Yes, if you want the rainbow passives on multiple different pals. Why they're breeding you could also be catching wild yakunos to increase the chances of getting the rainbow onto the yakimo. For new passives, you want the parent to have 0-0 passives to maximize your chances if getting a new passive. When you have all 4 passive you want across all the yakumo then been them together to combined them.
@Poppyhead21 I think your asking how to get pals to have 0 passives? You keep breeding put if you have a pal with 4 passives, then the baby has 3 passives you swap them around. Keep doing this then you will get 0 eventually
Hey there! I have a beginner question-why Yakumo? Is it the best option for breeding upwards with non-legendary/elemental passives? i noticed you have one for movement, worker, dungeons etc...
Yakumo has an ability when it's out in your party fighting other pals it has a chance to give the new pal the same passives as your Yakumo. This makes it's easier to get tje passives you need.

So, I'm in the late game, working on breeding, this is all simple enough. But how do you get them all to lvl 55 fast, there has to a better way than just catching pals ?
Catching pals gives you the most xp, if you have all the catching bonuses already then take some pals with you on your dungeon runs and oil rig runs for schematics and skill fruits. For the last levels you want to use the item from the gold coin merchant (blazamat ryu drops this item also) If you still need xp then I'd recommend farming for large xp scrolls.
1 oil rig run killing everyone on route until 55 is normally complete by the time you hit the 4th elite chest location for lvl 1 pals I normally take a jormuntide for getting to far side of oil rig and galeclaw for fast travel around oil rig and getting back to travel point.
