Het Stiftmuziekfestival, slot.

Showers were pouring down when I left Uelsen to visit the last concert of the Stiftfestival. It was to be outside, behind the little Stiftchurch on the grass. When I arrived there the sun had broken through again, but not uninterrupted.
It was amazingly easy to find a parking place and when I got to the party tent behind the church I got to know why....The concert was, at the very last minute, moved to the Remigiuschurch at Weerselo. This was decided at 11.30 and the concert started at 15.00 hours. Luckily the church heartily cooperated and it was filled completely, it had not seen that kind of crowd since the lecture of Pieter Omtzigt, a dutch politician known for his sincerity and sense of justice. Not a concerthall the music sounded great sand the people responded to the passion of the young musicians. The Stift music festival is under the artistic leadership of Daniel Rowland who is also known for his ten year membership of the Brodsky Quartet. After the concert we still could go to the ''Stift'' to drink some wine with other music lovers. It was the 19th. Stiftfestival and more visitors than ever (5100) came to the concerts that were given between the 19th and 27th of August
