BBC News 24 90 Second Countdown 2000
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 16 окт 2024
- Continuity from the end of BBC One on 31st July 2000 at 2am. Including DynaMo and BBC News "Whenever you want it" adverts followed by a full play of the Bungee ident and BBC News 24's 90 second countdown.
The jump at the end of the countdown suggests that the countdown was played out by BBC One and they cut to News 24 exactly at 2am
I think your right. They do a similar when handing over to the news at the end of the day but instead of the countdown it's the generic BBC News ident.
You mean so that they give the impression of playing the full 90 second countdown which wasn’t likely aired on News 24 at that exact moment?
@@paololim3513 Yeah basically
Used to wait for these countdowns back when I was 8. Climax got me so excited. Was my favorite piece of music at the time ahah
I used to wait up for these handovers to BBC News 24 from BBC One hoping to see the full 90 second countdown, I think this may have been the very version I got recorded on VHS video 📼 in 2000, or maybe 1999. Sadly a lot of tapes got ripped up which I was annoyed about at the time. So it's good to find this version!
Oh, hey! It's one of the 30 second balloon idents!
Anyone else think the continuity announcer was going to say "A full 90 second countdown"?
God, all Tom had was the Internet.... I was 7 in 2000. My parents got the Internet in 1998 or 1999. Pretty crazy how its all changed and how long ago 2000 really was. I'm procrastinating in a Uni Library most people around me were not born yet...
Jack doesn’t want to go to Blackpool, love, he just wants to go to Tom’s house!
Yep
I watched this countdown on BBC America when I was 12... They showed this Nonstop
Presumably without BBC News 24 written underneath!
3:46 looked like BBC One also had the same set of jingles as 24.
I'm guessing 24's playing then was less than 90 seconds
Absolutely love this countdown above all
The presenter Clarence Mitchel 7 years later was spokesman for the McCann family after their daughter Madeleine disappeared. BBC World News channel used BBC news 24 studios from 2am always till mornings
Imagine play the countdown music when the time is almost over on your exams
Countdown stars at 2:15 length duration.

still best version of the song
That ident annoyed me at the time, but it's nice to hear that balloon theme in full.

So much better than the BBC ONE-ness rubbish.
DN21Media aye. One-ness needs to go the way of the dinosaur. Bring back what the viewers demand!!
2’s new idents are very nice but I’d still enjoy seeing some old ones peppered in.
i want to go to tom's house

Is there bbc news 24?
Yes, although it's now known as BBC News.
Or BBC world news in other countries
@@fmk9568 which we're lucky enough to see sometimes in the UK, like overnight when they call it BBC News, when we know it's really BBC World News! I remember watching the actual BBC World News Channel regularly in a certain hotel a few years ago, but then it just disappeared. Never seemed to find it after that whichever hotel I stayed in.
Strangely, there was a BBC News 24, as it was known between 1997 and 2008. It's now known as BBC News. Similarly, BBC World, which was launched in 1995 - along with BBC Prime - also had a name change, in 2008. BBC World is now known as BBC World News. BBC Prime, on the other hand, is now BBC Entertainment.

Brilliant to have the old News 24 countdown after the BBC blocked another download. And the memories ... when George W Bush was the worst president ever... how times change!
David ssshhhh we don't want this removed as well 😂

@James Mitchell just search for the videos and articles mate. If he's innocent he certainly looks and acts very dodgy
