Miss his voice so much - great voice - lovely man - go Broderick 🙏💗
How good is this bloke? ... Great stuff Brod!
Great version of the classic song. RIP Brod, your music made a difference
Love Brod. It just goes to show what a sublime record the original Band version was and what an awesome vocal it was by Rick Danko. Still, Brod did the song justice. As always.
This man gives his all as a performer. Is also a very funny man on stage. Broderick is a must see.
What an amazing Talent Brod is..this song would be a huge hit in the USA.
Boderick is one of Australia's greatest musical story tellers
Thanks for putting this up. Brilliant treatment of a epic by Brod. Nailed it guys.
I had to put it up, people have to see.
We were to film doug Parkinson last month but was postponed. Will be doing him later and looking forward to it. Indeed, another aussie legend!
As good as any Australian singer ever- Deserves more recognition 🎉
How could it get any better , sublime performance
RIP Brod.🎶🎶🎶🥲
Brilliant singer, brilliant song...
I just learned about this man. What a great performer.
wow, Mick O'Conner plays sooo cool , i remember the hammond tune.
Peter Robertson
i really felt this , a great find , many thanks Broderick .
Great voice has Brod... Champion!!!!
Peter Donelly good on you ! keep posting on !
No worries Michael, thanks. I have heaps more but need time to edit them down.
No one bests the original with its unique vocals but Brod does a great job using his voices strengths. I miss that I won5 see him live again. Amazing voice… no need for any device based correction or enhancement
wow .... love you so much thankyou Brodda thankyou for this performance wow that's a trio
I love this.
gotta love brod!
Wow! What a great singer. Damn fine Band tune too. Thanks for the opportunity to see it.
I bet...would of loved to hear it Ripper
The song was originally sung by "The Band", Rich Danko (RIP) on vocals.
Broderick Smith's voice still sounds terrific. I saw them in Auckland several times early 70's. Way Out West still one of my favorites. We do't get enoungh Oz or NZ music here stateside and it's a shame. Australia has produced some of the best music made, remember "Dragon"?
I agree, this performance does it for me.
Sadly, I missed him on rockquiz. I went to SBS website but it's not up yet. So I can't help you there.
I saw a female singer doing this song. It was great and very different when a woman does it....
RIP Mick - gonna miss you mate =^(
Broderick’s son Ambrose is a prominent member of the band King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.
Legend
You're welcome.
I adore this performance, you have taste. (-:
This guy is fantastic ..where did he come from??
Aussie guy , from late 60s - 70s ....very admired musician here ..and rightly so .
I agree 100 %
One of the nicest Band covers I've heard.
Can anyone tell me what the name of the song is that he performed on Rockwiz? It has the repeating line "Now God may not be with us."
ruby in the snow '82 this one edges on it but different
Peter, did you do more videos of Broderick Smith during that show? If so, how many songs were there that you did videos of?
Hey..I filmed the whole concert. probably 90 min all up.
THINK ITS JUST A WHISKER FAST ,,,, oops caps...but still awesome
Vale-
Peter, were all these videos shot in 4;3 format or is there a 16;9 version as well? In high definition or not?
You know what? I can't even remember why it is 4.3. I only just realized after your post. Weird. I don't know why I did that cos 16.9 was always an option. I might go check my original footage for a sec.
yeah all 4.3. So strange.
Back then we had analogue camera's and a couple of handy cams (Thus some shots you can see lack a little quality but I don't mind that grainy look) Maybe the handy cams could only do 4.3. But that doesn't seem right. I have no idea. :-)
I had a mate who is now dead and he shot around 100 original documentaries and they were all done in 4:3 format because he never thought of doing anything in 16:9. He said he bought a new video camera but never used it and was saying it was too small for him. He edited all his videos himself and he used to give me copies to watch. He said he was saving the new camera for his kids when he dies. @@peterdonellymiscellaneousv2854
Despite that, they are all beautifully filmed videos. I was planning to shoot videos, but it was getting expensive buying equipment and I don't get to any gigs any longer. I bought a couple of vision switchers and some video cameras, but it's lots of work doing it all and too many of the singers that I liked have passed away in recent years. @@peterdonellymiscellaneousv2854
@@tmnl8037 haha...I suppose wide screen TVs were not so common so using 16.9 may not have been practical. I do live promos for bands now, I love it.
I have access to talent, just need talented co-workers.
got any more ??....well have ya punk ??
Well I prefer Rick Danko's version above this one.
Such BS! Broderick should have given it away a long time ago. Nothing worse when a bogan cries and massacres a classic song like this!!
Absolutely atrocious comment.
