I’ve hiked in the same Balaef pants for 4 years… thousands of miles and love them!

    Compactor Bag HELL YES !!

That looks like a white garbage bag. Is it actually a trash compactor bag? I've often wondered if people use those terms interchangeably.

Did you have any problems with the Durston tent having such a large footprint?
And how did you deal with when it was wet and packing up in the morning?

I remember when you got the new tent. 😊 Wow, just from the tent and quilt swap...2 pounds gone. 👏 I've never heard of Flipfuel! What a great piece of gear. Well, I have no questions, Mojo. You're too thorough! 😂 Take care ✌️

You’re a plethora of great info Molly! What was your favorite state you hiked? Did Ziggy ever summit? Was it hard to summit without him? Did you see a bear? What did you think about the kindness of strangers on the trail and from your subscribers? Would you do anything differently next time?

Thanks so much for continuing to post! I like how your decisions seemed guiltless and practical. If you needed to make a change, you went ahead and did it, even early on with the shoes.

Another really good video, Molly. Could you do a video on basic gear to start backpacking that you recommend? For your q&a: what were some of the challenges you faced as a woman doing a thru hike on the AT?

So nice to see you, Molly. I appreciate the gear recommendations. 'My next thru hike'? Are you planning another hike? And how did you blend back into normal life, what if any grand realizations you had, what did you learn about yourself?? Great hearing from you again! Happy hiking!

Great video! Thanks so much for sharing the clothing changes. That was so helpful. Also…would love to know how your premade dehydrated dinners turned out. Did you use them all the way to Maine? Would you do anything differently with your meals/resupplies?

The best pack liner I have found is a nylofume bag. I get them at Litesmith and Garage Grown Gear. My gear has never gotten wet while using one. They weigh about 1 once.

I've been curious if you kept up with your initial goals of stretching before and after, journaling, keeping in the moment, etc.

Thank you! I am wondering about the food you dehydrated before the trip. I think you mentioned that you had stopped using them. I found what I thought I wanted to consume on the CT and what I ended up eating were very different. I am curious about how much weight you lost on trail. I am curious about which state was your favorite. Thank you for sharing!

Mojo you're awesome. I've gone back and watched a lot of your videos including your pre-hike stuff I hadn't watched. I remember watching your "My Goals" or "My Why" video. One of your fears was if you got out there and didn't like it or homesick. I'm sure there are ebbs and flows. Good days and bad.
If you ever have a Q&A... was it everything you hoped it would be? Positive, no regrets? Would you recommend it to all those willing, capable and interested? It seems like your sense of accomplishment would be through the roof. When you are in your later years you can always look back and reminisce about that summer on the AT. You've really inspired me to thru-hike the AT in '25 or '26. - Matt

Those trekking pole tents with the open bottoms…doesn’t the wind blow right through them & make you cold inside? I’ve never used one & it seems like you would lose all the warm air in your tent.

Good vlog and as always full of useful info. My question to you is what was your culture shock like especially in the south. I remember how different it was in Georgia, 45 years(!) ago and being a kid from Southern Oregon the difference between Central Georgia and home was pretty stark. Nice people but boy were things different.
    1) How did you like the South and 2) How did you like New England? 3) What was your favorite town that you zero'd in. 4) Did you enjoy NYC, did you feel some what overwhelmed by all the activity and noise?

I’m having the same problem with my tent as you did with your pack liner. I’m hell bent on getting the Fjallraven Abisko Lite 1P & 3P tent. These are tunnel tents. The 3P is for when my wife joins on trail. What is Beebo’s email address? I wanna talk about those Fjallraven shorts, lol! I know the Durston tents are fantastically lighter than these 2 tunnel tents from Fjallraven, but I have a total hard on for all things Fjallraven. In my mind, it’s “ buy once, cry once, but happy for a lifetime” lol!! I’m afraid to venture outside of Fjallraven.

Great information Molly. I have a random question about the content of one of your videos. 😊 What is the music on Day 171 (cowboy camping 😉) at the end showing the beautiful views and sunset? I love it and would love to find it. Thank you!!

Real nice video. Did you have any issues pitching the trekking pole tent on platforms in the NE? How did you deal with that? Thanks!

    • @mollyroseoutdoors
      @mollyroseoutdoors  Месяц назад

I slept in the shelters a lot in NE instead, but I’ve seen people set up trekking pole tents on the platform before. Sometimes there are hooks or nails on the sides of the platforms for you to attach guy lines to.

Ok trend amoung RUclipsrs I've started to notice, is they start their hike so early in the year, and then they need a whole different set of clothes and sleeping gear. This is why I'm heading out later in the season, no way am I gonna pay for a set of gear that I'll only use for the first month, then send home or toss.

I use the JetBoil Stash and it is really fuel efficient! Plus, I would only boil water once a day for dinner. I didn’t use it for coffee or oatmeal in the morning like some people like to.
