Hi Melissa! I have a question, my skincare routine at the moment is:
    - Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
    - Revolution 2% Salicylic Acid
    - The Ordinary Argireline Solution 10%
    - Cerave Moisturising Lotion
( In that order ) I used to only use the Cerave Moisturising Lotion and Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser. I only started using the serums a few minutes ago, both never caused irritation on the patch test, but I seen in the video you showed a “conflicting” list for the Argireline 10% Serum, one of the conflicts was the Salicylic Acid 2%? I’m wondering if it’s bad for me to use both serums in my routine? and if I should switch up the order in my routine! I also forgot to mention but I use the Salicylic Acid on my nose, chin and forehead since that’s were my spots and white heads/blackheads are most commonly visible. I would be so great full of you could reply!! Love your videos! 😁

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 года назад +1

Hello Kayla, the reason for this is because it may cause the peptides (Argireline) to break down so that they can't do the job anymore. So you won't experience irritation, but you may not see any results. You can avoid this by either waiting in between, let's say a few minutes, or use them at alternate times.
I have to say that I do not fully understand this. From what I have read is that the formulation also plays an important role. So if you are using Salicylic Acid from another brand, it may not matter since the pH can vary, and therefore it may change. The ingredients used in the formulation may play a role as well. 🤷🏼‍♀️
To get a reliable answer, you need to ask a chemist ;) Or stick to the Ordinary recommendations ;)

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

You should not use Mandelic Acid with Buffet+Copper Peptides or Argireline Solution. Since acids can break the chain of the peptides and you may lose some benefits. So keep them separate.

Am i right in saying then that the order would be:
    Face wash (i use Cerave)
    Argireline
    Hyaluronic acid
    Buffett
    Moisterizer
And the nighttime the same routine but Retinol after buffett before moisteriser

      Hey :)
All correct. Generally, if you have more water-based serums (Argireline
Hyaluronic acid, Buffet) you can layer them in any order.
But wouldn't use too many serums with the retinol since it may influence its efficacy.

I'm a bit confused because I have received different versions from different people so I don't know if I'm doing it wrong.
After cleanser in the mornings I use Argireline 10% and then I'm using pure Vit C C10 from La Roche-Posay. Someone told me that because the vit C is in a low concentration it doesn't have a conflict to use it with Argireline. Is that right or should I stop using it in the morning?
At nights I use it before I apply retinol from La Roche-Posay but my understanding is that these two don't have any conflict.

      Hello again 😀
I can remember ;) But just make sure that you are not using the Lactic Acid in the same routine as the Glycolic Acid 7%. And do not mix them with the Argireline Solution. Apart from that you can use it with your Hyaluronic Acid and Niacinamide.
You can add a hydrating toner such as the Paula's Choice Enriched Calming Toner before the Argireline solution.
      For example:
      AM:
      Cleanser
      Paula'S Choice Enriched Calming Toner
      Argireline solution
      (Optional Moisturizer)
      SPF
      PM:
      Cleanser
      Paula'S Choice Enriched Calming Toner
Glycolic Acid 7% or Lactic Acid 10% (Leave on Exfoliant)
      Hyaluronic Acid
      Niacinamide
      (Optional Moisturizer)
There are multiple options. But this is just one possibility.

Yes, it could, but you are likely more prone to wrinkles/fine lines on the forehead or around the eyes.
And yes, it should be used before the retinoid as it is a water-based solution.

Using Azelaic Acid after retinol can sometimes make the skin sensitive. So best would be to keep them separate, but they can be used together and do not conflict.
And Azelaic Acid should not be used with Argireline.
So my recommendation is the following:
      Night 1:
      Cleanser
      Argireline Solution
      Retinol
      Night 2:

    Hi Melissa.
I just ordered this today ( Argirelene ) and I’m a bit confused how to use it, or not how to use it, but if it will go well with my routine.
    In the AM I use:
    A foam cleanser ( a Danish brand )
Nuface hydrating gel + Nuface treatment
    Sometimes niacinamide
Buffet + natural moisturizing factors HA
    SPF 50
    In the PM I use:
    Squalane cleanser
Lactic acid 5% ( every other night )
Frownie and natural moisturizing factors HA.
Once a week ( in the PM ) I use the ordinary’s salicylic acid 2% masque
From what I can understand I shouldn’t use this with direct acids, so I’m thinking it would be best to use it in the morning.
I wonder what you think about this? Does Argirelene work with HA, niacinamide?
I know the buffet has peptides ( even argirelene ) so I wonder if using both would be too much?
I have sensitive / normal ( sometimes acne prone ) skin.
    I hope you’ll reply.
    Have a lovely day 🌞🌸

      Hello,
It is tricky to say since we do not know how much Argireline is used in Buffet and how much the skin needs. So the % used may already be enough. And yes, it would be best to use it in the morning since it is sensitive to the pH or alternate with Lactic Acid in the evening. It has this light texture, and it layers well with any other product as long as you keep the conflicts in mind. I mean, there are multiple possibilities on how to do it. Just test it 😀

    Thank you !

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

Yes, it can be used with retinol. The main reason for this is because it does not lead to irritation. (or let's say in most cases unless you really have a reaction to the ingredient, which can happen with anything, but it's very rare)
The CeraVe Sa cleanser includes only a minimal amount of SA, but it can't come in contact since you are washing it off. So there is no need to worry.

      PM 1:
      - Cleanser
      - Argireline Solution
      - Alpha Arbutin
      - Retinol
      PM 2:

    Hi Melissa
Can I use these products for my morning routine
    Cetaphil cleanser
    Alpha arbutin
    Niacinamide
    Buffet
    Argireline
    Cerave moisturizing lotion spf30
    I have a dry skin
    Thank you in advance!☺️

Yes, but I suggest using them in the following order:
      Cetaphil cleanser
      Argireline
      Buffet
      Alpha arbutin
      Niacinamide
      Cerave moisturizing lotion spf30
And do not use too many drops as otherwise, it can feel very sticky. My suggestion would be:
      AM1:
      Cetaphil cleanser
      Argireline
      Niacinamide
      Cerave moisturizing lotion spf30
      AM2:
      Cetaphil cleanser

      Alpha arbutin
      Cerave moisturizing lotion spf30

Hello! I use the glycolic acid toner on PM, now can I use Argireline after that ? Because Argireline should be used on AM and PM. Or I have to use it only on AM with another toner? I also have the pixi glow tonic! Thank you!

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

Those are the conflicts of Argireline: Products containing Direct Acids, pure Vitamin C (LAA/ELAA).
Glycolic Acid is a Direct Acid. So please, do not use them in the same routine.
The Pixi Glow Tonic includes 5% of Glycolic Acid so, again, I do not recommend using them in the same routine😊

Hi there, I recently started using the argireline solution. I'm using a moisturizer that contains citric acid (Nivea Creme). Is this okay to use after applying the argireline solution? If not is there a moisturizer that you would recommend?

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial

Yes, that's not an issue. If the acid is significantly down the ingredients list, it is just used to balance the pH of the formulation, so no need to worry. 😃

    Hello dear,
I am currently using a cerave smoothing cleanser and have niacinamide, hyaluronic acid, retinol and vitamin c suspension in my skincare. A how can I add an Argireline solution to my skin care?
    Thank you😊

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 года назад

I recommend not using it with the Vitamin C suspension. Apart from that, it shouldn't be an issue. So you can use it after Hyaluronic Acid.
      Pm1 (2-3 times a week)
      Cleanser
      Hyaluronic Acid
      Argireline Solution
      Niacinamide
      Retinol
      Pm2: (Rest of the week)
      Cleanser
      Hyaluronic Acid
      Vitamin C Suspension
There are many other options, and I recommend to watch the following video to understand it a bit better:

Hiya, I was watching a video by Reba Farhin (I think I got the spelling right).: she worked for Deciem and says that this products results are temporary in the true sense of the word. I had read that it was good for the nasolabial folds (marionette lines?). And I was so excited then depressed when I heard that there are no lasting effects. What do you think? (You might find her videos interesting, she gives an insider view of all Tho Ordinary products).

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  3 года назад +3

Hello again 🙂 Thx 🙂 I have read studies about ARGIRELINE™, and it seems that it varies from person to person. The main issue is that some show that the molecules are too large to penetrate the skin, and therefore it sits on top and may not get to that point where it can help to improve the skin. But some studies show that it can improve it, but it does not mention anything about a temporary effect.
Generally, this is the main issue with Peptides, and there is not much research supporting them. That may be a reason why it isn't so popular yet.

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Год назад

@@carolinecarlo9091 Haha, you do not see it with your eyes. That makes it so tricky; these are tiny little molecules and when too acidic they break down the peptide chains into amino acids so that you will not get any benefits (longterm). The temporary smoothing effect is because of the water content applied to the skin.
What kind of pigmentation do you have, Melasma? 🤔

    • @MelissaVanDijkOfficial
      @MelissaVanDijkOfficial  Год назад

@@carolinecarlo9091 Well, these serums are not meant to be used on the eyelids, only on the eye contour and around, or forehead not sure why people think this.
So for melasma, you need to visit a doctor for prescription products or do some tests to figure out the cause (if they can, often they cannot), but it is worth a try.
