Jess is joined by legendary Village Voice gossip columnist Michael Musto! Musto discusses the origin of outing, psychology of blind items, how an unknown Madonna prevented him from sound-checking with his band in 1982, Gaga's Oscar campaign for House of Gucci and the trouble he got into after Andy Warhol's funeral. He also dishes on Malcolm Forbes, camp John Waters, Fran Lebowitz, getting banned from Twitter and the annoying parts of being a conduit to people becoming fabulous.
such a good interviewer......wow musto is a survivor.
This was fun. Loved the Fran Leibovitz/Toni Morrison speculation. They didn’t seem like obvious friends, makes more sense if it was romantic. Also, Michael told the Madonna soundcheck story way back in 1990 on BBC’s Omnibus on Madonna. It’s on RUclips and worth a watch
Thank u!
I don't know if he is following me or not but every time I have gone to Veselka in the East Village, I see Michael Musto! I can't decide if he is a journalistic hero or just a Pre-TMZ salacious tattle tale reporter.
hahaha
love veselka's !!!!
Cool guy and all but just because he is gay doesn't give him any right to out anyone without their consent. He made it sound like he was doing them a favor but is actually a despicable thing to do.
Exactly. It's rude and tacky.
On the subject of Sean and Madonna, someone recently uploaded an E! documentary about them from the late 90s. No big revelations although I was sort of surprised that it didn't even mention the abuse allegations.
Sorry but this guy has no right 100% to out or make accusations about someone sexuality
Agree 100% - he's so arrogant to try to justify having outed people.
Oh please. Lady Gaga is not a good actress at all. Unfortunately Madonna worked with bad directors -with a few exceptions-. She was great in Susan, A League of Their Own, Snake Eyes (which nobody saw, but every critics agreed she was great in it), Dick Tracy. I even liked her in Who's That Girl. And of course EVITA.
Musto is so legendary and Brilliant ❤
❤
Except for outing people. Not cool, never was and never will be.
