The Blancpain Endurance Series and the Blancpain Sprint Series are world class 'Grand Touring' competition for homologated GT3 supercars that are organised and promoted by the SRO Motorsports Group.
For 2014 the Blancpain Sprint Series brings a fresh and exciting look with a new three-class structure guaranteed to generate spectacular action throughout the large grids. Titles will be awarded to three different class champions at the end of the season : Overall Classification, Silver Cup, reserved for Silver drivers aged 25 and under and the Pro-Am Cup classes. The Blancpain Endurance Series continues to be the world's most subscribed and best supported GT series with upwards of 45 cars racing at legendary tracks like Monza, Silverstone, Nürburgring and of course the majestic Spa-Francorchamps where the jewel in the crown of endurance GT races takes place at the end of July -- the world famous Total 24 Hours of Spa.
Some of the world's most iconic supercar brands will go wheel-to-wheel in 2014 as Aston Martin, Audi, Bentley, BMW, Camaro, Ferrari, Jaguar, Lamborghini, McLaren, Mercedes, Nissan and Porsche fight epic battles on some classic tracks. All the cars will be performance balanced with weight and restrictor adjustments to make different makes more equal, thus delivering monumental on-track scraps.
Add to this potent mix of top GT cars, some world class drivers like former F1 drivers Alex Zanardi and Nelson Piquet Jr, former Le Mans 24 hours-winner Guy Smith, reigning champions Maximilian Buhk, Laurens Vanthoor and Stéphane Ortelli, and a sensational year of racing lies ahead this season.

This year's quality is fucked up, refresh rate or something is terrible. Compare to last year's videos and see the difference.

As a race fan since the late fifties, I don't have much time or respect for this "it's become too safe and tracks are too tame" line of crap, especially from 'old', retired drivers like Watson. There are ways to make racing exciting and a test of car and driver without killing people. Watson escaped a very dangerous time in F1 relatively unscathed by luck and never being one of the fastest. I wish the great Gilles Villeneuve had driven in today's safer F1 so we could have him for 20 years instead of the short time had to watch his incredible speed and skill. Track limits?. It should relatively easy to engineer track margins that safely deflate tires if the car crosses them. That'll keep the good drivers on track. There's no need for the ridiculous Paul Ricard circuit paved runoffs that amount to paving the whole bloody area then painting the 'race track'. Modern race cars that literally have a 'life-safe cell' for the driver so the car can disintegrate around him in a crash and he can walk away are a wonderful part of current racing. One of those would have saved Gilles' life. So, to sum up, screw Watson.

Don't blame the drivers blasting through the crash scene on the Ferrari #100 crash. There were no yellow flags at all at the bottom of Eau Rouge at first (at pit-out). I was standing on the outside of Eau Rouge when it happened. As soon as the post on the bottom of Eau Rouge showed double yellows all drivers behaved well. There's nothing you can do when you only have the post near the crest showing yellows

Doing some rough arithmetic: sixty-odd cars, worth what?, $200,000 plus each; you're looking at $12- $15 million roaring away to potential destruction. And other than entertainment and a rush for the rich participants, contributing absolutely nothing of any lasting value to the world.

Actually, it's $400K - $750K for each of the cars.
