇨🇦
Thanks for watching😊
Thank You for the tips, yes fierce kitten is wonderful to watch i have watched all her vids. I have made some jean purses i like them i think they are cute. Have a nice Day. ❤😊
These are very helpful. Thank you I especially like the thread holder, so simple. They are expensive to buy
Wow ! Great hacks, presented In a quick and concise way without a lot of unnecessary chatter, thank you so much !
Glad you enjoyed!
Hint for drilling holes in plastic. Use a “step bit”. Will not crack the plastic and has multiple sizes in one bit.
Or a wood burner or soldiering (?sp) iron
Thank you for sharing these,I have been useing sewing machines for close to sixty years and have never learnt so many new tricks in one video before.some of these are brilliant.
You are so welcome! Will share more in the future😊
Without a doubt THE BEST HACKS & IDEAS I’ve ever seen! All are so helpful, clever, useful. Need to watch over and over! Thank you so much.
Wow, thank you! Will share more soon😊
I am blown away by these hacks! Wish I'd known them far sooner- would save me hours! LOVE the sheet metal and magnet trick- that's incredible!
Thanks for watching. Will share more in the future. Cheers😊
You have one of the best sewing channels I've seen. Even though you are a professional, it's wonderful you understand us self taught or newbie sewers. Very inspirational 💐
Wow, thank you! Please share whenever you can. It really helps to support my channel🙏
Some truly fantastic ideas! The metal sheet under the cutting mat 😮
Thanks so much! 😊
Omg, this is the best sewing video I’ve seen in ages.
Aww. thanks so much🙏
These are genius! Thank you for making sewing easier and less expensive.
Glad you like them!
WHO thinks of these ideas!? My dull empty brain never comes up with original ideas, and I NEVER remember any, even the best. These were ALL great! Thank you!
Thank you. I am always looking at items and thinking " how can I use this for sewing?"
You’re not alone in forgetting even the best hacks! Now I save the video and do a quick swipe through them when I am in my sewing room, just in case I see one that will be helpful. 😄
Thanks for these tips! As a new sewer, they were very helpful! One of my favorite tips using household items is using a boba straw and a chopstick as a tube turner, it works so well! :)
The good ole boba straw! I love it. Please have a look at my video to make very skinny straps.
Such a nice and kind and good idea to share these tips❤ I began sewing with no money and my main aim is to use what i already have, however, i still need to buy some threads etc. With your help, i won't be in need of more. Thanks again, appreciated.
Thanks for watching😊
I use a medical scalpel as a seam ripper. They are VERY sharp so be cautious but the thin curved blade cuts thread with little effort and it has a nice handle.
For bobbin storage those little foam separators for painting your toenails hold your bobbins nicely.
I have those too!😊. But I am so used to using the safety blades.
This is the first time I've seen SUCH useful and practical hacks AND I can't believe there are so many in one video! Genuinely exceptional work
Wow, thank you!
Wow wow wow!!!
Honestly, you make the best sewing videos. I get so excited when you post. Your are the best!
Wow, thank you!
Excellent presentation. Just the facts and no chitchat. Great ideas
Glad you enjoyed it!
WOW Thank you. Excellent tips!
Thank you
Absolutely brilliant
A fork and a comb! !!!! Hahahaha! Awesome. I’m so enjoying this!
Glad you enjoyed it
Things that I can actually use forever! Just brilliant!!!
Thanks for watching!!😊
You are a wonderful teacher. I’m a newbie sewer & I really appreciate all of your fantastic tricks, timesavers & hacks. Love your voice…very relaxed & mellifluous. Thanks! Laine Murphy, lovely Montclair, New Jersey.
Hi Laine from Down Under! Thanks so much for your kind words and for taking the time to watch and comment🙂
Love your hints. I am going to get the metal sheet to go under my cutting mat and magnets to hold my pattern down.
OMG! Where have you been all my life! Such great ideas! Thanks! 🎉🎉🎉
Glad you found me. Thanks for watching!😊
1:46 ok this one is absolutely totally and completely GENIUS!!!
thank you!
My best hack = I use cheap $1 store yellow sponges with the green scrubber to clean my cutting board. The straight edge is great for running along side the ruler when you have to trim off a little fabric or threads ❤
Thanks for sharing😊
I'm definitely doing chair rail/seam presser/clapper hack. And the oven mat/Teflon sheet too!
Oh my goodness, these are the most amazing sewing tips I’ve ever seen! ♥️
Glad you like them!
Thank you need to have this running all the time
Glad to help
Substantial, ingenious & epic!!
Brilliant hacks,each and every one
Wow! Fabulous ideas. I so much admire your creative mind that is able to break free from the intended uses of tools and supplies and give them use in the sewing arena. You’ve inspired me to view objects for their unlimited and unique potential.
I can only add one simple thought: I don’t bother with a thread stand nor a mug. I just stand it directly behind the machine and use an empty bobbin on the thread pin as the first guide.
Great tip!
I use (inexpensive) plastic acquarium tubing instead of cotton cording for corded piping. It has held up much better and looks smoother.
Thank you.
You're welcome!
BRILLIANT!!!
Thank you😊
Smart ideas
Genius, pure genius! ⭐
Thanks for watching!
The ABSOLUTE BEST TIPS!
Glad you think so!
Wow thank you so much for your wonderful tips, the cost saving is awesome saves paying premium prices which is attached to 'sewing' 'soft crafts' or 'quilting' gadgets. 😊
Yes you can work with what you have. I only owned 3 different rulers up til about 5 yrs ago so I was able to have career with very few “special” tools
You. Are. A. Genius! Thanks so much for sharing!
You are so welcome!
Wow I learned something new !!
❤❤❤ QUE PALABRAS TAN HERMOSAS.
Thank you!😊
Your tips are so clever , Thankyou so much
Absolutely great hacks. Great to know. Thanks Angela.
Thanks so much for watching😊

Great tips, thanks!
Eek! Where was that hem marking trick when I was shortening my daughter’s “mother of the groom” dress. Thanks for these wonderful, useful tricks.
You are so welcome! Will share more in the future.😊

Thanks Cathy😊
