      @jalazel6447 you clearly don't much about hip hop. Everyone you mentioned is still alive and all of them will tell you who the GOAT is and how he's impacted the genre.
      You just sound both too young and ignorant to understand and too uneducated to realize how you are being racist.
      Btw I'm a half breed. No bias, just facts and been listening to rap since the 80s.

    • @PhilRewa
      @PhilRewa Год назад +3

      @jalazel6447 btw Jay and Kanye sell out black people constantly.
      And yes there sounds are known and very repetitive and nothing original for decades.
      Tbh both of them are both over produced and mostly just copy music from other generations so we can't say they are really that original.
      Now Outkast, Wayne and Cole are all the real deal. Original and amazing and have also elevated the genre.
      Eminem is a student of dre from Outkast and gives him major props.
      Cole is a student of Em and gives him major Credit.
      Wayne and Em are like peers and love each other.
      Wayne is the closest thing to Eminem skill wise.
      Most impact on the genre throughout the world and the art itself is Eminem without a doubt.
      Most impact on minorities and culture as a people is definitely not Eminem. Not even Tupac. Honestly that's a tough one. Probably someone more positive like Cole or KRS.
      Eminem's weakest area that is a major factor to hip hop is discussing cultural issues and changing the way we see the world and conduct ourselves as a culture. Yet most rappers don't do that. Black or white.
      It doesn't mean they aren't a part of it. All the other people you mentioned speak on cultural issues.
      Btw don't forget NAS. He was better than Kanye or Jay and was very uplifting but real like the originators of the art.

      What else 50 cent said after that? Eminem does it better than everybody else and the problem people have with that is the fact that he's white. Ever since Eminem came into the picture Hip Hop became more than just black music. Now Hip hop is bigger than just black music. Plain and simple.

    • @KDashSix
      @KDashSix Год назад +18

      @@phoyouuu Eminem: “… I stole black music, yeah, true…” The Man even said it himself. Look, no one is saying other people can’t participate (rap, twerk, breakdance, etc.) but please name something that other ethnicities have created to add to the genre? Simple: the answer is *nothing.* It is and will always be intrinsically tied to African-Americans - even Em will be the FIRST to tell you that. Now, if Em hadn’t have pushed himself and attempted to do it better than everybody else (and he’s been bested on tracks before, his catalogue is FAR from flawless) he never would’ve made it. He will always get props for that… He’s easily one of the best stories in the game, period. No one can ever question his flow. But it’s kinda funny how suddenly some people say hip-hop isn’t black music anymore (like they did with Rock & Roll) but most of them are the same ones who didn’t even like it until Em came along… He’s probably Top 5 in terms of technique and certainly got a LOT more white people to listen to rap and buy his (mostly bad) albums but beyond that? Eh.

    • @phoyouuu
      @phoyouuu Год назад +21

      @@KDashSix Hio hop is bigger than black music period. Every country has their own versions of hip hop and rap music. There’s other races that listen to hip hop now. It isn’t just black music it’s bigger now. The genre has expanded overtime. No one is claiming hip hop isn’t black. We’re saying it’s now being more than black. I don’t see what’s so hard to understand other than the fact that you don’t want to understand. Basketball is a white mans sport yet overtime the NBA has 95% black players. Michael Jordon being the GOAT yet nobody bitches. Eminem gets called the goat and everybody bitches. Is the NBA basketball a white mans game ? Or is it bigger than just white people now that we have diversity in the sport?

    • @KDashSix
      @KDashSix Год назад +16

      @@phoyouuu That’s a terrible analogy because the object of any sport is to put points on the board and win the game. Every facet of hip-hop, aside from maybe DJing/record scratching, derives from Africa… So, is anime not Asian/Japanese culture because it has global fans? I mean, do you see black kids (or any other for that matter) Irish River dancing or wearing Cowboy hats and line dancing en masse? Sure, other countries have their own flavorings, etc. but again, what have they *created* to add to it? Hell, EMINEM would be the first to tell you it’s black music, but that doesn’t mean it gate-keeps anyone else… And the GOAT? Homie, Em is probably my favorite rapper, which is why I’m hyper critical of his music, but he’ll always be a rung below Jay-Z, Nas, Tupac, and Biggie in terms of prominence. And again, even he’d be the first to tell you that… But it’s kinda hard to have this discussion with people who have his face on all 4 spots on their Mount Rushmore.

You think Tech N9ne or lil wayne care what skin color Em is? No. They recognize his talent and respect him. It's so silly that we can no longer just say "man this person is talented" anymore.. regardless of genre it has to be "oh because of the color of their skin..." NO, these folks are talented. If I see someone who is skilled at playing guitar and they make major accomplishments I don't care what their skin color is, I will recognize and appreciate their talent and achievements. It's called having respect for people who make moves and an impact. Regardless of your race.. you should recognize the talent and impact. Its not like we should forget how it started or not pay homage like eminem does since the start i dont know of any artist that pays homage to the ones that came before them in their records than Eminem.

    I believe Hip Hop was created by blacks and gifted to the world, like many other genres including Country, Rock and Roll, Soul and Jazz. Hip Hop evolved into a culture with it’s unique style, sound, fashion and attitude. Even though it was always welcoming and open to anyone with love for it, we laid the foundation. Today we are still being deprived of credit for our creations and contributions even by our own. What a damn shame!!!

    Did Latinos help invent hip hop?
    Due to the heaviest Puerto Rican migration to New York City in the '50s, during the 70s, the birth of hip hop involved Latinos from the Caribbean islands. DJ Kool Herc was from Jamaica. Puerto Rico loved Hip Hop from America. Among the first rappers from the island were TNT, Brewley MC and Vico C.

    The host had it right. Em is not speaking to black people because he isn't black. Ems rise and greatness is down to 2 things. Making hip hop appealing to the white audience and secondly talent. Before Em White people had one or two that were laughed at. Em came out and spoke for an entire generation of white kids that felt just like black kids he broke down racial barriers and showed struggle is struggle white or black. That got him his following. His talent took him to the GOAT status.
