    “But it’s natural sugar!”
If I had a Pound for every time I heard that…

Yes indeed.. fruit sugar (fructose) what could possibly go wrong?

Scary to think there's people out there who might drink them everyday under the assumption that they're healthy.

I have been drinking these for years, multiple full bottles every day because I found it cheaper and easier that getting whole fruit, had my blood sugar checked, perfectly fine. Maybe im just used to the fruit sugar as I've been vegan/fruitarian for years, I eat plenty of fiber too.

How do you know? Have you checked inflammation (hsCRP) or insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) or even worn a CGM? Lots of people think they are OK... until they aren't!

Personally I just eat the fruits or vegetables whole instead of drinking their juice. The only innocent drink I drink is the coconut water which has significantly less sugar than other smoothies

I agree eat your fruit DONT drink it ! But even then I’m cautious. Fruit has been genetically modified and bred to be ever larger , ever sweeter and with less and less fibre. Pick fruits lowest in fructose and even then don’t eat unlimited amounts

Sugar doesn't cause diabetes, fat does.

Interesting: Can you explain HOW fat causes diabetes?

Would this type of result be similar if you drank, for example, a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice?
Do the positive health benefits gained from the vitamins in the fruits, drank in moderation, not out way the negatives?

    • @ProLongevity

Your body can’t tell where the sugar comes from. Freshly squeezed sugar is still sugar. Plus by damaging the structural integrity of the fibre in the orange you lose most of the benefits anyway. It’s a bit like smoke filter tip cigarettes. Marginally better than roll ups but doesn’t make smoking healthy ! Actually there not much vitamin content in fruit either. That’s more of a marketing claim than anything. Bottom line. Eat your fruit. Don’t drink it. And limit the quantity.

Thank you for showing us this. That was only half a bottle of smoothie, which was a small portion. What would of happened with a full bottle?
