I’m was actually glad Dipper and Wendy shared that moment at the end of episode 2, about whole thing with Dipper being in love with her. Tbh, that was something I didn’t care about in this show. So, I’m glad that the writers had put it to rest.
Yo, that crazy nightmarish form the shapeshifter took of combined Dipper and Mabel made me realize, you guys have gotta check out John Carpenter's 'The Thing' from 1982. One of the absolute best horror movies of all time, full stop.
the reveal of the mysterious Portal, Grunkle Stan is definitely doing something. Season 2 really pushes beyond the limits. Especially as we start to see about the mystery of the Author's disappearance. A future disaster he was preparing for of a certain evil.
The intro doesn’t REALLY change until episode 17 or so. Just give it a few seconds and see if something changes, and you’ll be good. Soos as a zombie is the best zombie I’ve ever seen. Mark Hamill as the Shapeshifter is such a welcome surprise. And the Shapeshifter is an amazing monster too.
Guys, I cannot tell you how excited I am for you to watch this season. No matter how much you liked season 1, everything is about to get dialed up to 11. The mysteries, the stakes, the emotion... all just cranked as high as possible.
That episode 1 of season 2 reminds me of regular show season 2 episode 19 where Rigby accidentally put the VHS backwards to forward so the yellow electricity flooded the graveyard and the undead has awoken.
There was a real-life Special Edition Journal 3 where the journal DID glow in the dark. There were 10,000 printed up with special numbering for each journal. The first 100 were fully signed by Hirch himself, with the next bunch initialed with his initials. I should know i have one of the special jounals myself. 😊
No idea how young these boys are, but as newer generations keep coming along nowadays - they might not know even who any of those characters are, they might only know Ray and might not even know of the existence of the original 3 star wars, just like how kids today probably won't know Peter, Ray, Winston, and Egon as the ghost busters - they just know Paul Rudd as the new Ghost Buster and relegate the old ghost busters as "Boomer Movies", or how "Peter Griffin is that guy from Fortnite"
Fun fact about this episode of gravity falls the Shapeshifter that was imposing as the author of the book is actually voice by none other than Mark Hamill!!!
Pretty sure what people mean by the intro changing. Is that they're saying that the whisper at the end of the intro tends to change sometimes yet not always & to know what is being said reverse it.
This is the Season where things get dark, scary and story-driven heavy considering that after Grunkle Stan collected all 3 books and attempted to opened the portal this caused the attention of the FBI agents (one of them voiced by Nick Offerman) to visit Gravity Falls and the appearances of the Zombies coming out of the ground. Also I'm impressed that whomever (Alex Hirsch or the Voice/Casting Director of Gravity Falls) brought in Nick Offerman from _Park's and Recreation_ to Gravity Falls along with the other celebrities the previous Season (e.g. John Oliver, Larry King, Coolio, Alfred Molina, etc.) deserves a big pat on the back, literally I can’t think of ANY Disney animated series that brought in a huge A-lister as Nick Offerman.
Zombie Soos is one of the best zombies in fiction along with the likes of Stubbs the Zombie. Wish they kept him longer like that for the tourists. Yeah, things are gonna get crazier in season 2. It's hilarious that something like zombie invasion is nothing unusual in this town Too bad Dipper didn't grab some of these Stan's magazines for "investigation", he could've had a good way to relax after solving mysteries and trying to find the author of the journals. Shapeshifter is probably the second smartest villian in the show after Bill Cipher. And he allowed the show to give us some form of blood. Good thing he's permanently frozen. I understand Alex Hirsh message about first crush which will never resolve to anything, but Dipper and Wendy are a good match, actually. A couple years into the future and can think about the possibility. But props for good writing Dipper took the truth maturely and Wendy understood and comforted him like every best friend should. I still consider it endgame, but their friend dynamic is just as good for the rest of the show.
Well, they got along perfectly with each other during the whole summer and it seems like Dipper was the best friend Wendy had more fun with than any of her other teen friends. It would've been a little off for them to become the thing during the show, but the age gap isn't that problematic and as soon as Dipper turns 18 he can easily ask Wendy to become a couple second time. P.S Glad the show will never return, so it's great to make own headcanon about what would happen next
@@ashesGeek I don't think everyone would've like definitely, but I would've thought it would be really cute if they got together I like them. Not even a huge shipper I just like the pair. It's not like she hates him or anything though so I'm not mad. And yeah the show was just long enough
@cocacolan1712 she wouldn't hate him at all, as she said herself she figured it out and how could she hate a guy who made her boring summer working in Mystery Shack much more exciting. Wendy just seems like a perfect type and person for Dipper compared to the likes of Candy(which was just forced conflict because of Mabel's manipulation when Dipper didn't need her help) and especially Pacifica since she hardly could've become more than just friends with him
@@ashesGeek Yeah I completely think they made the most sense together, they have good chemistry. Candy came out of nowhere and didn't amount to anything aside from one of the lesser episodes, and honestly I think the idea of Pacifica and dipper is really cute but they literally only have one episode together. It could've worked if the show went on longer or the idea was introduced earlier. But as it is wendy would've been the best if she didn't reject him. Still good friends though
If "Headhunters", "The Inconveniencing", "Summerween" and "Scary-Oke" weren't Gravity Falls scariest episodes, "Into the Bunker" took the series into another level considering that Dipper and the rest of the gang had to contend with the grotesque and dangerous Shape-shifter (a homage of The Thing) voiced by Mark Hamill (who previously was in one of the episodes of the first season as a Bike gang member) that attempted to escape, hence the reason why the Author of the books locked the creature in the Bunker because of how dangerous the creature was when it shape-shifts and takes the form of someone else once it reaches the town of Gravity Falls. On top of that, the episode also ties loose ends with Dipper's crush on Wendy to which she notices, but in the end Dipper had to learn to respect her wishes/decisions but still decide to remains friends. My favorite part in the episode was when Dipper had a hard time figuring out which one is the real Wendy and the shape-shifter (who took the form of Wendy), until he realizes that the real Wendy slides her fingers towards her mouth as a callback to the episode, "The Inconveniencing" when both Dipper and Wendy slide their fingers to zip their mouths to keep their secrets between them especially when the former didn't told Dipper's secret to her friends when he did the Lamby Lamb dance to the elderly ghost couple.
I love how Wendy really understands Dipper's feelings. He messed up his confession even though that she already knew and didn't make fun of hime or grossed out.
The reason they only did 2 seasons is cause the creator, Alex Hirsch, didn't want to drag the show for too long.
